I have downloaded RATM.

pinkteddy · 20/12/2009 18:46

just announcing it on R1 now....stringing it out

MattBellamysMuse · 20/12/2009 18:47

Half a million sales, a fair bit more than Joe.

juneybean · 20/12/2009 18:48

Poor Joe

DuelingFanjo · 20/12/2009 18:48

Mwaaa Haaaa!

MattBellamysMuse · 20/12/2009 18:49

He still got number 2. Which is pretty good for a teenage talent show winner.

juneybean · 20/12/2009 18:49

Yeah definitely! Bless him he might get no. 1 next week lol

MattBellamysMuse · 20/12/2009 18:50

I'm very pleased with this result.
Cowell rang the Morters to congratulate them on their campaign.

spursmummy · 20/12/2009 19:59

I've not really cared about who's doing what in the charts for years and although I like RATM I'm not a massive fan, but I am so pleased with this. I know Simon Cowell owns part of RATM's label so he's going to do well no matter who got to number 1, but I think it's great that this year people have been exposed to a passionate, emotive song rather than the usual manipulative, bland stuff which comes out of X-Factor. And it's great that Cowell has been beaten at his own game (even if it's only for one week!).

purepurple · 21/12/2009 07:40

I am very pleased with this result.
RATM sold 50,000 copies more than X Factor.
As Jack Black says in School of Rock 'Stick it to the man!'
The next campaign is to get the Sex Pistols to number 1 for the Queen's birthday

Apparently a huge number of sales were not counted towards Rage's total because of suspicions of bulk buying. People were warned only to buy one or to copies but I heard Matthew Wright say on his show that he'd bought 9 copies.

pinkteddy · 21/12/2009 23:03

Why can't people bulk buy? Surely if you bought the CD in bulk, no one would be any the wiser?

MattBellamysMuse · 22/12/2009 21:39

Something about unduly trying to influence the charts. I don't agree with it but them's the rules apparently.
