I’m off to see Paramore tomorrow - super excited!
what’s the best and worst gigs you’ve been to and why?

Prodigy were the absolute best. Had an absolute blast, and could still hear them 3 days after 😂

GAW19 · 14/04/2023 21:25

Ohhh I'm going to see Paramore next week! So excited!
The best has been Biffy Clyro so far Smile

Plump82 · 14/04/2023 21:25

Best Depeche Mode. Can't really explain why, it was just unbelievable.
Worst Lisa Stanfield. Absolutely atrocious. Didn't sing her most well known songs, no stage presence. Just awful.

HarpendenHarpendenHarpenden · 14/04/2023 21:27

My worst was Venetian Snares. Actually had a fit of laughter and nearly fell over because it was so appalling. Every new song was hysterically awful. I could have died.

MadisonAvenue · 14/04/2023 21:29

Best was Green Day supported by Frank Turner at Brixton Academy around 10 years ago. My two favourites on the same night, it was a Reading/Leeds warm up gig so only announced a few days before.

Worst was probably Daniel Bedingfield, a friend asked me to go along with her. It was probably 20 years ago so I don’t remember much of it now but I do remember that he just rushed through the set.

SkaneTos · 14/04/2023 21:31

I have not been to many concerts, so I can't really mention one that was the worst.
But the best was Robyn, outdoor concert, 17 years ago.

ChocAuVin · 14/04/2023 21:31

Deus.
Olivia Tremor Control.
Prince.
Manchester Orchestra.

Stumbleine · 14/04/2023 21:33

Love Paramore!

mrstea301 · 14/04/2023 21:34

Prince was the best!

Stumbleine · 14/04/2023 21:35

Sorry to answer your question...

Best - can never beat Foo Fighters

Worst - probably Blondie (rubbish seats really far away)

Depeche Mode my best too, although I've seen them a few times.

Worst, Deep Purple. Not my thing at all.

Most unexpectedly good, Alice Cooper.

BCBird · 14/04/2023 21:36

Seen many bands but tbink Depeche Mode were brilliant as was Tom.Odell and Faithless. Fortunately never been to.any awful ones. Would be peed off. Seen Blur twice, 2nd time one of band members kept turning with his back to audience- asshole🙄

heidihigh · 14/04/2023 21:36

Best - Foo Fighters or the Killers
Worst - I saw the Zutons at a festival years ago. They mimed and the lead singer got aggressive when he was booed.

MrsJamin · 14/04/2023 21:37

Best - Taylor Hawkins tribute last year. Just unbelievable lineup and incredible music. Full of emotion celebrating a fabulous musician's life.
Worst - Incubus.

buddhasbelly · 14/04/2023 21:38

Went to the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert last year - the best but held for a very sad reason. It was wonderful to hear his friends on stage remember him and play his favourite music.

buddhasbelly · 14/04/2023 21:39

@MrsJamin how bizarre to post this at exactly the same time. It was incredible wasn’t it

Restinggoddess · 14/04/2023 21:40

OMD always give a great concert - and Depeche Mode, Human League
But the best have to be Madness - great fun

The worst was The Cure in Leeds last December - no atmosphere at all, had expected so much more

SnotSnotSnottySnot · 14/04/2023 21:42

Both Badly Drawn Boy and Blur were shite.

Depeche Mode bloody brilliant.

Surprise cracker was Kate Nash!

Ooh lush, have you seen them live before? This is my first time seeing them. Loved them since they first come out and their new album is AMAZING!

Oh difficult choice. INXS definitely up there - saw them in a tiny venue before they were big here. Robbie was incredible, but then so were Bon Jovi. Gah - I can’t choose!

Depeche mode look like they’d be amazing live to be fair 😊

Ooh I’m jealous - I’d love to see foo fighters 😍

Best - Bellowhead, their penultimate gig before they split, great party atmosphere
worse - Passenger, a lot if unnecessary swearing, left early because of it.

WarningToTheCurious · 14/04/2023 21:46

Blondie in a small venue (in their later years) were amazing.

I’ve been to loads of great gigs - Depeche Mode, The Cure, Squeeze, Beth Orton, New Order, Eurthymics, The Stranglers.

Hard to think of a bad one.
