malovitt · 13/08/2010 15:14

Yeasayer

meltedmarsbars · 13/08/2010 15:15

How do you get the time? And the babysitter? Envy

upahill · 13/08/2010 17:27

I want to go and see Enter Shakri next week but it falls on my lads birhtday. I've been trying to persuade him that he really wants to go but he is having none of it. (Bah humbug!!!)

So out to local eating place for a meal then for me Sad

There's already a thread on this.

Anyway,
Muse on Sept 10 (supports: White Rabbits, The Big Pink, Lily Allen)
Muse on Sept 11 (supports: I Am Arrows, White Lies, Biffy Clyro)
I Am Arrows on Sept 17th

That's it so far.

upahill · 13/08/2010 23:43

Well the thread must be pretty dormant. I haven't noticed any mentions of people getting excited about gigs recently.

Still can't get DS1 to see Enter Shakri on his birthday!! Sad

How old is he?

upahill · 13/08/2010 23:48

He's going to be 14.

I've tried to pursuade him to go to gigs for a while (not necessary with me).

He likes Scouting for Girls but said he would give that a miss, I suggested he went to see BassHunter who likes but that was a no as well.

The only one he has expressed an interest in is the killers but they are dormant while Brandon Flowers does his solo stuff!!

I was going to gigs since I was 13 and hoping he would too!!!
Never mind.

DH suggested that they all go to the Chinese Buffett at Preston while I go and see the gig
(hmmmm nice idea!!)

Ocean Colour Scene on 9th Oct.

Can't get regular babysitter otherwise I would be out every other month at gigs.

ninah · 13/08/2010 23:58

melted I'm at Green Man! weather looking a bit glum

upahill · 13/08/2010 23:59

I'm seeing Skunk at the academy in November. Not sure where else they are playing. Lat time I saw them was at the Appollo in Manchester probably about 13 years ago maybe more!

Oh that reminds me I'm seeing Motorhead the night before ( for umm about the 58th time in over 30 years!!! Blush

Green Man for me too - Flaming Lips, Unthanks, Laura Marling, Wild Beasts. If we survive the customary three day downpour.

upahill · 14/08/2010 00:00

Ninah, Come back and tell us all about it!

kittya · 14/08/2010 00:06

My friends are going, Im really jealous

mazzystartled · 14/08/2010 00:08

ooh are you there for the week ninah?
have you been before?

ninah · 14/08/2010 00:11

yes, the holiday camping and the festival
Have not been before but my friends are traders who do the festivals every year, they rate it
last year apparently it was super sunny
anyway they say it's a lovely setting and the people are chilled and friendly

LyraSilvertongue · 14/08/2010 00:12

My boys can't wait to be old enough to go to gigs. They're 8 and 6. Probably still a bit too young, but that all depends on the band and the venue.

ninah · 14/08/2010 00:16

fine for a festival lyra mine are 8 and 4

mazzystartled · 14/08/2010 00:17

Oh yes, it's a glorious location - this is our fourth time. Was lovely weather last year. Not looking too promising this time though. I'm off to the shops tomorrow for a see through umbrella and waterproof trousers for everyone.

ninah · 14/08/2010 00:21

v exciting! we are under equipped on the rain protection front, but it's not cold at least
see you there
