Hi UNROOTED testers,

Welcome to your UNROOTED product test feedback thread - we're so excited to have you all here! 🌿✨

Over the next week, you'll be putting UNROOTED's Good Fibre Baobab Sachets to the test. This thread is where we'd love you to share your experiences as you go along.

You'll be trying one high-fibre sachet each day for seven days, incorporating it into your routine in whatever way works best for you. Whether that's blended in a smoothie, stirred into porridge, swirled into yoghurt, mixed into juice, or something else entirely, we'd love to hear how you're getting on.

Getting started

  • Had you heard of baobab before taking part in this test?
  • What were your first impressions when your products arrived?
  • Which recipe or drink are you planning to try first?

Using the sachets

  • What have you been mixing your sachets into?
  • How easy have you found it to incorporate into your daily routine?
  • What do you think of the taste and texture?
  • Have you discovered any favourite ways to enjoy it?

Your experience throughout the week

  • How are you finding the product as you continue testing?
  • Have you tried it in a few different recipes or drinks?
  • Has anything surprised you so far?
  • What are you enjoying most about the product?

Photos are encouraged if you're happy to share them 📸 We'd love to see your smoothies, breakfasts, juices and any other creative ways you're using the sachets.

Please make sure you're updating this thread regularly throughout the testing period - we're keen to hear about your experience as it develops, not just at the end.

UNROOTED's baobab sachets are designed to boost your daily fibre intake - as each sachet is 11% of your RDA of fibre. Fibre is essential for good gut health, so these boosters are super convenient to turning your normal breakfast into a high fibre breakfast. Having too much fibre in one go if you're not used to it can lead to stomach aches and bloating, so incorporating small inclusions of additional fibre more regularly is the key to bringing more fibre into your diet and feeling its benefits! Baobab also benefits from containing both soluble and insoluble fibre, supporting your gut from start to finish.

Thanks again for taking part, and happy testing!

Sachets arrived here too. Box looks smart and recipes are an unexpected bonus. I'd heard of baobab before but never tried it. Looking forward to getting started, I'm not sure whether to go for a smoothie or to stir it into a fruit and yoghurt bowl. Update to follow!

collywobble · 09/06/2026 13:21

Mine has arrived too this morning- the recipes do look good - I’m going to adapt the blueberry chia with some raspberries I think as I have some frozen ones in and have all the rest of the ingredients in already.

Lemonadefever2000 · 09/06/2026 13:25

Got my pack today. Like the bold design, love the paper sachet - feels much more natural which reflects the 100% wild baobab fruit message. This is really motivating for me, the fact it doesn't have any other added ingredients. I actually think "no other ingredients" or similar as sub-text would help make this message more salient.
Unsure about the "Do less feel better" tagline - I get it but it makes me feel like a slave to the wellness industry - buying my way into good health!

Tried the sachet in water. Slightly annoying that you have to shake rather than stir, I had to rummage around for a water bottle to shake it in whereas I'd normally drink from a glass. Drink was tasty, I like citrus and like the fact it wasn't sweet. Quite a subtle flavour which I liked.

Planning to try it in a smoothie next and I love chia pudding so planning to try that too.

It says 3.2g of fibre per sachet but I'm not really sure what that translates too. Is that the recommended daily intake of fibre, is that over and beyond? Would be great to have a reference point maybe on the back.

Virtualhelp · 09/06/2026 13:48

Recieved my box today too. The recipes look nice although I may adapt to what I have. I like the the packaging is minimal, and recyclable. Really looking forward to trying this as I don’t think I’ve ever had baobab before.

MachineBee · 09/06/2026 14:30

Got my box today. Agree the packaging is good. I would have liked to see some nutritional information on the box as I’m doing the Zoe regime and I can’t register this supplement as it’s not got all the necessary info. I’m presuming you can add it to diary yoghurt as I’m not Vegan and I’m not keen on dairy free. I’ve added it to some cranberry juice. It tastes ok and the consistency is palatable.

Also received my box today. The recipes do look nice and I think I'll try the chia pudding one first. I've seen baobab trees in Africa before, but not heard about the benefits of the fruit. I also have no idea as to what the ideal fibre goals are to know whether a 3.2g boost is good. Is it aimed at vegan diets as all recipes mention plant based milk/ dairy free yogurt?
I've tried the first sachet just shaken with water in my protein shaker bottle. It's got a slight powdery mouth feel and a subtle smell and taste. I think it might be better added to something - will try that tomorrow!

prettypeace · 09/06/2026 22:00

Got my box today but arrived too late for breakfast so I mixed it with water. First impressions were good - the sachets are small and easily transportable. I easily slipped one in my bag and had the drink while visiting a relative which was great. Found the drink slightly tart so not pleasant on its own. I'm sure it will be more paletable tomorrow when I have it with porridge.

Roundaboot · 10/06/2026 07:27

My sachets and cards arrived yesterday too and I've just had the first sachet. I just mixed it into water as I wanted to see how it tasted on its own. I just stirred it into a glass of water using a teaspoon. It took a little mixing but it did dissolve quite nicely with no clumps which was a pleasant surprise!
The taste is fine - quite neutral and bland really but not in an unpleasant way. Slightly chalky texture and there is definitely a bit of a citrus taste. I'd be quite happy to drink it in plain water again but I will try it in a glass of juice tomorrow as I expect that the neutral flavour of the sachet will mean that it'll mix well with stronger flavours.
I'm looking forward to trying the recipes too!

ThaneOfGlamis · 10/06/2026 07:46

It arrived yesterday and I had with breakfast today. First impressions are that I like how clear it is on the packet that there are no other added ingredients. I am trying to avoid upf ingredients, so it would have been a no from me if it had been filled with additional junk. Opening and pouring from the packet would have been easier if you could tear from the side.

