Hi UNROOTED testers,

Welcome to your UNROOTED product test feedback thread - we're so excited to have you all here! 🌿✨

Over the next week, you'll be putting UNROOTED's Good Fibre Baobab Sachets to the test. This thread is where we'd love you to share your experiences as you go along.

You'll be trying one high-fibre sachet each day for seven days, incorporating it into your routine in whatever way works best for you. Whether that's blended in a smoothie, stirred into porridge, swirled into yoghurt, mixed into juice, or something else entirely, we'd love to hear how you're getting on.

Getting started

  • Had you heard of baobab before taking part in this test?
  • What were your first impressions when your products arrived?
  • Which recipe or drink are you planning to try first?

Using the sachets

  • What have you been mixing your sachets into?
  • How easy have you found it to incorporate into your daily routine?
  • What do you think of the taste and texture?
  • Have you discovered any favourite ways to enjoy it?

Your experience throughout the week

  • How are you finding the product as you continue testing?
  • Have you tried it in a few different recipes or drinks?
  • Has anything surprised you so far?
  • What are you enjoying most about the product?

Photos are encouraged if you're happy to share them 📸 We'd love to see your smoothies, breakfasts, juices and any other creative ways you're using the sachets.

Please make sure you're updating this thread regularly throughout the testing period - we're keen to hear about your experience as it develops, not just at the end.

UNROOTED's baobab sachets are designed to boost your daily fibre intake - as each sachet is 11% of your RDA of fibre. Fibre is essential for good gut health, so these boosters are super convenient to turning your normal breakfast into a high fibre breakfast. Having too much fibre in one go if you're not used to it can lead to stomach aches and bloating, so incorporating small inclusions of additional fibre more regularly is the key to bringing more fibre into your diet and feeling its benefits! Baobab also benefits from containing both soluble and insoluble fibre, supporting your gut from start to finish.

Thanks again for taking part, and happy testing!

Had I heard of baobab before? Yes but only in terms of the tree and not the actual powder.
My first impressions were really good. I have used various fibre powders before and have always had to scoop them out of a bigger tub. I like the pre-portioned aspect. However I did discover that the sachets look like they are just paper but are actually plastic lined inside. A sachet accidentally ended up in the dishwasher which is how I found out.
Plan on trying lots of different recipes- I will make the yoghurt tonight and will try some yoghurt recipes tomorrow.

Yum!

Really impressed with the sustainable packaging, I had over night oats this morning and they were extra delicious, going to make again tomorrow and will photograph. Didn’t look very pleasing in tuppaware today.

Fillybuster · 10/06/2026 17:17

My box arrived yesterday but I didn’t get home in time to do anything with it until this morning.

Really like the packaging and impressed by ingredients & the narrative re sustainability etc.

I haven’t heard of the company or the product before and super curious about how the trial goes this week.

Day 1: wildly unexciting, with some trepidation I mixed it into my breakfast orange juice and was slightly disappointed that I couldn’t taste it at all.

I’ll try harder tomorrow!

BigBugs · 10/06/2026 17:20

Hello! Received yesterday & tried my first sachet this morning mixed into Greek yogurt with strawberries. Great first impression and didn’t alter the taste too much!
The recipe cards look great so looking forward to trying those.
Handy box to keep the sachets in that doesn’t take up too much space.
Will return to the thread in a few days to update 😊

slapmyarseandcallmemary · 10/06/2026 17:20

I've only just received mine today! Looking forward to trying them out tomorrow in a smoothie 🙂 I hadn't heard of the product before, but the recipes look delicious 🤤

MumtoAnya · 10/06/2026 17:24

Tried the fibre today in my bowl of porridge, didn’t add to the taste and felt so good eating something even more nutritious :)

SkinnyLatteExtraHotPlease · 10/06/2026 17:29

My box arrived yesterday, nice, natural looking packaging.
I made the overnight oats as I eat that mostly every day .. I tweaked as I used dairy yoghurt & milk.
My normal recipe is -
Oats/Chia Seeds/Collagen/Fruit/Milk/Yoghurt - I just added a sachet to this.
Result - much thicker than my normal mix & much more filling! I was stuffed (yep, I couldn't believe it either!) whereas normally I'm full up, kept me fuller for longer.
Going to make the chia pudding next.

NerrSnerr · 10/06/2026 17:45

Mine arrived yesterday and I had the first sachet just as a drink mixed with water as I wanted to actually taste it. I was very nervous when I tried it but was really pleasantly surprised and it was just like lemon squash.

will do a smoothy tomorrow and see what that’s like

Sachets arrived yesterday. Lovely, premium feel to the packaging. The sachet opened easily and didn’t spill at all.

Used this morning for the first time. Simply mixed it into my porridge with a banana and a touch of strawberry jam. It was actually really good. I initially mixed it into the porridge and it thickened it and I tried it like that. It was slightly too tart tasting. Then I added more milk, which took away the tartness and then I could barely taste it. Really very enjoyable!

Going to try it with strawberry overnight oats next I think.

