Hi UNROOTED testers,

Welcome to your UNROOTED product test feedback thread - we're so excited to have you all here! 🌿✨

Over the next week, you'll be putting UNROOTED's Good Fibre Baobab Sachets to the test. This thread is where we'd love you to share your experiences as you go along.

You'll be trying one high-fibre sachet each day for seven days, incorporating it into your routine in whatever way works best for you. Whether that's blended in a smoothie, stirred into porridge, swirled into yoghurt, mixed into juice, or something else entirely, we'd love to hear how you're getting on.

Getting started

  • Had you heard of baobab before taking part in this test?
  • What were your first impressions when your products arrived?
  • Which recipe or drink are you planning to try first?

Using the sachets

  • What have you been mixing your sachets into?
  • How easy have you found it to incorporate into your daily routine?
  • What do you think of the taste and texture?
  • Have you discovered any favourite ways to enjoy it?

Your experience throughout the week

  • How are you finding the product as you continue testing?
  • Have you tried it in a few different recipes or drinks?
  • Has anything surprised you so far?
  • What are you enjoying most about the product?

Photos are encouraged if you're happy to share them 📸 We'd love to see your smoothies, breakfasts, juices and any other creative ways you're using the sachets.

Please make sure you're updating this thread regularly throughout the testing period - we're keen to hear about your experience as it develops, not just at the end.

UNROOTED's baobab sachets are designed to boost your daily fibre intake - as each sachet is 11% of your RDA of fibre. Fibre is essential for good gut health, so these boosters are super convenient to turning your normal breakfast into a high fibre breakfast. Having too much fibre in one go if you're not used to it can lead to stomach aches and bloating, so incorporating small inclusions of additional fibre more regularly is the key to bringing more fibre into your diet and feeling its benefits! Baobab also benefits from containing both soluble and insoluble fibre, supporting your gut from start to finish.

Thanks again for taking part, and happy testing!

Same issues here as others have mentioned - options are a bit limited if you're someone who doesn't eat breakfast or doesn't already have juices/ smoothies etc in their routine.

Thought I'd go a bit leftfield yesterday and I mixed it into the miso broth for my itsu pot. I have to admit it wasn't my finest idea, ruined a perfectly good lunch 🤣

I’ve been enjoying the product trial so far. I keep forgetting to take pictures but I’ve had it with my granola, yoghurt and fruit as well as on its own with water. My preference would be to have it with water. Only because it’s helpful in terms of getting me to drink more and I felt more full after having it that way.

It’s been mentioned already I think but I’ve found tearing open the sachet isn’t the easiest, it’s not a massive problem but if it were easier that would be helpful.

archaeoptyrx · 14/06/2026 09:53

Tried it in a smoothie yesterday and wasn't sure I liked the taste as much as I usually do. Tried again today but with stronger flavours - spinach, kiwi, blueberries, banana, ginger and kefir. Definitely preferred this one. I like the feeling of fullness and I'm pleasantly surprised that it hasn't upset my stomach.

Day 4 (and will be 5). Made the muesli recipe from the card. Really nice actually and the Baobab sachet can't be distinguished from the other flavours within. Serves 2
so I've saved half for tomorrow

from above comment

I was super excited to receive these and try them! I like the packaging and easy to store. I had my first one with water as wanted to see how easy to make and what it tasted like - it had a subtle citrus flavour, which was really refreshing. I’ve mixed into yoghurt to have with my breakfast with fruit, and this was really easy to use.

I’m trying to eat healthily as this will really help me moving forward to include added fibre into my meals.

I’m looking forward to trying more over the next week. I’d never heard of this brand or this type of supplement before so is great to have the opportunity to try it.

Reporting in with my feedback
Liked the look and feel of the box and packaging. Like others I would have preferred an easier opening to the sachet as I couldn't find a single pair of scissors and I don't have as much strength in my hands as I used to (arthritis)
I mixed the sachet in a glass of water and drank it first thing before breakfast. Slight citrus taste that was neither pleasant or unpleasant but quite neutral.

