As an offshoot of the Baby Modelling thread here is the new and improved thread for all questions you may have regarding agencies, the industry or just to relate general experiences. The last thread is hereby laid to rest - it was 5 YEARS OLD! Jeez!

If you want to DEBATE or CRITICISE go to the "Child Modelling - Debate" thread.

mykidsmum · 18/01/2006 22:27

Bumpity bump for all you trying to find it, new thread please

alliep30 · 18/01/2006 22:31

Im getting good at this. Up until a month ago i'd never even had an e-mail address. I'm so sad. I'm on here already somewhere I think. Any pearls of wisdom for me Was asking about childsplay, found out some info, but no one seems to be with them on this site..

cyan · 18/01/2006 22:37

Pregnancy mag, you can share yours if you like! Im just typing up some from my firends who all have babies! Actually their kids arent babies anymore more toddlers!
I posted on this site a cpl of days back saying that you could also contact local media and see if they need any models for any features they may be running? My ds was in a few bits for supplements that I have written. He is on the Watford Observer website, you cna view the pics in dec 05 photos under baby massage. Probably of no interest to some!
FIngers crossed for your baby x just make sure that they are happy to take you on in light of where you live x

mykidsmum · 18/01/2006 22:37

Well done really think the old thread should be put to rest. The advice i would give to anyone is that it is a wonderful experience for kids but can also be hard work. As you live outside of London (as i do, Northampton) this makes things even harder. However, with the right agnecy it can be great, it is just finding the agnecy that suits you and your family. It is very much a London and surrounding areas thing, i was fortunate enough to join urban angels at the bginning and they have been fantastic but many agencies don't like to use kids from out of london in case of train/traffice delays etc so it can be a disadvantage.

alliep30 · 18/01/2006 22:41

that's a valid point about distance. I can do London on the M11 in an hour but that's if the traffic is ok. I'm in Newmarket, thanks old timer!

alliep30 · 18/01/2006 22:44

Hi Cyan, what do you want to know? First one was the end of the world, second was a breeze.. it's amazing what a few years getting into the mummy role can do! Will try the local media too, you are a fountain of knowledge..

mykidsmum · 18/01/2006 22:45

Don';t let it put you off but be concious that this is what some agencies take into account, so for the last job we did we are claiming £40 train fair, in London this would be considerably less. I love travelling to london and have taken my four five and unders on the train and tube, we all love it, but sometimes reallistically you cannot travel by car, its more hastle than its worth so you have to become public transport friendly.

mykidsmum · 18/01/2006 22:47
