I'm all ready for chemo tomorrow. I've been to the hospital and had my bloods drawn. I've done enough shopping to get me through the weekend while I recover. I've also shopped for the cats. They don't know it (yet) but when their previous stocks run out they are going to go grain free. I'm assured this should reduce the stench of their poo.

MRI appointment has finally come through - 29th June. So much for my oncologist's attempt to get Birmingham to co-ordinate my CT (which I had last week) and my MRI scans. I now won't know what's going on with my liver until 18th July. I hope the current chemo regime is still keeping the cancer under control but now I won't know for 2 and bit months. Feck.

I'm home from chemo. There was a complementary therapist from the local hospice offering free foot massages. Needless to say I had one and it was heavenly.

I took along my MRI appointment letter and showed it to my chemo nurse. She sent it around to my oncologist who has now emailed the liver unit at Birmingham to try and have it brought forward. I'm not holding my breath.

Summer returned today in all her glory. Pity I had to spend it sitting in the Chemo Day Centre with poison going into my arm...

Let's hope they can rush through your results Zombie. Are you going to drink lots of water now ? Hope the side effects stay away .
We have just had a massive thunderstorm. It's very hot and sticky

Hopefully they can bring the mri forward. And yay to free gift massage, lucky zombie.

I've got the day after chemo blues. Headache, body aches, the works.

This was NOT helped by the "Number Withheld" telephone call at 08.30 am. I've just received another one which I answered and it was my chemo nurse. She was most apologetic. She now has my email address...

I'm waiting for my nice builder to arrive to repoint my garage roof. I plan to give him a cup of tea and then go back to bed.

I've slept most of the afternoon. I'm not sure I'm feeling any better yet but at least I'm not feeling worse.

My garage roof has a new lease of life. Builder cleared all the moss from the tiles, replaced a few broken / cracked tiles AND re-pointed all the ridge tiles. He's also helping me find a new gardener. Previous gardener had been on his final warning for a while and I finally dismissed him a couple of weeks ago. I finally had enough of having to ask him 3 or 4 times to do something I wanted done. He preferred to wander around doing what he wanted instead. Example: Me - Please prune the hedge. Him - Oh but it will look ugly. Me - It's out of control and it will grow back. Him - Oh but it will look ugly. Repeat conversation for 3 weeks until I finally say Either prune the hedge NOW or go home and don't bother coming back. That was one of our milder disagreements...

Back now in windy, wet Sussex which has been scorching in my absence apparently, boo hoo!

I really hope that appt. can be brought forward Z, that's too long for you to wait for such important information. FX for you

Hearing about your foot massage made my feet tickle

I remember your gardener has been giving you cheek for quite a while; so annoying when someone won't do as you ask and you still have to pay them.

Very pleased to hear that the builder is going to help find someone else , he sounds like a good guy.

Ex gardener was extremely hard work. I explained to him REPEATEDLY that I was dealing with enough shit with the cancer and that the absolute last thing I needed was him stressing me out by arguing with me and ignoring my instructions. He didn't get it. When I told him not to come again he couldn't understand it and insisted I explain. So I listed a number of incidents and said yet again about not needing that stress on top of the cancer. I went on to say that he clearly had no idea about what it takes to cope with cancer and why such additional stress was unacceptable. He assured me that he "knows ALL about cancer because his auntie had it". WTAF Oh, yes. Instead of ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door, he'd walk around the house peering in the windows trying to find me.

Builder is lovely. He's my very nice, cat sitting, house watching neighbour's SIL. He's bringing potential new gardener around tomorrow. PNG is neighbour's brother's grandson who is just finishing his apprenticeship and wants nothing more than to be a gardener. I have high hopes for this one.