However after about 40 minutes I began to suffer horrendous cramps in my gut and awful wind! Went on for about an hour which was a nuisance as I was forced to delay going to work.

Tried again next day and same reaction..was like I'd eaten a plate of Jerusalem artichokes. Sorry to report but the rest went in the bin. Definitely not for me!

Charlvd · 14/06/2026 19:59

Never heard of this product. Have tried it in porridge, smoothies , added to yoghurt. Was very pleasant to use and eat. Would definitely buy and add it to my diet. I could always use more fibre in my diet and this is a very convenient way to add it in.

Scareystress · 14/06/2026 20:14

Day 5
As I have a cholesterol lowering drinking yogurt after evening meal, decided to blend the powder i with that , along with strawberries and blueberries as a mini smoothie. Good, thick consistency, took the edge off the sweetness.

Getting started

  • Had you heard of baobab before taking part in this test? I had heard of the tree but didn’t know anything about it as a supplement.
  • What were your first impressions when your products arrived? Lovely packaging, the sachets are ready handy as I tend to be a bit of an estimator when measuring things myself.
Using the sachets
  • What have you been mixing your sachets into? I tried it with water first to get a sense of the taste and texture.
  • How easy have you found it to incorporate into your daily routine? Really easy to just add a sachet into whatever I’m making.
  • What do you think of the taste and texture? Not offensive, tastes very natural. It’s fine to drink with water and you can’t really taste it in a smoothie for example.
  • Have you discovered any favourite ways to enjoy it? Smoothie! Mango and raspberry particularly.
Your experience throughout the week
  • How are you finding the product as you continue testing? As above it’s really easy to just whack it in to something in already making.
  • Have you tried it in a few different recipes or drinks? Smoothie, porridge and with water.
  • Has anything surprised you so far? Not particularly.
  • What are you enjoying most about the product? The ease of use and the minimal effect it has on taste and texture - other supplements eg collagen have really affected these and it puts me off using.

Hadn’t heard of unrooted before so excited to try! Like that it’s easy to hide in things like smoothies which I make anyway!

tried it in water but it’s difficult to mix so gutted about that; it’s an interesting flavour can’t really describe it

To date have struggled how to take it as I can’t tolerate breakfast and I don’t eat sweet things. So just mix it in with a glass of cordial which is fine.

I’m bloating. I reckon my system needs time to tolerate it so today will do half now half At at about 4pm.

collywobble · 15/06/2026 08:45

Today I mixed my daily sachet into rhubarb yoghurt with chia seeds and a little ginger for an extra zing.

The result was tangy, refreshing and really satisfying. I’m finding the sachets incredibly easy to use and mix into different foods, but when I’m short on time, I’m equally happy to simply stir one into water and drink it.

After using them consistently, I’ve genuinely noticed a difference in my morning routine, which suggests it’s doing the trick! I’ve also been pleasantly surprised that I haven’t experienced any bloating or uncomfortable “windy” feelings, which can sometimes be an issue for me when increasing my fibre intake.

I’m enjoying experimenting with new flavour combinations and looking forward to seeing how I feel as the product test continues

Made the lemon and blueberry chia pudding jar today. Really lovely lemony flavour. Again though the recipe makes a huge quantity and only uses one sachet, so not much of a fibre boost per portion.

