Hope you're feeling a bit better today Zombie - you're well shot of that nightmare gardener. Hardly Mellors was he. Here's something that might cheer you up a bit:-

Cat #1 apparently brought me a lovely live baby sparrow home. Told it to make itself comfy behind the tv unit while we were out. It obviously took him at his purred word. I didn't even know it was there until Cat #2 was going mad trying to get behind the tv. This can be a normal activity for him so I didn't think much of it at first.

Then - scene:

Iklboo gets fed up & drags Cat #2 from behind tv. Iklboo gets faceful of frightened baby sparrow. Iklboo craps self (and may have uttered naughty words). Iklboo is brave, rescues baby sparrow & sets it free - after a brief chase round the kitchen, front room & hallway / stairs, possibly set to Benny Hill theme. Buggering sparrow flies off without so much as a backwards glance or cheep of thanks. Cats not impressed.

Iklboo needs gin.

Susiesoap7 · 14/05/2016 15:56

Sending large gin🍸🍸🍸birds in house are one of my scaries ugh ! 👻👻

iklboo · 14/05/2016 16:02

Thanks Susie. I don't mind them really. Just not flying straight up in my face (while I'm straddling a tv unit) like a crap cheapo horror film. Grin

FattyNinjaOwl · 14/05/2016 19:28

ikl that made me giggle.
Grin

susie I think you'll have to explain to my dd the gin is just for grown ups....she seems to think she's been on it

Hooray for getting rid of crap gardener & may the next one be a wonder.

Is that you in the picture, FNO?? (As well as your DD - who looks most disapproving!)

FattyNinjaOwl · 14/05/2016 19:34

Yeah that's me. Blush

IamtheZombie · 14/05/2016 19:43

I think FNO's DD is going "Now let me think about that".

And you look so berluddy young!!

You can send DD round with DS any time you like!

More gin is always a good idea Grin

FattyNinjaOwl · 14/05/2016 20:30

magi I am a fatty, I just hide the worst of it Grin I weigh about 16 stone, I can't seem to shift it.
I don't feel young...I feel.about 100. 3 kids will do that to you. Here's the 3rd. There's 19 months between DD and him and he weighs more than her and is just going up.into the same size clothes as her (she's slightly taller, he's a lot fatter Grin)

Before anyone else in the Phalanx gets broody over FNO's DC3, he's MINE!.

FattyNinjaOwl · 14/05/2016 21:24

You can have him zombie but you may have to hire a night nanny as he still doesn't bloody sleep. To be fair his cuteness makes up for that. He's just learnt "ta" so now he chases you round shouting "ta" until he gets what he wants.

Susiesoap7 · 14/05/2016 21:35

FNO please tell dd gin is mothers ruin! I prefer vodka lol 😻

FattyNinjaOwl · 14/05/2016 21:36

Evening dear friends. I need to share a couple of health concerns.

As you know, I need to have blood tests done the day before each chemo treatment. My results for everything they test for have always been good. (My haemoglobin level is often several points above the top of the normal range but that's not uncommon for a smoker.) However over the past few months my platelet count has been falling. The bottom of the normal range for platelets is 150. Starting at the end of January, my 3 weekly readings have gone: 232, 168, 152, 155, 129, and last week 117. I asked my chemo nurse how low it had to go before it could affect whether or not they could give me the treatment. She indicated that if it went below 100 they would test again on the day to see if the levels were back up. WARNING: DO NOT GOOGLE causes of low platelet count.

Today I noticed that my liver seems to be enlarged. At least I think / assume it's my liver. It's the upper right hand quadrant of my abdomen. It isn't sore.

Another very minor niggle is that for the past couple of months I have been getting greasy hair if I don't wash it every 2 or 3 days. I was like this pre-menopause but since menopause my hair has never looked greasy and I've only needed to wash it once a week. Something hormonal going on?

I have an appointment to see my oncologist on Wednesday so I don't think it's worth trying to do anything else before then.

That doesn't stop me worrying though.

Will keep my fingers very tightly crossed that everything is OK (well, as OK as they can be)

Badders123 · 15/05/2016 19:08

Could you have an infection zombie?
Hope you get some answers on weds xx

Mummylin · 15/05/2016 20:18

Lets all keep everything crossed that there is nothing further to worry about Zombie. I think you are due some good news. It just seems to be never ending for you dosent it. How are you feeling in yourself ?

Have you been introduced to the new gardener yet ?. It all sounds very promising. Did anything else happen about the sink hole, or is that the end of of our expectations of treasures ?

Susiesoap7 · 15/05/2016 20:21

Sending healing prayers to help you dear zombie, fingers and toes will be crossed for Wednesday 🌸🌸🌸

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 16/05/2016 01:07

Could your sensitivity to your liver have been caused by your wonderful w/e with your friend?
Just a thought; you are very slim, so a bit of a change would be very noticeable?

Of course you will worry Zombie, your condition and treatment will make you absolutely tuned to the most minor changes in your body.
Which is a good thing but has its downsides Smile

lin the sink hole was filled in, no treasure.

If you and I do diametrically opposed Madonnas we could hold each other up Grin

IamtheZombie · 16/05/2016 16:21

Afternoon.

Badders, an infection is always possible but my temperature is fine. When I was in hospital for 5 weeks this time last year, they knew I had an infection but they could never find it. I was on IV antibiotics for 4 1/2 weeks.

I'm feeling fairly well, lin; have shaken off the chemo side effects. Potential New Gardener (PNG) isn't available yet. Builder brought his son along today and son mowed the lawns while dad finished off a couple of other external repairs to the house. In the course of that we discovered that EX gardener hadn't bothered to let me know that the strimmer is broken. So, I'll be getting a new one of those this week. I helped out by pulling a few weeds from the raised borders, assembling a 4 tier "greenhouse" and sewing a tray of cat grass.

BBB, I'm scrawny everywhere EXCEPT for my belly. Surely you noticed my twins bump at the meet up. The swelling is only really noticeable because of the rather large dimple below it.

Thanks for your kind thoughts, FNO and Susie.

In other news, my Echo-cardiogram appointment arrived in the post today. It's for tomorrow!! Bloody good thing the letter arrived today. Oh, I also learned that my lovely postie is moving into a job-share so will have a different route. (BOO!) He'll only be working for Royal Mail 3 days a week and is starting up his own lawn care / general gardening business. (YAY!) So, I have a back up if required.
