As an offshoot of the Baby Modelling thread here is the new and improved thread for all questions you may have regarding agencies, the industry or just to relate general experiences. The last thread is hereby laid to rest - it was 5 YEARS OLD! Jeez!

If you want to DEBATE or CRITICISE go to the "Child Modelling - Debate" thread.

izzy.....sorry to hear about Kidslondon - I know they really keep their numbers down to about 6-7 in each age - I am sure that alphabetkidz are just as good. How exciting for you being in a mag......let us know when it is in and we can all have a read.

alliep30 · 19/01/2006 17:06

was it pregnancy and birth mag? i want more babies aaagghhhh

cyan · 19/01/2006 17:12

hiya izzy

my ds is nearly 1 bless him. HE is lovely. Hope pregnancy is going well. Sarah and Charlotte are lovely. Elin's really sweet.

Norrie Carr not bad, went with them as my partner and his brother were with her all those many moons ago! As mentioned previously my cousin was with them and did bits of work.

WHen I was looking Elisabeth Smith, Scallywags, Alphabet and Bizzykidz liked him. Mot said no. So I suppose it really depends on what they are looking for at the time when you apply.

WHy not give Norrie a go? WHen we applied they got back to us in 2 days, and that was by snail mail!

Whereabouts are you based?

CY x

cyan · 19/01/2006 18:46

when i took ds for his interview I didnt go overboard a pair of crisp white trousers! and a little red t-shirt, i think it's important to make an impression but not go ott!

alliep30 · 19/01/2006 18:50

childsplay tomorrow. Alphabet asked for some more info so fingers crossed think i may push the boat out and put her in a dress, we've got a long journey so nothing that'll crease! how are you articles going?

cyan · 19/01/2006 18:53

His birthday is 19/02 so coming up for his first bday soon.

Yeah I thought Elisabeth Smith were a little pricey. I did consider them tho as I live in Harrow and the agency is on my way into town. But I know they can be v selective as every1 that i know of that has sent any pics off to them has been declined. ALso you never really hear of them on these threads.
There are so many agencies to choose from it's really hard to decide which one to go for, before forking out the money.

alliep30 · 19/01/2006 19:20

Hi & Thanks Izzi, had a no today also, join the club! You'll have your work cut out with 2 babes so close together!!!!

2ManyPimms · 19/01/2006 19:31

Can anyone let me know how long MOT usually takes to get back to you? A girlfriend of mine sent photos a week or so ago and hasn't heard a thing! She doesn't want to ring up as she doesn't want to appear pushy.

Any experience?

BTW - Hello to all the new faces on the board! I copied a post from the last (now hopefully "dead") thread which covers all the major agencies, minor and several in between! It is down towards the end of this thread so have a look-see! Perhaps it might answer a few questions that we, collectively, cannot.

Hello Pimms. I got a big fat NO within 24 hours, hope that helps he he! They're not looking for my daughters age range at the mo, or they were just letting me down gently.. she's 1 on sat by the way

CadburyGirl · 19/01/2006 19:56

Cyan and Izzy - I am with ES and my dd is almost 1 too. I thought they were a bit pricey but they are very reputable and selective so I went with them instead of other cheaper ones. She has only been with them a little while and had one decent job. I am not expecting her to get loads of work as just really doing it for a bit of fun!

Cadbury, that's great that your LO has had some work. ES are a very good agency and it was a tough call between them and NC for me, seeing as ES has been around for years. x

alliep30 · 19/01/2006 20:07

I would, be a pushy mum haha! I would just check that they had received the e-mail.. say you had probs with computer or something like that, then you're not hassling them then..

alliep30 · 19/01/2006 20:07

Go to the pub Cyan!!!

cyan · 19/01/2006 20:09

alright i'm off! it' so easy to get drawn in sometimes!!!!

alliep30 · 19/01/2006 20:11

yackertyyack · 19/01/2006 22:16

ALLIEP: good luck tomorrow-i am sure your little one will look lovely in what ever she wears.

CYAN: I am happy to give you my birth story but it may scare the living daylights out of people!!! Still if they are reading it in a pregnancy mag it will be to late!!!

ANYONE.....did anyone with a mothercare account get a flyer in with their statement recently???? I am after a copy..its titled "whats new in 2006"

Cheers
