There's still plenty of room for posts on the current thread but I'm starting this one now as I may be offline for some time.

I've asked iklboo to keep an eye on my FB timeline and to copy / paste the updates here so they should appear as and when.

Make sure you have your chianti and fava beans ready for the 11th!

Wah ! I don't like gin, only Pernod or champagne. The day you come home again Zombie I will open one of my little bottles of Kritters, which dh bought me back from France. That will be a good day to have a celebratory tipple !

Mummy, I've always found champagne to be quite an acceptable this is what I really want to drink substitution.

Oh Pernod! I remember my yoof where I used to 'depth charge' a shot of Pernod into my pint of cider. I don't remember much after a couple of depth charges though Grin

Oh and there was research posted today that suggests three glasses of champagne a day may help ward off Alzheimer's....not too sure of the science on that one but I'm willing to give it a go. I'll experiment with cava & prosecco as well. Just, you know, for a full facts study.

I've PMd iklboo, BBB and Mummylin with the hospital address. Anyone else who would like to have it can ask one of them.

NOTE CARDS ONLY as there is VERY limited space for anything else.

Thanks.

Yay Zombie!

Has anyone got a brown paper bag I can breathe into???

Just been to iklboy's parents' evening (all pretty good). We looked through his workbooks. One exercise asked him to write a letter of complaint. He'd written 'me and my friends were sitting'.

Teacher - yes teacher - has corrected it to 'myself and my friends'.

AAARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHH Angry

EXACTLY Zombie! That's what I was saying to him when I saw it written in his 'rough' book, explained the trick about taking the other party out if the sentence to see if it still makes sense - then his teacher comes out with that howler.

We didn't actually get to see his teacher at the parents' evening - we saw the one who covers his teacher's part time days off instead - so I will have to wait until I see her before I rant about the use of 'myself' Smile