Love the packaging except could do with a tear strip to open sachet. I wasn't expecting a powder substance but then ive never heard of baobab. I thought it would be like crunched up all bran. Tried it with yogurt, wallnuts and orange honey. Couldn't taste a difference but I did try the powder on its own and I wasn't keen on the flavour. However as I said I couldn't taste the difference when mixed with yogurt. Im not usually a breakfast person so bought the yogurt in for trial. I think i would prefer a sachet of crunched up stuff that I can eat straight from the sachet without having to mix it. Again not my taste so something more earthy tasting. Great Im getting to try them. My 15yr old also had some as she suffers badly with constipation. She quite like the taste but then she does love sour sweets! Will feed back again

AllTheChaos · 15/06/2026 13:00

Tried this in a sweet fruit smoothie today (apple juice, mango, raspberries, strawberries, peaches), and whilst I couldn’t taste it as such, it did make the overall taste of the smoothie a little less sweet than usual. Not a bad thing, and to be honest I’m not sure I’d have noticed if I hadn’t been carefully tasting it to check for any difference. Again it blended in really well, no lumps. I’m not sure if it’s having an effect on my system, but it think it might be helping to, errr, clear things out shall we say!

dazzlingdeborahrose · 15/06/2026 13:09

I’ve mostly been using this in yoghurt. It makes the yoghurt almost paste like so I’ve had to add a lot more yoghurt than I would normally have. Today, i mixed it into yoghurt but then added kefir which loosened it down nicely. Added some berries. No real taste. I’m struggling slightly to come up with anything else to add it to. I don’t eat a lot of saucy food. I might try it in my morning mocha drink.
i was aware of baobab before the test. The packaging is fresh and attractive. I haven’t had any issues opening the packets.

thindes78 · 15/06/2026 17:18

I keep forgetting to take pictures but I’ve been popping it with my porridge. I also popped it in my matcha, and oat milk drink. I used my velvetiser to mix it with my matcha, and oat milk, which mixes up really well. I used a fork to mix it in my porridge and no issues with that
I do prefer it in with my porridge, but matcha tea also a great way to drink it.

My frustration is, I have arthritis in my hands, and struggle to tear the sachet.

Magpie2310 · 15/06/2026 18:43

Tried today's just mixed in with plain greek yoghurt. I made the mistake of eating it when the kids were home... there was a slight taste of the sachet flavour, barely noticeable but I went for plain yoghurt to try and see if the flavour was actually noticeable or not, but the hint of it didn't put the kids off! They would have eaten the whole thing if I wasn't hungry, and there hadn't been a high fibre sachet in it!

hermancakedestroyer · 15/06/2026 20:14

I tried a sachet in strawberry yoghurt and it was easy to do and I couldn’t taste it within the yoghurt. This was a pleasant surprise for me. I’m finding it easy to sprinkle it on salads, in soups and in yoghurt. It’s a quick and easy way to up your fibre intake.

Fillybuster · 15/06/2026 21:34

I really wanted to like this product but overall I don’t think it’s for me.

Whilst not as bad as some, I’ve definitely noticed bloating and discomfort ( yes - Jerusalem artichokes is a great reference point!!) which is unpleasant. Added to that the fact I don’t eat breakfast-type foods, and it doesn’t work added into coffee, tea or soup (all of which I have now tried!)

I really like the idea of a supplement that helps increase my fibre intake, so I’m a bit disappointed that this doesn’t quite float my boat, but the overall fibre increase is outweighed by the side effects and by really not fitting into my healthy, breakfast-avoidant, non- smoothie-drinking, diet!

MrsMabelThorpe · 15/06/2026 22:16

I have just made a batch of overnight oats - will report back tomorrow! I do feel as though I have ended up with more juice and smoothies than I would usually have, which isn't ideal from a fruit sugars/acid point of view, so hoping the oats will be better.

Terminatrix · 15/06/2026 23:33

I've tried a few of the recipes and they all taste great. I plan to purchase this product going forward. It really helps with digestive issues and is a good source of fibre.

Day 6 - yesterday
made protein balls. Batch of 12 with one sachet, so will be eaten over several days. Combined chopped dates, mixed nuts, , peanut butter, choc shot syrup, cinnamon and beat in mixed seeds after blending.
Could not taste the powder at all - so best day yet, as not been liking the taste.

Day 7 - a different version of overnight oats, using raspberries and blueberries in place of the apple and cinnamon mix on day 3.
again, slightly more sour than would have been without powder.
