Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

Better than other washing liquids do, less dried out.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

We usually use Ecover or Fairy antibacterial and I'd say it's a bit more gentle than Ecover on my skin, much more so than antibacterial Fairy.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Probably not, TBH. It is better for my skin, but I can just put on moisturizer after washing up for the same effect.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Probably not unless they had particularly sensitive skin, and then I probably wouldn't because of the additive perfumes which would likely irritate their skin.

NinthWave · 18/11/2010 18:40

Q1: Hands still felt a bit dry, but I am washing them all the time as have a newborn. DH doesn't use gloves any more as he finds the new Fairy liquid much less harsh on his skin.

Q2: It smelt much nicer, need to use less of it, good sized bottle

Q3: Not sure, probably only if it was on offer. Usually use supermarket own brands which are about half that price.

Q4: Only if the subject came up in conversation; wouldn't make a point of recommending it really.

EvilEyeButterPie · 18/11/2010 18:55

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

Same really. DH jsut rolled his eyes when I asked him...

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

I didn't think it cleaned as well as normal fairy

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Don't think so, unless it was much cheaper than normal fairy or the shop had run out.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

No

BeatRoute · 18/11/2010 19:11

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

It made my hands FEEL soft but actually after a few days they became quite dry and flaky.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

I normally use Fairy liquid anyway but I found this variation to be not quite as good as the normal one.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

I probably wouldn't. I enjoyed the smell of it but the effects weren't that great.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

I wouldn't recommend it but would probably tell my friends about it.

SantasMooningArse · 18/11/2010 19:20

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I found my hands did feel a bit softer (no mean feat in carnival season!), a bit like they feel after lying is a moisturising bath; Dh however said he noticed nothing in particular.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid? It looked very similar to the Asda cucumber brand DH often buys tbh, you wouldn;t see a difference apart from the label.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer) Probably not- DH does most of the washing up and said it wasn;t any different to cheaper brands.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

I've mentioned it to Mum who likes to care for her hands; I can;t honestly say dishwashing is my fave topic of chat when I see friends though

saorachd · 18/11/2010 19:50

Q1 Much softer hands after using it. Dh agreed that it shifts diesel better than ordinary Fairy. Bear

Q2 It lasted well (I washed some dishes just to see) and it was good at cleaning baked in food if you soaked the dish for a while. It is also brilliant at removing blood from clothing.

Q3 Yes, I would.

Q4 Yes.

CasaBevron · 18/11/2010 19:51

Questions:
Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

The skin on my hands tends to feel dry and 'tight' after washing up. With this product they were less so, but I still needed to moisturise afterwards.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

A bit less bubbly. Otherwise no difference.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Probably not. I noticed no difference in the cleaning power of the product, and would not buy this in place of the huge own-brand bottle I can get for a pound in Sainsbury's.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Again, probably not. I can't see any outstanding qualities in this product that would make me recommend it over any other.

lynnethlou · 18/11/2010 19:58

Q1 I tend to get fairly dry hands after washing up, and my hands did feel softer and less dry.

Q2 I normally use fairy anyway, as I think it lasts longer, and this one was the same.

Q3 I possibly would buy again, particularly if on offer.

Q4 I might, it if it came up in conversation.

Hammy01 · 18/11/2010 20:18

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?
It didn't dry my hands out as much and visitors were quick to help wash up with the bonus of Olay to moisturise as they washed the pots!

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?
Fairy always lasts longer than other brands and this product stayed true to form.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)
Yes if it was on offer

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?
Yes, and everyones been testing it too!

AVL · 18/11/2010 20:34

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

We didn't notice any difference from the Fairy we normally use. Leaves my hands softer than supermarket brands.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

It is better than supermarket brands, lasting longer with more bubbles. No noticeable difference from my normal Fairy.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

If it was on special offer I might buy it.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

No, it doesn't differ from normal Fairy much so I don't see the benefit. It is more of a gimmick.

kludge · 18/11/2010 20:49

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?
To be honest I didn't notice that my hands were any more moisturised than when I use my normal washing up liquid. My DH said it feels less harsh than other washing up liquids.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?
It cleaned the dishes just as well, and copes very well with baked-on food. Perhaps I had to use slightly less of the Fairy than my normal Ecover.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)
If it was on BOGOF, perhaps. At full price I would not go out of my way to buy it.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?
I haven't specifically recommended it but I did mention it to my parents.

Any other comments?
It smells really nice but it is more of a shower gel smell. I can't get past the feeling I am adding shower gel to the washing up water, especially as it looks like it too, as it is pearlescent.

greensnail · 18/11/2010 21:00

Q1 It made my hands feel slightly softer than normal after washing dishes. DH noticed no difference.

Q2 It worked just as well as my normal liquid. It smelt lovely but I found the smell slightly offputting as it smelt more like shower gel than washing up liquid. Would have been great when I was pregnant though as I couldn't stand the smell of normal washing up liquid then!

Q3 I don't think I would buy it again as I didn't like the showery smell for dishes.

Q4 Would possibly recommend, if it came up in conversation and they had dry hands from washing up.

DancingThroughLife · 18/11/2010 21:42

Hi, I had the lovely silk and orchid one.

