Child Modelling - Support and advice

As an offshoot of the Baby Modelling thread here is the new and improved thread for all questions you may have regarding agencies, the industry or just to relate general experiences. The last thread is hereby laid to rest - it was 5 YEARS OLD! Jeez!

hi sonya, i was meant to be interview with cheekykidz on sunday but cancelled as they sole rep, think allie could be going, not quite sure.

ive sent all my stuff off to AK today, i never heard off elliot brown, emailed them on 21st when i emailed pics to the others. mind you, arent they the ones in oxford, miles tooooo far!

yeah elliot brown are in oxford. I think im going to keep with tuesday child for a while anyway. Ak said i lived to far from london, need to phone elliot brown back, with rfence a appointment

hi everyone, sort of see what manicma is saying but at then od the day everyone on here i have sent pics too has sent one or ntwo or three!!!! back to me and i love seeing them. also when they do get jobs they will be in the public sphere then so im not so worried about showing a cpl of other mummies my LO. Yes I believe you should be cautious especially with the internet but like a few mums on here my ds is already on the web, in all his glory bless him. Not having a go just what I think feel much better been asleep since half 2!!!! wont sleep tonight now will i!!! missing ds!

izzy i paid urban angels my £40 once she'd been offered a contract, i didn't pay to go on the photo shoot.

found another scamming agency www.hiddenfaces.tv
the website looks great and it's suposidly based at or near pinewood studios it looks like the ideal agency for commercials,tv and film but they charge around £149 which made me a bit weary i checked them out and i came across loads of bad write up's about them (just goes to show you can't judge an agency by there website.) they also stated that there are so many con agencies out there, they reckon that no repitble agency needs to advertise for models so never go with an agency that advertises, also they reckon regarding charges that no good agency will charge for your child to be assesed so if they do avoid like the plage, also no good agency will charge for photo's to be taken again avoid. companies are aloud to charge a fee( i guess for website) but not a joining fee. they state that as long as the charge is a small reasonable amount this is aloud. there advice was go with a agency that you know advertising companies use and you can find this out by phoning up a company hq and ask to speak to the advertising manager and ask them which agencies they use or you can go on there web site and ask the question through contact button. after reading this i felt very uneasy about this whole agency thing, i guess the only sencible thing is to stay well clear of any agency we know nothing about even if the website looks great.

hi just to say all those who sent pics the are all gorgeouse, and

manicma, i asked for pics because everyone else had done, and last night i showed jack, and yes you HAVE GOT TO BE CARFULL, BUT there only pics, to each of our selfs, with kids modeling, and yes tomy are very good to work for ds as done quiet alot with them.

Hi Manicma all went fab today at MOT.You were right they are sooo lovely. We met with Rachael she was great. Just chatted through re castings jobs etc and what to expect and my DD was offered there and then to join if we were happy.Showed us the model book and magazines of the work the kids had done and they were great.Very high fashion someof them. Place was lovely everyone very professional and v.busy.
We were not charged any assessment fee or do not have to pay for any photos as they will use snapshots until she gets going.Then if we want to can have photos done in Summer to put in model book. There was never any mention of any monies that we would have to pay not like a lot of these agencies charging for this and that.
If we didnt want to go in model book then that would be up to us.
I feel very lucky that she has been accepted by them as i know they turn down hundreds of kids a week.
Just got to send off my acceptance agreement and model details sheet and then she is up and running. So it was great!!!!!

I was reading the postings on the other website and you are not the only one that had problems with BK.
I kept all the e mails from October 2004 and you are right.
