Q1 I'm the only one who tested in my house. No difference in softness really - AND it peeled off my nail polish, which has never happened before - Even with the cheapo liquids.

Q2 Too many bubbles for me, took ages to rinse the sink afterwards.. Was FAR too slippy - My best(and expensive!) serving bowl slipped out my hands whilst doing dishes and smashed - I've never broken anything in all my years of dishwashing! Smell was nice though.

Q3 No, I don't think I would use it again if I'm honest.

Q4 Yes, if your into chipped nails and broken plates!

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?
Hands slightly less dry, but think the hot water is also the culprit. Still using lots of hand cream and will go back to my marigolds

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?
I got through it a lot faster in order to get same clean - not as biting with greasy stuff. I normally use fairy lemon.
Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)
No. I will return to fairy lemon.
Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?
If they wanted a nice smell, but the original fairy stuff is more cost efficient and does a better job.
Any other comments

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I think they felt softer and husband also preferred it to the usual stuff.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

Definitely preferred it, really liked the smell as well.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Yes, I would buy it having tried the free sample.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

I haven?t as that?s not the sort of conversation I?d have with my friends. But if anyone ever brings up the subject I probably would as it didn?t make my hands feel all dry and manky.

Thank you for giving me the oportunity to trial this product! Here is my feedback.

Q1 - I was going to say that I didn't notice any difference after using it. My hands were still quite dry (I usually use fairy brand anyway as with other brands my hands get incredibly dry) and cracked. But thinking about it again, I think that perhaps my expectations were too high. My hands aren't quite as dry as they were and I think that I was expecting that there would be no dryness after a week of using this product. So yes there was a slight improvement after using it.

Q2 - As I use Fairy anyway, I would say that it was pretty much the same in terms of cleaning. I did find that it didn't last as long as my usual bottle and I used it all up in just over a week, but perhaps this was my eagerness to keep trying it out! Grin

Q3 - I'm afraid that the benefits when compared to my normal bottle of fairy weren't enough, so I probably wouldn't pay the extra. I didn't much like the smell (I got the mandarin and peach) it was too synthetic and didn't seem to be right for a washing up liquid!

Q4 - I would tell them to try it as it seems that other have benefited from it and have softer hands as a result.

Any other comments?

I would like to say that while this is an excellent idea it seems that the makers haven't got the concept quite right. Is it a washing up liquid? Is it a beauty product? It looked too much like a bubble bath in the bottle and smelled like it belonged in the bathroom, not at the kitchen sink. I think the opaqueness of the product seems strange, too. A bit too gloopy, perhaps.

I feel that I have been quite negative, and I hope that my criticism can be taken constructively. I really wanted this product to work and to give me lovely soft hands again, but this just didn't happen. I hope that the product can be improved with everyone's feedback as I would love to see it work!

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

A1 I was pleased that it didn't irritate my hands like Fairy usually does. I'm the washer, all other householders are driers and out awayers.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

A2 I think it lasted longer than normal brand.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

A3 I would buy it just for the fact that it doesn't irritate my skin. It is more expensive than normal brand but I would save that money by not having to buy rubber gloves. It annoys me having to keep gloves by the sink and I hate it when I put my hand inside a wet rubber glove.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

A4 I would recommend it because it lasted longer and non irritating.

Any other comments?

I really liked the smell of it and lots of bubbles

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I have to say I was impressed with the softness of my hands after using this product. My sister also used it and agreed.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

i found it as good as any other fairy product, it got my dishes nice and gleaming.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

I will be using it again as I have a problem with many liquids affecting my eczema. I found this to be the best one as I have had no problems whilst using it.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

My sister also has the same problems with various washing up liquids and she found that this didn't affect her either so she will definatly be using it.

grinningbee · 08/11/2010 12:25

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

My hands which are very dry at this time of year are definitely softer. Dh hasn't mentioned anything, but it's mostly me who washes up anyway.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

Seemed the same, but I use Fairy anyway. Less bubbles I think.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Maybe, but only if it was a bit cheaper.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Haven't yet, but might do.

Any other comments?