Q1 DH thinks they made his hands softer, but 'that might be because I mentioned it'. I can't say I noticed a real difference

Q2 It smells pretty. But it doesn't smell like a washing up liquid. Bath bubbles yes, washing up no. But I usually use the Original And Best Green Fairy Liquid and honestly, I don't like this one as much.

Q3 No. I normally buy Fairy when it's on offer anyway (stock up when it's cheaper), so I won't actually save anything by buying a more expensive one on offer. Plus, I don't think it's any better than what I normally use. And it smells like bath bubbles, not washing up.

Q4 I don't think so, unless they have a particular aversion to the smell of washing up liquid.

Any other comments?
While it's supposed to moisturise your hands - and I think it did a bit - I actually found it made the dishes more slippery. I've had four mugs chipped from them slipping out of my hands, and broken the handle off my favourite massive Bloomingdales brown mug Sad It was the perfect size for a hot chocolate in winter and now I have to find a new perfect mug Sad Blush

Also, I like the 'squeaky clean' thing. I don't get it from this, but I do get it from the normal stuff.

eatyourveg · 19/11/2010 07:58

1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

Not sure it made much difference although there was a much stronger perfume smell

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

Certainly thicker almost like shampoo and like normal fairy you hardly need any to make a decent lather unlike my usual brand (supermarket own)

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

£1.50 is a bit steep compared to my usual brand but if it was on offer I would probably consider it as a once in a while treat

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

If the occasion arose when we were talking about such things then I suppose yes I would

SpecialPatrolGroup · 19/11/2010 11:36

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I felt the difference - as if I'd used moisturiser but nobody else really noticed

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

My hands feel dry after using my normal brand and I have to put on moisturiser - I didn't after using this one - well I did, but out of habit rather than need!

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

If it was on special offer I definitely would - I only buy washing liquid on special offers these days

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

I have already

MinnieMummy · 19/11/2010 14:12

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I did feel a difference - slightly moisturised but DH (who washes up WAY more than me) didn't.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

Great, as good, no complaints! Dishes are clean.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Yes if on special offer.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Yes

Other comments: the smell is lovely! We've got peach and mandarin. Yum.

LacksDaisies · 19/11/2010 19:25

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

It made them feel softer than with my usual washing up liquid, and I didn't notice the drying effect that other liquids, including other Fairy fragrances, can have on my skin. My daughter noticed when I was applying her eczema cream. My husband liked that it made his hands feel softer and less dry, but thought the fragrance was a bit too feminine.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

It cleaned as well as my normal liquid, but smelled much nicer. It didn't seem to last as long, but this could be that because it was less drying, I was actually washing up more rather than leaving it for the dishwasher Wink

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

I would buy it when on offer, as this is how we usually buy cleaning products. I think the single unit price is very expensive compared to other brands and own brand products and that this price would put me off.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

A friend commented on how nice it smelled and asked what it was after using it in my house so I showed her the bottle. I'm not sure that counts as a recommendation though? I probably wouldn't recommend it, not because I don't rate it, but because when getting together with friends, washing up liquid is one of the last things we would want to talk about and I'd be right up there in the "shoot me" queue with mrspickles if I did find myselof discussing cleaning products with my friends Wink

gothicmama · 19/11/2010 20:12

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

Better than other washing liquids do, less dried out.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

We usually Fairy os shops own brand and I'd say it's a bit more gentle.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

possible if it was on offer or we had spare money otherwise not unless I wanted to feel like a bit of luxury

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

I have recommended it as I think it is nice .

MrsChemist · 19/11/2010 20:40

Q1
My hands felt a little bit softer, but not much.
DH said he didn't notice any difference.

Q2
It's lasted a lot longer than what I usually use (often what's cheapest), and it smells like bubble bath, which I quite like actually.

Q3
I think I would buy it, but it would depend on how flush I was feeling at the time.

Q4
yes, I would

ptiger · 19/11/2010 21:14

Q1How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

My hands feel less dry and softer and my nails are much better. Instantly noticed the difference, normally after washing instantly use hand cream, being afro caribbean dry skin is an issue. The rest of the family didn't comment.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?
I normally use Fairy antibacterial, it cleans just as well and lasted just as long.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)
Yes any extra cost is offset by the saving in hand cream.
Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?
Yes, definitely

AnnMumsnet · 20/11/2010 11:02

I've already responded once but I've done a lot of washing up this week and wanted to add some more comments:

Q1How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

My skin does feel less like a prune in Death Valley after using it. DH used it too and said that it felt like the liquid had left something on his hands afterwards.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

It is better than my normal stuff, I usually buy supermarket own brand but have been surprised by how much better it has been.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

I don't know about the Clean and Care but I'm buying Fairy again!

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Again, if someone saw it on the sink or the supermarket and asked me about it, yes, I probably would.

Guidoinsteadnow · 20/11/2010 19:42

Can I add an extra comment too? I dont think it lasted as long as my normal Fairy bottle; its finished already. I cant decide if I subconscuiuosly used more. or if it squuited out faster, or if I needed more.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 20/11/2010 19:46

Guido, I have found that it doesn't last as long. I think this is because you have to use more because it is not as effective as standard Fairy.

minipen · 20/11/2010 20:53

My bottle is empty too, also now we are backonnormal fairy I miss the smell.
