STOP PRESS! Live pre-wedding webchat with our very own Kate Middleton, TODAY at 1pm

Hello. We're extremely honoured (and just a little bit over-excited) to announce that royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton is coming to MNHQ for a webchat today at 1pm.

A while back, we put in a formal request for Kate to take part in a Mumsnet webchat (nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that) but, truth be told, we weren't that hopeful, given her other pressing engagements this week.

But then, this morning, the Buckingham Palace Press Office rang to say Miss Middleton had some time this lunchtime between her last dress fitting and her first palace-balcony-etiquette briefing - and would be delighted to drop in and chat to Mumsnetters. Apparently, she's been lurking on Mumsnet quite a lot recently and has been finding the Bridezilla discussions a real eye opener. Shock

So, quick, please post your (suitably deferential) questions for Miss Middleton here - and join us for our very first royal webchat at 1pm.

GitAwf Do you wanna see my teatowel? I purchased it last week, in readiness, and duly unwrapped it this morning with appropriate flourish.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/04/2011 17:27

Me too Goml, me too.

In fact I have another one:

Kate have you ever been to the kind of wedding dp and I would have if we ever got our arses in gear and organised one? You know, a few dozen people at the register office, bride in eBay's finest, vol au vents and Lambrini champagne in the George & Dragon's skittle alley (decoration courtesy of these people (well maybe not the decorations bit...)?

Actually Justine can we have a [fawn] emoticon? I envisage it looking like the Babycham deer. In a tiara.

KateMiddletonsMum · 26/04/2011 17:29

Hmph. MNHQ could have asked me. Envy

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/04/2011 17:31

On the subject of wedding paraphenalia, this is delightful. So much classier than drinking your blue WKD straight from the bottle (that wouldn't do at a Royal Wedding). I should imagine KM has had one commissioned for each of her bridesmaids.

GitAwfMayLend · 26/04/2011 17:36

Actually rereading the whole thing MNHQ must have been sat their with their jaffa cakes pissing themselves laughing at us.

pawsnclaws · 26/04/2011 17:43

I would have loved to ask her if she'd had her parts vajazzled for the royal wedding night. Maybe a crown design would have been suitable? I could just see Camilla giving her a hand before with the glue and the tweezers.

ViolaTricolor · 26/04/2011 17:48

I would also like to know if her MN lurking had contributed to the choice of a Friday wedding night.

thebestisyettocome · 26/04/2011 17:52

Mine wasn't at all fawning. Some of the posts weren't even questions they were just comments about how unbelievable it was that KM would come on here.

I just wanted my posts to be removed.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/04/2011 17:56

Oh yes to the vajazzling. They'll probably use real gems, too.

I am bitterly disappointed to have missed those toastabags, BoF.

I am, quite frankly, appalled by Viola's suggestion Wink

Fififi · 26/04/2011 18:04

LOVING the Will'n'Kate toast bags Bit of Fun. Surely there must be printed loo rolls and limited edition Fruit Shoots somewhere out there...

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/04/2011 18:10

KateMiddletonsMum aren't you busy making up buttonholes or pressing your Jacques Vert skirt suit or something?

culturemulcher · 26/04/2011 18:12

Just catching up with this after this morning's FakeKateGate revelation.

Can't believe MNHQ went ahead with fakekate web chat.

Bad move.

Big bad move.

LoonyRationalist · 26/04/2011 18:12

Haha very funny - not sure the chat lived up to the hype though Hmm

Slightly cross though that even a fake guest didn't get to my question, and at the later change of thread title. In fact to my mind we should all have editing rights or no-one. What next, I answer Yes I agree to a thread asking if crocs are the shoes of the devil & the thread title is changed to should evrryone be forced to wear nothing but crocs as footwear?

GypsyMoth · 26/04/2011 18:16

mnhq were caught our and must have handed the chat over to some hq minion to do.....it was boring and not at all funny.....

StealthyKissBeartrayal · 26/04/2011 18:20

"AitchTwoOh Tue 26-Apr-11 13:54:57
How could any of you have thought this was for real when at 11.34 this morning 'misskatemiddleton' posted. "Testing, testing. Right, that's the dress sorted. Kentish Town, my good man..." "

Missed that entirrely - could be wrong but I dont think the 'orange' was turned on until 1pm, maybe MNHQ could confirm?

Easy to see with hindsight...

jangly · 26/04/2011 18:21

Dream on Justine. (you're not that big Gal)

GypsyMoth · 26/04/2011 18:21

they often do tests tho for webchat guests.....

MardyBra · 26/04/2011 18:22

I agree Stealthy - it wasn't orange to start with. I thought it was a namechanger.

PuzzleRocks · 26/04/2011 18:24

Just spotted that some posters have their:
"Message withdrawn at poster's request".

Oh fucking hell. I should have let it stand. In my petulance I have made it worse. Shut it MardyBra Grin

MardyBra · 26/04/2011 18:27
My first "shut it".

I must be the only poster who hasn't had a Biscuit or called a cunt on here (afaik!)

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/04/2011 18:27

Yes Puzz you should have let it stand. Be like me: a Fawning Fuckwit and Proud Grin

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/04/2011 18:28

Have a Biscuit you cunt.

Wink
Georgimama · 26/04/2011 18:33

The fact that MNHQ occasionally manage to piss off vast swathes of posters with ill judged comments/threads (remember how Moldiegate actually started? MNHQ's fault) makes me feel they are still a little bit human. If I thought all Justine really did all day was give interviews to her husband and edit Sarah Brown's memoirs whilst looking as perfect as she does in her promo photos then I really would decamp elsewhere.

Carry on HQ, very good.

insertfunnynicknamehere · 26/04/2011 18:38

I still want to know what moldiegate was
