Tana, does Gordon want more babies still? Are you planning to oblige?

What's your favourite restaurant (not one of Gordon's!)?

Miyazaki · 09/10/2008 12:45

Tana, what do you put on your hair?

I am curly too! Really want to know!

PussinJimmyWhoooos · 09/10/2008 12:46

Anna - what business model? She's a mum, she's had IVF and fertility issues, this is mumsnet...that's more than enough imo....and besides, have you seen how much peripheral advertising there is during Rugby matches or football matches? Airline logos on t shirts etc....I mean please...give MNHQ a break!

CatIsSleepy · 09/10/2008 12:46

I kind of wonder how much Tana actually sees of Gordon as her seems to be ever so busy being on the telly an' that...
oh yes and running restaurants
does the Ramsay family have a good work-life balance?

CatIsSleepy · 09/10/2008 12:47

he not her
obviously

combustiblelemon · 09/10/2008 12:48

Justine! I was nice. Can we have Halloween smileys now.

bronze · 09/10/2008 12:48

I can't phrase anything properly at the moment but I really do want to know about her and baby killers nestle.

Anna8888 · 09/10/2008 12:49

The MN business model.

WideWebWitch · 09/10/2008 12:49

Gosh, does Gordon really not 'let' her use 'his' oven? I want to know now.

And what is the MN business model exactly?

FeelingLucky · 09/10/2008 12:51

"MNHQ are trying to make a living and raise the profile of mnet...if part of this means question and answer sessions with famous people - so what? "

I'm sorry ... did I miss something here? How does having slebs like Tana Ramsey doing a Live Chat on Mnet raise the MNet profile? Unless of course she gets such a drubbing it gets reported in those freeby papers you get handed out to you outside tube stations.

David Cameron - yes raised MNet profile, very good idea and this was how I first heard about MNet.

What I'm annoyed about is that MNHQ always want to include us by asking for our opinions - eg should we exhibit at Baby Show, what people we want for Live Chats, etc. But then they go and book a highly unpopular choice of a sleb for a live chat ... however, I'm going to back off as I see there are some MNetter who have posted here with genuine questions for her.

Rant over

WideWebWitch · 09/10/2008 12:52

I think it's fair enough to ask people to post POLITELY but I also think it's fair enough to ask tough questions, politely.

Really, if you're booked on mn you really ought to do your research and know what you're letting yourself in for.

combustiblelemon · 09/10/2008 12:52

There was an article a while ago about him having his new kitchen fitted- they have two in the house. He had a fancy new oven put in and when he turned it on to preheat, after a while, a really nasty smell came out. She had used it the night before when she'd had friends round and had left an M&S ready meal tray in there IIRC. I think it's his own fault for not checking personally.

combustiblelemon · 09/10/2008 12:53

Thet was when he banned her.

Anna8888 · 09/10/2008 12:54

The MN business model is highly reliant on (mostly) intelligent debate between significantly more educated/informed than average mothers. MNers are looking for in-depth and reasoned analysis to find answers to their problems in life.

It is insulting to their intelligence to be expected to humour an author like Tana Ramsay.

Carmenere · 09/10/2008 12:54

In fairness I thought Tony Parsons acquitted himself well in the face of much (cringe-worthy) hostility so I suppose in the interest of fairness to mothers we should be happy to see what Tana has to say for herself. I suppose this is mumsnet, not onlyordinarymiddle/workingclass/notwealthymumsnet. In the spirit of inclusiveness I am happy to do a u-turn and welcome Tana.

Freckle · 09/10/2008 12:56

I don't think it's outside the scope of MN discussions to have someone like TR for a chat. After all, look at the number of people posting on Sleb Twaddle. This will just be like a live version of that.

If you feel that strongly, just don't mention her book - which will defeat her intentions, but keep MN out of the courts .

Swedes · 09/10/2008 12:56

I'm not a great fan of believer in the majority always legislating for the minority. So long as she is of interest to some or even one Mumsnetter.

I think asking her if she wrote the book is a fine question. As is asking her what on earth qualifies her to be the author of a cookbook other than being married to Gordon ramsay. I'm not a bit interested in her and have nothing to ask her. Nothing at all.

ghosty · 09/10/2008 12:58

I am astounded by the bitching on this thread

PussinJimmyWhoooos · 09/10/2008 12:59

And how do you know Tana isn't that? Do you know her personally?! Do you realise how stuck up that sounds?

I read somewhere that Gordon didn't have a very nice childhood at all and Tana is his security - regardless of what you think of them, I think that is nice.

Besides, she has four children, she's been through IVF and she has a husband who is probably never there - ok her choice, but I think that makes her interesting enough to have on Mnet. Give her a break!

mabanana · 09/10/2008 12:59

I am astounded by how polite and nice Tony Parsons was too. In the face of some really horrible, pointless rudeness too.

VintageGardenia · 09/10/2008 13:02

Tana what is your MN chat name?

PuzzleRocks · 09/10/2008 13:02

I agree Puss, it's all getting a bit elitist. I have no interest in her but no objection either.
Are some just a bit jealous? (ducks and runs for cover)

ghosty · 09/10/2008 13:02

Over 300 posts about cod's cat being run over (sad, yes ... I feel for cod and everything but 300+ posts??), the TP thing and now this really awful "Aren't you rich enough yet" and "It is insulting to their intelligence to be expected to humour an author like Tana Ramsay"
I am disgusted and you should all be ashamed of yourselves.
