Ok set off to do this today got the cot ten thought we hd no salt. Found the salt (I think it ran out in 1996!) then realised I couldn't find my vanilla essence! so gave up and went to the swings! Will try again tomorrow

BettySpaghetti · 07/05/2007 22:14

Black food colouring eh....?

OOh I think our rather dull green playdough might become Goth Playdough tomorrow.

Even better we have some small sequinny-type stars somewhere -do you think I could make Sky At Night Playdough?

Cosmetics to go! That's the one! Didn't realise they turned into Lush.

Raven, yes I was a bit twitchy as ds was DESPERATE to eat it. Wouldn't leave him unsupervised...

FrannyandZooey · 07/05/2007 22:14

You mustn't let them eat it

the salt will normally put them off tbh

Katymac mine hasn't burnt, so far...I just soak the pan for a bit

OP posts:
Tatties · 07/05/2007 22:15

Dp washed my pan

ravenAK · 07/05/2007 22:16

actually the patchouli might put them off eating it...

Tatties · 07/05/2007 22:22

I like patchouli

FrannyandZooey · 07/05/2007 22:24

Tatties

you can't love patchouli

patchouli makes me think of this:

She took me off my guard with disappointment
I got sucked inside of her apartment
Shes got dried-up flowers, flaky skin
A beaded necklace and a bottle of gin

Shes a nightmare hippy girl
With her skinny fingers fondlin my world
Shes a whimsical, tragical beauty
Self-conscious and a little bit moody

Its a new age let-down in my face
Shes so spaced out and there aint no space
Shes got marijuana on the bathroom tile
Im caught in a vortex, shes changin my style

Shes a nightmare hippy girl
With her skinny fingers fondlin my world
Shes a whimsical, tragical beauty
Uptight and a little bit snooty

... oh, oh, oh ...

Shes a magical, sparklin tease
Shes a rainbow chokin the breeze
Yo, shes bustin out onto the scene
With nightmare bogus poetry
Shes a melted avocado on the shelf
Shes the science of herself
Shes freaking out on a cosmic level
And shes meditating with the devil
Shes cooking salad for breakfast
Shes got tofu the size of texas
Shes a witness to her own glory
Shes a never-ending story
Shes a frolicking depression
Shes a self-inflicted obsession
Shes got a thousand lonely husbands
Shes playin footsie in another dimension
Shes a goddess milking her time for all that its worth

LOL

1dilemma · 07/05/2007 22:33

So can I use a non stick pan?

FrannyandZooey · 07/05/2007 22:41

I use any old pan

Tatties sorry, I know you are lovely in every other respect but NO PATCHOULI please

OP posts:
Tatties · 07/05/2007 22:48

Ha! Don't worry, I haven't worn patchouli oil since I was about 15.

TooTicky · 07/05/2007 23:06

Ooh, I might do this. But they can play with it outside as the carpet is grim enough without adding squidgy bits. I think I've seen therapeutically scented playdough for sale somewhere on the internet.
Oh, and I like patchouli

Tatties · 07/05/2007 23:13

Do it Ticky, really quick and simple. And kneading warm dough is very theraputic

TheKnightsWhoSayNi · 07/05/2007 23:17

Is DS (13 months) too young for this? He WILL try to eat it...

FrannyandZooey · 08/05/2007 08:17

He probably is a bit young Wait a few months more, or just make bread dough and then even if he does swallow lots it isn't a big deal. But I wouldn't be happy about a child eating this in any quantity - it is so terribly salty.

Tatties I feel a Smiths day coming on. I thought I could be ThisCharmingFran

As half the 10 / 10 gang appear to be on here, it seems like a good place to stick a link to the new thread . All welcome

Have printed the recipie. Feeling like a good mum already (which is curious given that ds is actually with a CM and I am at work... ).

Am with you on the Patchouli though. Yeesh. I used to work as an aromatherapist and I wouldn't use the stuff. Sandalwood is a much better hippy smell.

How soon is now?

LittleSarah · 08/05/2007 09:05

Thanks franny and soapbox! Been meaning to do this for ages.

Have made plain blue and chocolate (yum!) and loving my pans, so easy to wash! Dd very happy, off to do some squidging.

SparklyGothKat · 08/05/2007 09:12

do you have to use cream of tartar?? I have everything else but not that

Tatties · 08/05/2007 10:18

Excellent idea Franny. What could I be that I haven't already done though? Hmmmmm

Sparkly, give it a go without tartar, it'll probably be ok

misdee · 08/05/2007 10:21

oh pooi dont have any oil. any substitute?