Ruthie41 · 10/06/2026 18:12

Tried my first sachet in a glass of tropical juice today. I am not one for smoothies, as I don't like fruit soup 😐 But I was really pleased that the product did not thicken my juice significantly. I am looking forward to experimenting with the rest of the product. I have added a sachet to my overnight oats, for tomorrow. I have also checked out the Unrooted website, and I am going to give these a go too! https://unrooteddrinks.com/blogs/the-good-blog/no-bake-high-fibre-granola-bars

I mixed my first sachet in a breakfast smoothie with banana, raspberries, kefir, oats and milk. I have oral allergy syndrome and found my mouth was quite sore afterwards! I will have to try the baobab powder without the additional ingredients such as raspberries and kefir which may have made my mouth stingy. The flavour was nice and I liked the packaging. I know about baobab trees but didn't appreciate they could be used for food (for humans)

Mine arrived yesterday. Simple packaging. The sachets are very powdery so ensure you dint spill.

i mixed into plain yoghurt with kiwi (desperate for better gut health). Fingers crossed.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 10/06/2026 19:42

Just had my first sachet. Mixed into greek yoghurt. There was a lot more in the sachet than i expected so i had to use more yoghurt than normal to get it mixed in. No discernible taste that I noticed. Unfortunately all 3 of the recipes that came with mine weren’t suitable due to my diabetes so I’ll need to have a think about how I use the powders over the next few days.

MachineBee · 10/06/2026 19:47

Mixed the powder into Greek Yoghurt and melon, with a sprinkle of seeds. Very slight after taste of citrus but otherwise perfectly fine.

Mixed mine into a chocolate protein shake. It gave it a tang! Might work better in a strawberry shake I think.

Mine arrived today. I’d never heard of the brand before, so interested to try.

kristinage · 10/06/2026 20:53

My sachets came yesterday and I added one of them to my smoothie. I liked that the powder didn’t get lumpy. It actually made nice consistency. I really enjoyed it. Thank you

Terminatrix · 10/06/2026 21:14

I have tried out a few sachets now. The inclusion of the recipe cards really helps. I've added the sachets to porridge and smoothies and I am very pleased with the flavour and texture. They have helped with my occasional constipation too.

fififrillyfolle · 11/06/2026 07:30

Package arrived. Excited to try! I like the design of the packaging, it looks vibrant but natural, a bit like a fancy herbal tea.

I hadn't realised it is 100% baobab powder. Interesting. I have heard about the benefits of baobab before and had it as a tea, but not seen it in the UK.

Day 1: I was slightly disappointed with the recipe cards, as they are very breakfast focused, and because I do 16:8 fasting I rarely eat things like yoghurt bowls and smoothies. I do like the idea of having fibre as the first thing I consume though, so decided to just follow the pack instructions and mix with water for the first day.

The powder itself has a smell. Not hugely unpleasant but when mixed with water it has a faintly rotten aroma. This didn't make me want to drink it. I dutifully chugged it down. It was just ok. Quite gritty. Not something I'd drink for pleasure.

Day 2: Mixed it with chilled water from the fridge, which made it taste a bit less like bin juice, more of a vague citric tang, more bearable. It does create quite a lot of foam, most of which is left in the glass at the end. Does this mean I'm missing out on some of the fibre content? 🤔

Day 2 - after trying in porridge yesterday, wanted to get the actual test of the product.

Had difficulty opening the sachet, had to cut - maybe a tear point would make it easier?

Used in usual bottled water from fridge.
did not like the taste, slightly earthy and powdery.

Intending to put in overnight oats later for breakfast tomorrow. Will do apple, cinnamon & raisin mix. Not sure whether to mix powder in with the fruit, or with the Greek yogurt before layering?

ThaneOfGlamis · 11/06/2026 08:08

Day 2, had in porridge with chia and almond butter. Cooking it in the porridge made the chalky texture I had in the yoghurt completely disappear. There is a tang flavour that meant I added more honey than normal, so probably better if sweetened with fruit. Not unpleasant though.

I wasn’t organised this morning so decided to just add a sachet to a glass of orange juice. I stirred rather than shaking it and it was a bit clumpy, wouldn’t recommend. Couldn’t taste it and it made the juice a little thicker but ok overall, just would be better shaken.

MissMoneypennyAgain · 11/06/2026 08:14

I've tried my first sachet for breakfast this morning - unexcitingly mixed into yoghurt with muesli on top, but thought it would be a good way to see if it was palatable without lots of other flavours! It is - a slightly tangy taste, but not unpleasant... but I wouldn't be seeking it out just for the taste! The powder slightly thickened the yoghurt, which was good (it's annoying when some protein powder weirdly makes yoghurt runny!).

I liked the box design, and the ease of sachets, though I do wonder if this would make them more expensive. I'd heard of Baobob before, but not its fibre benefits; I'd love to know what advantages it has over other fibre sources. It has slightly more fibre in it than the Naturya gut feel flaxseed blend I've been sprinkling on cereal before, but at the moment I'd probably choose the Naturya as it also provides more other nutrients and the pink powder is more appealing!

starlight36 · 11/06/2026 08:14

I mixed the powder into plain Greek yoghurt. As it was a bit powdery yesterday in the water - and because I wasn’t shaking it - I made sure I stirred it in thoroughly and left it for a bit in the fridge before adding my muesli. It does add a slight cutesy taste. I do prefer my yoghurt without it.
i definitely have to use it as more of an added ingredient as am not a huge fan of the taste on its own
