Podmum, you missed the most amazing gig ever Shock

Stumbleine · 15/09/2010 14:08

I'm going to see Paramore in November! (And yes I am aware I will probably be the oldest person in crowd) Grin

upahill · 15/09/2010 14:19

Nice one stumbline!

It's usually me and Dh whi are the oldest ones (unless it is a Lynard Skynard concert and then we are positively youthful!!)

We always look as if we have gone to keep our son company. The thing is I can not get DS1 to go to a gig. He's 14 for goodness sake!!!!!

Are you sure they gave you the right baby? I'd take him back if I were you Wink.

Dd is only 5, but I can't wait to take her to gigs. I did actually consider taking her to see K.T Tunstall (whom she likes), but came to my senses!

Stumbleine · 15/09/2010 15:04

Oh I saw Fun Lovin Criminals too many moons ago.

upahill · 15/09/2010 15:09

Stubeline, I've really want to at times. I have been going to gigs since I was 13 and he is now 14! The only interest he has shown is in the Killers who are now on a break while Brandon Flowers does his solo stuff. I have suggested Mumford and sons which amazingly (to me) loads of young people really like. He loves them and sings to himself in the shower every morning and evening! Following on from that I suggested that if he likes Mumford maybe he should listen to Mike Harding at 7.00pm on radio 2 but he knows I'm taking the Mick!!!

FLC were OK. Dh didn't like him and it wasn't the best gig ever but it was alright. I can't wait for Korn though!!

Stumbleine, I briefly considered taking DS2, who's 6, to Muse at Wembley but like you I came to my senses. It's lucky I didn't because it was mental. Although I guess we wouldn't have been standing if he'd come. Grin

LyraSilvertongue · 15/09/2010 17:46

I am considering doing a festival next year though. Might be a good way to break them in to gig-going.

Stumbleine · 16/09/2010 09:26

ratspeaker · 16/10/2010 21:07

Bowling for Soup in Glasgow tomorrow

upahill · 23/10/2010 15:25

Well a quick update.

Fun Lovin Criminals were OK

Manic Street Preachers were on form, looking and sounding very relaxed and there was a solo from JD Bradfield. Nicky Wire, ( I have had a serious long term crush on) looked a little like Paul Merton in a certain light!!

Korn apart from Jonathan Davies looking like a right chav in his AAdidas trackie bottoms and sleeveless vest were great.

Joe Bonamassa - Well I'm still swooning. Great Great gig and I've got 'Happier Times' on replay.

Next up is Motorhead and Skunk Ananise.

Hello, just joining this thread as I'm a big fan of live music.

So gigs planned for the rest of the year include The Tallest Man on Earth and Belle & Sebastian- anyone going to see them?
Also Micah P Hinson tonight.

From gigs I've been to this year I really recommend Yeasayer, The Duke & the King, Phosphorescent, and the Felice Brothers. Oh and the End of the Road festival is just brilliant, will be going again next year!
