Stereophonics never disappoint love.

Best - Charles Bradley, in a small gig that meant he practically gazed into each person's eyes at least once, so thankful I saw him live before he passed.
Random good: Won tickets to see Underworld, who I vaguely recalled (was a bit young then) from the 90s... took my sister and it was incredible, we danced non stop.

Jealous of the Foo Fighters and Depeche Mode experiences! Was meant to see DM in Athens yonks ago but they cancelled quite last minute.

Small gigs are the BEST. Much more intimate though the big gigs are amazing for the atmosphere too

Best was Justin Timberlake, born entertainer. Worst was Arctic Monkey's who I love but Alex got too school for, well everything. They just didn't seem like they could be arsed.

Lastnamedidntstick · 14/04/2023 22:39

Best - placebo, and space.

worst- cast. Clearly did not want to be there, or were too cool to look like they did. Boring.

Saw Kate Nash on a TV programme and she was so rude to Gavin out of Gavin and Stacey. Can't remember his name. Could not part with my hard earned cash. When she sings and mentions u think I'm.bitter and something re lemons,I would happily pelt one at her😂

😂😂😂

So true. Saw them live for the first time last year and actually thing they’re better live than they are on record 😎

I have seen placebo live too but found they didn’t interact much with the crowd - though Brian Molko is quite introverted so maybe that’s why

Best was definitely Marilyn Manson Antichrist Superstar tour in 2016.

Hunkydorystory · 14/04/2023 22:42

The best, Robbie’s first night at Knebworth - the atmosphere was so amazing it was like electricity running through the crowd in anticipation. The worst, Oasis at Slane Castle. Was so excited to see them for the first time at what looked like a great venue. The organisation was shambolic and everyone was bearded down a long thin path to get in and when the support came on people at the back surged. A miracle no one was hurt. The organisers had to suspend ticket checks to get everyone in. There was lots of fighting and transport back to Dublin was virtually non-existent. Oasis we’re pretty average but Prodigy supporting we’re good.

Bluebells1970 · 14/04/2023 22:42

Best - Coldplay at the Royal Albert Hall on the Ghost Stories tour, in a small venue it was utterly magical. Also Muse at the Emirates Stadium in London - the sound was incredible and we had seats in a private box. Best night imaginable.

Worst - Elton John at the NEC. We paid nearly £200 a ticket and it was awful. He was in a foul mood, kept shouting at people off stage and didn't play one familiar song (it was an orchestral album he was promoting). After an hour, people starting walking out and that really pissed him off even more. A terrible diva and I've never listened to any of his music since.
And Muse again, oddly enough, at the O2 Arena. Literally zero stage presence indoors, the sound was distorted and took us 5 hours in the car to get there. We've never been back there for a concert as it was just souless.

Steriophonics never disappoint, sound better live than recorded somehow. Other way round for Oasis although maybe better in an indoor venue.

Early days guns and roses were raw, exiting and unpredictable but amazing.

Totally agree about the phonics! Was blown away with these

OMG - can’t believe I put 2016 when I meant 1996! Where do the years go 🙁

I was a huge fan of the early stuff, I don’t bother now. But Slash with Myles Kennedy on vocals is amazing, haven’t had chance yet to see them live though.

Isn’t myles Kennedy the guy who sung in alter bridge?

Too many gigs to say the best - though up there are Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott (probably Somerset house, but neighbourhood a couple of years back was up there for being an early post lockdown gig that was just the best feeling), the script (I'm gutted at todays news), the killers at Wembley, the lottery winners at the Albert Hall in Manchester was one of my favourite ever shows, just the greatest most joyous atmosphere), Prince was incredible too.
There is always something joyful to find in even the worst live gig, but apparently I went to see Duffy once, must have been bad because I have no memory of it and only know I went because it popped up in my Facebook memories.

Rebelmcstreettuff · 14/04/2023 22:44

Best was Whitney Houston or Lionel Richie.
Worst was Rihanna, kept us waiting 1hr 30 minutes then seemed very disinterested.

ScabbyHorse · 14/04/2023 22:44

Best: Prodigy and Beastie Boys at Reading in 98. I lost my friends and kissed a guy from the NME ;)

Worst: none

Mummyof287 · 14/04/2023 22:45

Best- Red hot chili peppers @Hyde Park, Linkin Park @Milton Keynes bowl, and Pendulum

Worst- White stripes @london Hammersmith apollo

handsoffate · 14/04/2023 22:46

@Ilovepugs2017

Yes, I think Myles sings for both.

Best was Green Day supported by Frank Turner at Brixton Academy around 10 years ago. My two favourites on the same night, it was a Reading/Leeds warm up gig so only announced a few days before.

Worst was probably Daniel Bedingfield, a friend asked me to go along with her. It was probably 20 years ago so I don’t remember much of it now but I do remember that he just rushed through the set.

I was dragged to a Green Day gig years ago and was pleasantly surprised.

Worst - Depeche Mode in Cardiff. Towards the end it was so self indulgent and u was gutted. Was a massive fan in the 80's but this put me off them. We watched a lot of people walking out.

Chrissy Hind too when she was supporting Rod Stewart I think. She was so intoxicated she couldn't get the words out.

Best - too many to mention but amongst them, Prince, Rolling Stones and Kaiser Chiefs.

I have seen the Kaiser chiefs twice and loved it both times. Recently seen a vid of Ricky Wilson pissed at the 02 arena tho 😂 definitely not how he was at Cardiff

Ooh I didn’t know that! 😄 I have seen him live when he was in alter bridge though, he has a gorgeous voice

Kasabian @ The King Power Stadium after Leicester had won the premier league

Sugarandspicee · 14/04/2023 22:52

I saw Limp Bizkit last night which was amazing except for the fact I got pulled under in the mosh pit and got trampled all on. Covered in bruises and aching today!

UnderPressureLikeACustomerInALushStore · 14/04/2023 22:53

Best: P!nk, seen her 5 times. She's fucking incredible.
The killers were also epic.
Queen & Adam Lambert insane.
Lady gaga also.

Worst:
Katy Perry was a bit shit. One direction were so boring.

Good: jessie J, The Wanted, Sam Fender.

I saw her at Bestival years ago and people were indeed throwing lemons at her.

Best: Prince at the 02, Flaming Lips at a festival in Hyde Park (forget the name), Pulp

Worst: Lou Reed - the sound kept cutting out and he'd get annoyed and walk off. N.E.R.D at V Festival- the atmosphere was really aggressive for some reason and fight's kept breaking out in the crowd
