Thank you for including us in your trial.

We have been marriage long Fairy users so were interested in this. DH is the main washer upper, yes his hands are slightly softer but he only noticed it when I asked, the smell is strong and on that basis would not buy it we had the silk and orchid one, not sure of the cucumber one would be better. No I wouldn't buy it, probably wouldn't reccomend it but those two are purely on the smell. We will be returning to godd old Fairy original.

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it?
really loved it. I've always hated the way my hands feel after washing up, as they feel all dry and weird after using normal washing up liquid. This made my hands soft and smell nice.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare
it cleaned just the same as other products, although it didn't look like it would - I think because it looks more like shower gel it seems like it would be more gentle if that makes sense!
Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again?
yes, definitely, and DH agrees. I actually find the dry skin I get after using normal washing up liquid really off-putting, so I'd find it hard to switch back now. DH will be happy as it might mean I'm more inclined to wash up :o
Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?
yes definitely.
Any other comments?
Smell was 'ok' according to DH - maybe a bit of a girlie fragrance. I loved it (silk & orchid) although as with shower gel, shampoo etc I prefer fruity fragrances.
Also I'm not particularly bothered about the Olay thing, it's not a selling point for me - I'd be happy with any old moisturiser!

BigTuna · 11/11/2010 12:42

Is there a deadline to give feedback by? Only I haven't started using my bottle yet Blush I don't know why. I think I wanted to finish the bottle I was using first but it's taking ages. Will start using the tester product today anyway and report back ASAP.

TigerFeet · 11/11/2010 21:23

Q1 My hands didn't feel softer as such but the skin on my knuckles is less prone to cracking. My husband doesn't think it's any different.

Q2 I usually use fairy anyway, it washes just as well as the standard version and I was impressed that there was no residue on the dishes which I thought there might be due to the moisturiser.

Q3 I would buy it if it were on offer but I'm unlikely to pay £1.50 for washing up liquid.

Q4 Probably wouldn't raise it unless washing up came up in conversation, in which case I would say I had tried it and I liked it but thought it was expensive.

Any other comments? I had the almond fragrance and I really didn't like the smell.

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

AS DP is a sahp, he does most of the washing up, so most of the feedback is from hom :D

He is reporting that his hands are freakishly soft after using it since we got it

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

It's definatley lasting longer - I found myself using far more than I should at the beginning but have now realised how much should be used

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

I might buy the others to try, but the Silk and Orchard one I got sent to try really did smeall a bit too much like a flowery shower gel tbh. So not about the price but more the smell.

DP says that it's a bit of a lingering smell, and I agree

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

I would recommend it if it didn't quite have the cloying flowery smell. If they did a lemon/tea tree etc version then for sure.

Any other comments?

DP has reported that since using it, the nicotine stains on his fingers have disapeared....wtf is in this liquid? :D

AnnieOneForTennis · 12/11/2010 14:37

Q1 I didn't really notice any change in how my hands felt, but they did smell nice afterwards. However, I didn't like the smell much whilst washing up! I prefer lemony scent.

Q2 It cleaned just as well, but it wasn't as bubbly.

Q3 I would buy it if it were on special offer but I wouldn't pay more than the normal Fairy especially.

Q4 I would mention it to friends but I wouldn't rave about it.

TeaRocks · 12/11/2010 19:07

Hope I'm not too late!

I tested the peach one.

1- My hands weren't necessarily much softer but possibly less cracked, which was nice!

2- It cleaned well and had sparkly bubbles. I do prefer a fresher smell, though.

3- I would buy this in another smell if it were on special offer.

4 - possibly if they suffer from cracked hands

Lavitabellissima · 13/11/2010 13:40

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

It was noticably better, I usually have to put on hand cream within minutes of washing up as my hands get so dry. I still put hand cream on later but I could definitely see an improvement. DP commented on the bubbles, he never washes up! Mum is here for a week and really loved it.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?
Just as good but left a lot of bubbles, I had to rinse out the sink really well after every wash up.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Yes, but I wouldn't pick the cucumber & aloe one as I (unlike a lot of other posters) love the richer smelling scents. I absolutely love the lavender fairy you had, but I can't seem to find it again. I would buy it at £1.50 if I'd run out but I usually stock up when items are on special offer Smile

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?
Yes definitely. Mum has said she'll get it.

Any other comments?
Yes please do an Olay lavender one as it made my kitchen smell so good, it would be even better if it had the softening as well.

feedthegoat · 13/11/2010 18:24

Q1. I found it left my hands softer straight after washing up. Dh also says he has noticed a difference.

Q2. It definately made the water softer and was very bubbly. I didn't dislike the fragrance (I had the cucumber one) but found it rather too strong for my personal taste. Dh liked the bubbles and fragrance but he was a little put off by the appearance in the bottle as said it looked 'disgusting'.

Q3. If it was available at the same price as original fairy then yes. I wouldn't pay significantly more though.

Q4. If they had dry skin aggravated by cleaning products then yes, I would.

onadietcokebreak · 13/11/2010 19:27

Q1 Mine felt softer. But DPs felt itchy and irriated them

Q2 cleaned as well as normal green fairy. However DP reckons it doesnt bubble as much and therefore doesnt last as long.

