Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

Tested silk and orchid

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?
My hands didnt feel dry at all. No-one else noticed!

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?
It smelled much stronger and seems to be lasting well.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)
I would if it was on special offer but probably not at full price.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?
I have a friend with very dry skin on her hands and no dishwasher so have already let her have a go with it!

Any other comments? DD thought it was bubble bath and has been trying to sneak it out of the kitchen to put in her bath!

Q1 HAve very dry hands. Didnt seem to make a significant difference. No one else noticed anything

Q2 Possibly easier on the hands but the perfume was too sdtrong for my liking (Almond)
Q3 don't think so didn't like the smell and tend to go for something more eco friendly

Q4 probably not

PfftTheMildySpookyDragon · 09/11/2010 17:00

Grin WMMC - that the sort of thing you would normally do?

FishWidow · 09/11/2010 18:47

Q1 - I took this to work as I tend to use gloves at home but don't bother at the office kitchen. My hands felt soft after use, but more importantly this didn't weaken my nails nor make my nail polish chip (like some of the cheaper ones do). My colleagues also thought their hands were softer and not as dry as usual.

Q2 I use fairy anyway - this had a lovely smell (I used the green 'aloe' version)and performed about the same as all the other fairy washing up liquid types.

Q3. I would probably buy on special offer. (Especially for work as my boss pays!!)

Q4. I would recommend to my friends and family - especially my mum who doesnt tend to use hand cream and whose hands always look dry and sore.

Love the concept of 'with a touch of Olay softness'. The bottle looks good on the worksurface so you dont have to hide away in the cupboard!

Q1 - I never use gloves when washing up/cleaning though I know I should. I think that it doesn't leave my hands feeling tight the way regular fairy washing up liquid can. Dh is the only other washer-upper here and he hasn't noticed a difference.

Q2 I nomally use fairy. I like the smell of this (I had peach and mandarin flavour). It seems just as good as regular fairy to me. Haven't noticed any smears on washing up from the 'handcream'.

Q3 Yes. I don't use handcream as often as I should and am a martyr to the splits on my finger ends in the winter! If this can help only a little bit, it's worth it to me.

Q4 Would definitely recommend.

By the way, I couldn't find this thread on 'products tests/feedback', only by link from the email you sent me. Is this intentional?

PandaEisIsLookingForwardToXmas · 09/11/2010 23:14

I tested the purple silk and orchid one Smile

I found my hands were a little softer... DHs moreso lol i force get DH to do our dishes!

I loved the fragrance and it didnt leave a residue or funny taste on anything like some strongly perfumed washing liquids do. It did last longer and seemed more grease-busting than the cheaper alternatives.

I would buy it if it were on offer but i tend to go for supermarket own due to budget

I have told my mum and sister but TBH i tend to talk about other things with my friendsWink

AnnMumsnet · 09/11/2010 23:27

bosch - no, how odd! The thread is stickied ATM within product tests/ feedback can you see it here?

thanks for all the feedback so far Smile

Ann - no, I defo can't see it there.

And actually, I think I may have seen it online when i was at work but can't now I'm at home.

Recent new computer with mozilla/firefox thingy (search engine?) - is that the cause?

AnnMumsnet · 10/11/2010 08:15

How strange. Will report to tech. Thanks

I use Firefox, and it shows up as a sticky on Products for me. Are there separate stickys now then? I thought all stickys showed up at the top of Active Conversations, has it changed because there's now a lot more product tests? /extreme nosiness Grin

serenity, we now have the power to sticky something in the area in which it was created. For example you can sticky something in site stuff and when you click on the topic of site stuff it will be there but not (necessarily) on 'active'. You impressed?

Incredibly, thank you Grin (and slightly less confused by posts not appearing where I expect them to be...!)

Cheesecake4me · 10/11/2010 19:13

Q1 My hands were softer and less dry. A friend said it didnt sting her hands like some liquids do.

Q2 There were less bubbles at the end of the washing up, but the dishes were just as clean. There was a nice smell whilst washing up.

Q3 I don't think I would pay that much, but would certainly buy it when on special offer

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends? I have shown/mentioned to mum and sisters who were interested at the right price.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 10/11/2010 20:18

Q1 Hands felt nice, no bad reaction. My mother also used it, she liked it too.

Q2 Compares well with usual washing up liquids, which tend to be Fairy lemon, original, a few others.

Q3 I would use it again if on special offer.

Q4 I would recommend it.

Any other comments? I found the smell a bit difficult to start with. It reminds me of freshly washed clothes and I kept thinking back to whether I had done any clothes washing that day, or as if I'd got my detergents mixed up. I got used to the smell and eventually liked it.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 10/11/2010 20:19

I tested the Silk & Orchid.

AlexandraPeppernose · 10/11/2010 20:32

Q1 I didn't notice any difference on a day to day basis but after a mega baking session they were definitely less dry than they would have usually been.

Q2 It had a stronger fragrance. I also felt I needed a little more of it than original fairy

Q3 I would if on special offer

Q4 I would to those who either already used branded products or did lots of washing up.

i had the Aloe one and found the smell a bit overpowering. It smelt more like shower gel than washing up liquid. However my hands smelt lovely afterwards

karmaz · 10/11/2010 20:45

Q1.Hands felt slightly softer. My husband however who does most of the washing up said his hands were considerably softer.

Q2.Normally use fairy washing up liquid. This one (peach and mandarin)smelt much nicer.Cleans the dishes same as the normal fairy.

Q3.I think that it is expensive and I would only buy it on special offer. However my husband says that from now on even at that price he is going to buy it. He is converted.

Q4.Would mention and recommend it if someone brought up the subject of washing up liquid with me. But this has never happened .

Have looked for this product in the shops but haven't seen it anywhere yet.

Aliarse · 10/11/2010 21:20

Q1 Hands felt soft for around an hour and a half. They felt really nice. No-one else noticed.

Q2 It smelt a lot nicer (silk and orchid) but it seemed quite runny. Cleaned as well as other brands though and no residue.

Q3 I would buy it again at full price.

Q4 I would recommend it if the topic came up

Aliarse · 10/11/2010 21:21

Forgot to add that I havent seen it on sale yet!

solo · 10/11/2010 22:57

Poundland and Asda definitely have it.

WhyHavePets · 11/11/2010 01:15

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I noticed a difference in my skin straight after washing up, like my hands had been hydrated. Sarly it lasted a very short time (10 minutes or so). No-one else tried it - althoug If you say they have to I will happily pass your orders on to my teans - I am sure they will carry more weight than my orders Wink

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

Very well, I did find it less harsh on my skin and it seemed to perform as expected, cleaned the dishes easily, was nice and bubbly etc.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Probably not, although it ws less harsh on my skin it ws not enough of a difference to justify the extra outlay.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Possibly if someone found other products harsh, other than that probably not as it is more expensive for a very short term effect

additional comment I trialed the almond variety and I found the smell very offputting, like flowery cleaner (think zoflora) mixed with marzipan. Sickly sweet and not a scent I would try again for a cleaning product, sorry!

Thank you for including me in the trial, sorry I could not be more positive at this stage but I hope you find the comments helpful.