I had the Cucumber/Aloe one and thought it smelled like a very strong fabric conditioner, which is a bit offputting. Other than that it is fine.

mrsgordonfreeman · 08/11/2010 12:26

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I usually find dishwashing liquids make my hands very dry and noticed some improvement when I used this. Other household users never ever ever wash up so I cannot speak for them, however my stepmother used it and certainly did not complain that it was in any way unsatisfactory.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

I did not notice a difference in the cleaning power. The scent (I had almond) was very nice.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Maybe, if it were on special offer.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

I would recommend it if I were asked.

I liked the scent a great deal but it might perhaps be a little too girly if, to take a hypothetical example, DH took it upon himself to do some dishes.

smugmumofboys · 08/11/2010 12:29

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I was sceptical at first but, I have to say, my hands aren't as dry.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

No different in terms of its cleansing abilities.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

TBH only if on offer. That price is a little steep.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Only if it came up in conversation!

LittleCheesyPineappleOne · 08/11/2010 12:32

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?
I thought they were definitely softer. DH not sure.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?
It was as good as normal WUL

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)
Probably not unless on special offer. Seems expensive.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends
Not sure.

I found the scent (orchid) more reminiscent of laundry powder than WUL which was odd. Not sure about the pearly texture either.

TequilaMockinBird · 08/11/2010 12:32

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

DP does most of the washing up in this house and he did say that his hands felt softer and less dry than when using our usual washing up liquid. I used it aswell but tbh couldnt really notice any difference (this could be because I dont usually wash up!).

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

I thought the smell was a bit strong and, like somebody else has mentioned, smelled a bit like shower gel! Other than that, I think it performed just as well as the normal Fairy we use.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Probably not at full price, no. I would if it was on offer though.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Yes, I would recommend it. Not sure I could justify the price difference between this and normal Fairy though!

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

My hand felt softer and not as dry as when I was using my previous liquid. I no longer got sore hands/red and cracked knuckles which is fab as I can ditch the manky washing up gloves Grin Nobody else in my house does the washing up sigh

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

I don't think there was much/if any difference in the actual dish washing ability, came out just as clean. The plates etc did feel more like they had just come out of a dishwasher, like they were slightly squeeky, had a sheen to them if that makes any sense at all?!

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Yes I would Smile

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Yes I would recommend it, already have to my sister as she gets sore & dry hands like me too.

Any other comments?

The liquid smells nice & quite strong whilst in the bottle but once it's in with the water there seems to be next to no smell Hmm I prefer it to smell a bit more.

It looks nice and pearly in the bottle but you don't really notice to Olay bit on the label. If it were on a shelf with all the other bottles of Fairy I don't think I'd even notice it was different. I think it needs to be more obvious that it's got the "Olay softness"

Overall though I really like it Smile

whomovedmychocolate · 08/11/2010 12:36

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

DH said it was 'no different but smelled funny'. (We had the almond one). I would say it was not that different either. I wasn't particularly keen on smelling like marzipan for a while afterwards either. It did not irritate my skin though.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

Used a lot less than normal. It did seem to leave quite a pong on the dishes (perhaps I'm crap at rinsing). In particular sippy cups. It was good at degreasing though.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Not in that fragrance but it does seem to last a very long time. I would also say the bottle design is quite unstable when picked up by wet hands. Also looks quite like bubble bath (DH did put it in the bathroom when it arrived thinking that's what it was).

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

I would recommend all Fairy products for their cleaning ability - but not this one for it's fragrance. Though it is probably a bit to indulgent for families with children who will just use half a bottle to wash their hands if they get the chance!

NotShortImFunSized · 08/11/2010 12:37

THE Olay bit on the bottle, oops

lissieloukatthosefireworks · 08/11/2010 12:38

I think it probably did make my hands a little softer.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

I felt that i had to use more of it than normal fairy

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

if it was on special offer, £1.50 is quite expensive.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends

if a friend had skin problems I would, but I wanst wild about it.

snorris · 08/11/2010 12:38

Q1 My hands felt softer straight after washing up but I didn't really notice a significant difference otherwise. I'm very lucky with my skin and rarely have problems or dryness anyway. Dh noticed a difference too and his hands are less dry.

Q2 I rarely stick to one brand as I buy whatever is on offer but comparing it to the latest one (Waitrose) I'd say the bubbles lasted a bit longer, I felt I needed to use less and it definitely made the water feel different.

Q3 If it was on offer!!

Q4 Only if it came up in conversation.

I had the cucumber and aloe to try and thought it smelt quite nice!!

