As discussed by Bundle and myself off-board...who'd like to join us in creating a present for another Mner?
Ought to try and keep it a surprise for the recipient really so CAT me or Bundle if you would like more info.
All offers of help hugely appreciated, as before.

I'm onto my second but feeling potentially very inadequate about my first effort! Keep thinknig my plain efforts will provide contrast for the much more expert and innovative ones!

CorrieDale · 13/08/2006 18:18

I'd love to help! Can you please CAT me the details?

mousiemousie · 13/08/2006 18:20

Is there a photo of the first blanket?

WelshBoris · 13/08/2006 18:20

Really dont think Ill be able to contribute, seems quite hard
Am not crafty at all, just wanted to help
Sorry Marina

Dottydot · 13/08/2006 19:24

Hi - I can knit and would love to contribute - can you CAT me? Or my e-mail address is lakinson.house at ntlworld dot com

Thanks

longwaytogo · 13/08/2006 20:51

would love to help - if I can find my needles. nothing fancy mind you, haven't actually made anything in years. my email is [email protected]

Marina · 14/08/2006 10:08

No worries WB, please don't feel bad about it
Will mail those of you who have posted this weekend, thanks all, and have just replied to your CAT CorrieDale.
Yes please Sally - do you need CATing with the info, or would you prefer to CAT me?
Mousiemousie, I'll have to check that. I think it went in Member Profiles, but it was not I who photographed and uploaded. Will get back to you.
Number one commandment from last time was thou shalt not diss thine own knitting, robinpud! The variety of the squares made the blanket all the lovelier. You can buy terrifyingly uniform and neat handknits in designer baby boutiques, tsk tsk . This is an effort knitted by real folks for love!

I'm using Rowan DK (I've lost the label so i can't tell you the exact kind). Size 4 needles. For stocking stitch, I'd do about 33 stitches and 45 rows for a 15cm square. If you're planning on doing something more fancy that might contract (like a rib or moss stitch) then you'll probably need to tweak this. HTH

My DK cotton is not Rowan, but my row and stitch count is roughly the same as everyone else's.

MrsJohnCusack · 18/08/2006 19:44

I haven't done mine yet

And today I saw Littlefish's DD's absolutely beautiful cardigan knitted by her own hands, and frankly I'm totally and utterly outclassed (I'm telling you, it's gorgeous)

Will try to get the stuff and knit something this weekend though and not be put off!

Gillian76 · 18/08/2006 19:46

Mail received Marina.

Aiming to do at least one this weekend.

Will email you for details on where to send it

Littlefish · 18/08/2006 21:38

Mrs JC - What I don't think I told you was that the cardigan took about 4 months to knit, and nearly made me give up knitting altogether!!!

Get knitting woman! (lovely to see you today btw!)