Q3 Yes if much cheaper than normal fairy. However would buy a different fragrance. DP Doesnt like almond

Q4 Have mentioned to a couple of friends.

sybilfaulty · 14/11/2010 14:33

I had the silk and orchid. I loved the smell, but it seemed slightly incongruous in the kitchen where I use more citrus/ sharp smells (eg method lavender stuff).

Q1 - it did make my hands feel softer. Didn't notice a difference on DH though.

Q2 - we got through the bottle very quickly, though we did have a few people over a couple of times. It lathered well, but probable not as good as normal Fairy (which I always buy)

Q3 - I would buy it if it were on offer but probably would not buy it otherwise as it is a bit dearer and not that much better (sorry Fairy)

Q4 - I can't imagine a conversation about recommending washing up liquid but if one did arise and someone was looking for a premium product, I would happily.

Thanks for the opportunity to test this.

lottiejenkins · 14/11/2010 15:28

1)My hands felt softer
2) seemed to make dishes cleaner
3)If it was on offer i would
4)yes

TheLogLady · 14/11/2010 21:37

I just washed up in church with cheapy McCheapster liquid and my hands were so crispy afterwards - i'd like to add to my feedback - Fairy with Olay is bloody Marvelous!

(PS tis I Eccentrica!)

chinook · 15/11/2010 13:15

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?
Definitely felt softer and the areas of red dry skin I have on my hands cleared up.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?
Use Fairy Original. This one seemed equally good.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer).

Yes if on offer. It's quite a lot more expensive than fairy original.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?
Yes. Mum used it when she came to stay and liked it too. We both loved the scent (silk and orchid).

louii · 15/11/2010 17:05
  1. Don't think my hands feel softer, feels like they have a coating on them for a while after washing dishes.

  2. It felt quite greasy compared to the normal fairy I use, not as bubbly and had to rinse dishes a lot more than usual. Smells quite nice, more like a handwash type smell.

3)Would maybe buy it if it was all that was on special offer in the shop but would not go out my way to buy it again.

4)Nope

doughnutty · 16/11/2010 19:24

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

Noticably less dry. DH who has excema commented that it made his skin sting. (Orchid and Silk variety)

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

Seems to be lasting well. At least as good as supermarket own brands but not quite as good as normal Fairy

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

Wouldn't buy it over normal Fairy if both were on offer or if offer price wasn't cheaper than normal Fairy.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

If washing up liquid came up in conversation I would mention I had tried it but would probably not recommend.

ILovePonyo · 16/11/2010 19:45

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

Made my hands softer but I still needed hand cream after washing up. Dp didn't notice a difference.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

Cleaned just as well (but usually use Fairy). But - the smell was a bit too shower gel-like, as other posters have said, rather than a fresh clean smell which I would prefer for washing up.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

No - the smell was off putting.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

No.

Other comments - I tested the almondy smelling one.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

allstarsprincess · 16/11/2010 22:38

Hello, can someone tell me when this will be on general sale? I really liked the smell and would like to get some more. :)

Slobbadan · 17/11/2010 07:20

Question 1 -

It made my hands feel not so squeeky clean after lots of washing up like my other one dose. Im the only one who used the Fairy in our house as Fairy aggrivates my partners eczema on his hands.

Question 2 -

It was just the same as my usual brand, i never noticed it being better or worse.

Question 3 -

I would not buy the Fairy again as i really like having a break from the dishes and dont want an excuse for my DP not to do them too. Unless ofcourse i trade him in!

Question 4 -

I have not recomended Fairy as of yet to my friends as it has not came up in conversation yet.

Other commments -

I loved the smell and the colour (silk and orchid) and it was a lovely creamy texture.

AnnMumsnet · 17/11/2010 10:52

allstarsprincess - it is on sale now - I saw it on the top shelf in my local tesco. Glad you like it!

Questions:
Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

Hand a bit softer I think, though not big ddifference.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

I use whatever is on offer, often Fairy. As good if not better than usual brands used.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

I would only buy if on offer.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

Not sure it is that amazingly different to recommend to others!

Looked very nice and smelt lovely.

BigTuna · 17/11/2010 18:46

Q1 How did using new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness make your hands feel after using it? What did other household users say about this?

I noticed they didn't feel so dry and 'tight' afterwards. My daughter reports the same.

Q2 How did new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness compare to your normal dish washing liquid?

I had the peach one and felt it looked a bit too much like bubble bath. The smell is nice but again, a bit too much like a body care product. I usually use Fairy Original or an own brand. The tester worked well but I did feel the need to rinse the dishes afterwards to get rid of any residue. This may be because I've been using too much though.

Q3 Do you think you would buy new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness again? (The recommended price is £1.50 for 433ml though retailers may well have it on special offer)

I might try another 'flavour' if it was cheap enough otherwise I will stick to normal Fairy and using hand cream afterwards.

Q4 Would you recommend (or have you already recommended) new Fairy Clean & Care with a touch of Olay softness to your friends?

I haven't recommended it yet. It's not a product I would rave about. I'd tell someone to try it if it came up in conversation.

Any other comments?

I prefer a more citrus-y smell for washing up liquid and I also like your Apple flavour. Think this was a bit too floral for the kitchen. I liked the bottle design and label but not so much the colour (peach) for the kitchen.

Thanks for letting me test it!

I found it wasn't as bubbly, and didn't work as well as I expected

I'm afraid not!

It's a no again from me - but then I don't tend to go round to my friends houses raving about cleaning products Grin
