As discussed by Bundle and myself off-board...who'd like to join us in creating a present for another Mner?
Ought to try and keep it a surprise for the recipient really so CAT me or Bundle if you would like more info.
All offers of help hugely appreciated, as before.

I can't knit - am quite crafty though - what sort of thing d'you have in mind?

JessaFreedomFighter · 08/08/2006 15:22

Have CAT-ed
Is is a sewing type blanket or a knitted type, cos actually I can't knit particularly effectively... bit will give it a go for MN!
Can sew though...

welshmum · 08/08/2006 15:24

have cat'd you Marina.

Marina · 08/08/2006 15:24

Can you crochet FMF, she says through gritted teeth...
Last year we made a blanket for the child of a Mner and did so out of knitted cotton squares so it could be washed. For assembly purposes it all needed to be roughly the same elasticity/density, hence the all-knitted/crocheted approach.

I want to know who the MNer is but can't knit

I'm just nosey though

You're all lovely, you knitters!

Marina · 08/08/2006 15:25

All squares received last year made for a lovely blanket, whether from highly accomplished or novice knitters, so please don't worry about whether you are good enough

FanjoFanjoWhosGotTheFanjo · 08/08/2006 15:44

Or rather, just email me, I expect more organised people will still have my email address from the last time?

Marina · 08/08/2006 15:46

I still have some DK cotton from last time - same materials, I'm assuming?

I have some new techniques to show off, as have been mad for mosaic knitting lately.

Marina · 08/08/2006 15:47

And you too! Thanks Polly

Think I'll be OK marina, I'll go tomorrow to see what I can find in the shops and let you know if I need some. Thanks

bundle · 08/08/2006 16:08

marina, I was just trying to be inclusive for our crafty comrades

Marina · 08/08/2006 16:13

Anyone who uses the words die and cutter in close proximity is not trustworthy IMO bundle (sorry gals, only joking - but ability to wash it is v. imp here)