It mixed easily into my yoghurt with chia seeds. I couldn't taste any particular flavour once mixed in. It did make the texture a but gritty/chalky. I will try soaking it overnight another day to see if that makes a difference.

Also received my box of sachets yesterday.
interesting recipe cards, but more inclined to adapt with ingredients I have.

Tried in porridge this morning. Added to 50g oats and 170ml semi-skimmed milk before microwaving. Stirred in very well to cold ingredients. Didn’t notice any difference in texture once cooked

Tasted (before adding usual sliced banana and handful of blueberries), and would not have picked up any taste change if I had not known something had been added. Subtle sweet/sour. Also slight citrus smell.
No change to texture - wonder if may have been if stirred in before cooking?

i think will try in water tomorrow to find the raw test - should probably have done that on day1.

Happy testing everyone!

First sachet today. I am in the office and usually eat breakfast there, so bought a fresh orange juice and added the powder to the top and gave it a good shake to mix. I really can't tell there's anything in there - it's orange juice with bits but there is no discernable difference in taste or texture. Very easy on the go!

I like the paper sachets, easy to just slip one in my bag. Like a PP, it would be handy if there was a tear off corner so easier to control the flow of powder esp if like me you are trying to do this out of the house into a small container rather than sprinkling into a bowl or something.

chilledteacher · 10/06/2026 09:05

Day one-mixed into porridge with Blueberrries and a teaspoon of golden syrup. Definitely feels more powdery and I'm not sure of the smell. But tastes ok.

Mine arrived yesterday but as I was out and returned late I am starting today.
I thought that the packet looked great and was a handy size. It was a different style box than I had imagined - I thought it would be similar to a Lemsip box and look more medicinal. I like the fresh blue colour and the design - presumably the baobab tree? I like the fact that there is no plastic involved with the cardboard box and paper sachets. Sachet size reminded me of some of the hot chocolate or coffee packs that you get in hotels. Sachet is easy to carry in a handbag, if out and about.
The recipe cards look good - maybe quite a few ingredients on them that I normally have. It also assumes everyone is dairy free - as a household we aren't.
I had heard of baobab - I don't think I have knowingly consumed it before but have used it in skincare products and recognise the smell.
I tried it in a drink form, the powder itself didn't smell of anything. Maybe a sign it doesn't contain lots of artificial flavourings? I did taste a little chalky in my water and wasn't the strongest taste - a slight hint of citrus. It wasn't unpleasant but was did feel like something I was drinking for health purposes rather than necessary for the taste of the drink itself. I understand why trying the powder in different recipes may make it more tasty.

outnumbered77 · 10/06/2026 09:17

Second sachet today - I had an overripe mango in the fruit bowl so decided to mix it into a mango smoothie. Tastes fine and mixed in well with the nutribullet. Maybe a very slight chalky mouth feel but not unpleasant. Fibre goals seem to be 30g per day, so this isn't contributing hugely.

starlight36 · 10/06/2026 09:17

I meant to say on the recipe cards that there are quite a few ingredients that I don't normally buy so I may be adapting these.

queenoftheschoolrun · 10/06/2026 09:27

I hadn't heard of baobab before.
I like the packaging and branding. Would have liked more information about what a 3.2g fibre boost actually represents as part of my daily goals.
The recipe cards didn't appeal to me so for day one I mixed it into my milk to have with my cereal which was very easy! I couldn't really taste anything different.
I've been feeling slightly nauseous since eating it though. It might just be a coincidence. I'll try it again tomorrow and see how I get on.

Got my box yesterday and tried it with muesli this morning. Never tried baobab before, it mixed well with the muesli and I am pleasantly surprised by the taste and texture. I think it would go well in smoothie and fruit salad.

MachineBee · 10/06/2026 10:45

I’m planning to add mine to a bowl of yoghurt and fruit later today, but wanted to comment on how I feel.

Had the first sachet yesterday afternoon and got quite a burst of energy last night. However, couldn’t settle at bedtime and ended up with 3 visits to the loo for long pees each time so wondered if somehow it is acting as a bit of a diuretic.

Feeling bright this morning as I did eventually sleep well.

Brittaniagirl · 10/06/2026 10:47

Arrived today and loved packaging
added to Greek yogurt and berries and don’t notice any taste issues
fingers crossed!

Shaunaansco · 10/06/2026 10:53

Just added mine to Greek yogurt and fruit and honestly can't tell the difference.

prettypeace · 10/06/2026 11:56

In a rush this morning so added the sachet to muesli. Was pleasantly surprised as my muesli is a bit too sweet so this slightly tart flavour balanced it well. I'm used to adding powdered collagen supplements to food so didn't mind the texture. I could do this regularly - it's an easy change to make if it makes a difference. Wouldn't like the sachet mixed with water again (felt too similar to the horrid Fybogel I was prescribed for IBS). Didn't like the film left on the glass, but I feel confident that added to food or drink this will be palatable so looking forward to the rest of the trial.🙂

Eurovision · 10/06/2026 12:48

Second sachet today. Mixed into porridge. I could taste the citrus flavour which was odd at first but after a few bites it was fine. An easy way to increase fibre.

collywobble · 10/06/2026 13:06

Have made the start on the recipe this morning for overnight chia pudding I like how well it mixes. I had tried a similar one from H&B and it just didn’t mix well at all so this was a good start as I don’t like faff ! Quick and easy today with it in my Greek yogurt and raspberry bowl which was again easy to mix and no obvious taste to put me off.

Tried first sachet today, mixed into a banana and strawberry smoothie with Greek yoghurt and oat milk. Couldn’t taste the baobab powder at all but felt virtuous knowing I was getting a fibre boost 😇
