Oh my god Zombie ! That is a huge area . I wonder where the steps would of led, ooh could be to do with something interesting , like smugglers. I hope the space would go away from your house and not towards it.
Would this be something you had to pay for ? I hope not.

IamtheZombie · 22/03/2016 15:28

From what he saw of it 45+ years ago, builder neighbour says the tunnel was properly arched with stone / brick but it only appeared to be about 2' x 2.5' and who knows how long. We may get a better look when the excavation is done.

Yes, I'll have to pay for the excavation and work to put it right. I hope I won't need to get insurers involved but can't decide that until the full extent of the problem is revealed.

Oh that's a blow, I can see lots of £ signs ahead. Where I live the smuggler called gulliver lived in a big house opposite me. ( now flats ) there are meant to be tunnels around here where he and his fellow smugglers used to transport their stuff through. He is well documented in books about the local history. I do find that very fascinating.
But I hope the expense won't be too great, you have enough on your plate to worry about. Maybe there will be a stash of illegal alcohol down there Grin

Mummylin · 22/03/2016 16:25

Is there a port near you ? ( imagination taking over here )

FattyNinjaOwl · 22/03/2016 16:59

Could be ready made swimming pool?

You just need one of those wheels like hamsters have but big enough for the cats to run round and they can generate waves for you Grin

Zombie's Day (so far)

Up at 06.30. Not my first idea but I just couldn't sleep.

Boiler fires up at 07.00 on schedule. 08.30 I realise the Aga has gone out. Feel a radiator - warm but cooling down. Check boiler. Red light. I've run out of oil.

Oil ordered on Monday was delivered at 09.15. 09.45 try to fire up boiler. Boiler says NO. Feck I'm going to have to bleed the bloomin' thing.

10.10 Window cleaner arrives. 10.25 builder and my neighbour arrive to assess the sink hole. I mention the oil / boiler situation. They bleed the boiler for me.

In between the above I loaded, ran and emptied the dishwasher (pausing only to have my porridge first so that bowl could go in). Started on changing litter trays. Filled a couple of shopping bags with paperwork / post that needs sorting (next week).

I'm now going to return to hoovering and dusting. Later I will clean and make up the guest room.

DO NOT OVERDO IT!!

FattyNinjaOwl · 24/03/2016 11:56

DO NOT do too much. You don't want to wear yourself out before your friend arrives.

Fiderer · 24/03/2016 12:19

You slacker, Zombie Wink

I very nearly, really honestly very nearly wrote a list of things I need to do.

Beat that with a stick.