Cammelia · 08/11/2010 12:39

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I found my hands felt quite a lot softer when using it and afterwards.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

Quite a difference. Felt softer while washing up and my hands felt more comfortable.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

I would if it was on offer.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

I would recommend it to others.

Any other comments:
Not 100% keen on the peach & mandarin smell -a bit too much like bubble bath

addle · 08/11/2010 12:42

def. on special offer/poss. otherwise

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?
Was a little bit softer, dh didn't really notice a difference.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?
Normally use Fairy original - bit less bubbly, dh thought it smelt a bit girly (we had almond) I prefered the almond one.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)
No, not at that price - just looked up the cost of Fairy Original and that is 88p for the same quantity at Tesco. I might get it if it was on special offer and a similar price to Fairy Original.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?
Not the sort of conversation I have with friends - I don't know many people who don't have a dishwasher..
Any other comments?

spiderlight · 08/11/2010 12:51

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I didn't notice a huge difference, but it's definitely less drying than other liquids. OH agrees.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

It does the job just as well and lasts about the same. I like the fact that it's not too heavily scented and doesn't leave a smell/taste residue on my dishes (Almond variety)

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Yes, probably.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Yes.

Any other comments?

snorris · 08/11/2010 12:52

Oops! I owe Waitrose an apology! Blush. Just been into the kitchen and the most recent WUL was Asda.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 08/11/2010 12:54

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

After a couple of weeks using it, my hands do feel a bit softer and I haven't needed to moisturise as much, despite the cold weather. Immediately after use, I find it feels like there's a bit of residue on my hands but that goes away quickly and isn't a problem. My husband said he hasn't noticed any difference at all with his hands.

My hands smell quite nice after use, with a very mild fragrance. Again, my husband says he hasn't noticed any different scent after using it.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?
It compares quite well, the dishes are just as clean and I do like that my hands are in better condition. I quite like the smell as well (aloe and cucumber), it's quite refreshing and not too overpowering. It was very bubbly even with a tiny amount of liquid, which is good. The bubbles lasted very well too, which is a bonus. No residue was left on the plates.

My husband hadn't even noticed we were using a different washing-up liquid Hmm but doesn't think it's any worse.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)
I'd almost certainly buy it on special offer. I think I would buy it anyway, even though it's a bit pricey. I do loads of washing up and hate having dry hands so have quite liked the change.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Possibly, certainly if someone was complaining about dry hands! I think most people we know use dishwashers so it's probably not much of a problem for them. I'd certainly say I'd tried it and liked it, not sure if I'd make a point of recommending it.

Overall I did quite like it. My husband didn't notice any difference at all but that's probably more him than the product tbh.

sfxmum · 08/11/2010 12:58

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

  • I did like it a lot and it is soft and gentle on the hands, other householder who does dishes did not report difference

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

  • I thought it was softer as I did not feel the need to immediately go and moisturise the hands as I normally do if not using gloves, regarding normal washing I though it was quite nice with a pleasant smell and did the job well
(I got the Silk and Orchid)

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

  • I am likely to buy it at least once in a while

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

  • I did mention it and someone also asked about it when seeing the bottle

Any other comments?
I must say I really like the smell of the green fairy original, it is a strong sensory 'trigger' as it always says washing up to me, in a nice way
but I did like this particular smell too

PuzzleRocks · 08/11/2010 13:03

I received the Silk & Orchid bottle. I have already given my comments on the other thread so shall copy and paste them here.

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I can?t say I noticed a difference in the way my hands felt compared to my usual product. My husband begged to differ. He says it felt much more gentle on his skin.

It's a fairly pleasant smell, not too overpowering and DH didn't grumble about it when he was washing up so that's a good sign.
I'm not keen on the Barbara Cartland colour but that's irrelevant I suppose since I don't display it like a kitchen ornament.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

I am impressed at how little is needed for a good lather. I have tried cheaper brands in the past and they have always been a false economy.

I am a loyal Fairy customer but whether I would switch from the usual stuff to the Touch of Olay would entirely depend on price.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

I am assuming that it will be slightly more expensive and so would want that difference to be reflected in savings I made on hand cream. Unfortunately I still need to slather on afterwards. This may owe more to the changing weather though so I would be prepared to purchase a few bottles before making a firm decision.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?
I have already done so.

Many thanks to Fairy & MNHQ for the opportunity to test.
