I think my cat stole someone's Sunday lunch

Just that really

My cat has just turned up on my patio with a small roasted chicken in his greedy mouth.

He has form for sneaking into neighbours houses through doors and we windows.

I can't really go knocking on doors to ask if anyone is moving missing their dinner

Mortified doesn't cover it

I still haven't got over the shame of my little fluffbutt bringing back some giblets still in the wrapping. She was squeaking so happily when she came through the cat flap.

😂

CluelessPadme · 14/01/2024 16:02

OMG 😂 that is very funny; presumably some other cat is currently getting the blame but they are wondering where the carcass has been hidden!

Did he enjoy his lunch??

PissPotPourri · 14/01/2024 16:03

My dog ate all the sausages out of somebody’s hotpot they had cooking outside their tent. We colluded with our next door tent to say we’d seen a fox 😳

seagull82 · 14/01/2024 16:05

My cat ate next door's hamster!
Also rocked up with a boiling hot Cornish pasty in her mouth once. Mortified, I never told the neighbour, kinder to let her believe her hamster had escaped and run away.

SmallestInTheClass · 14/01/2024 16:06

That's quite a catch. Our cat when I was younger caught a coy carp out of the neighbours pond. The huge fish was still alive and my poor dad had to take it back in a bucket and apologise.

DoraChance · 14/01/2024 16:06

One of ours brought home a five pound note once, no idea where he found it.

lightand · 14/01/2024 16:08

That is funny op.
A good laugh.
I needed that.

rainbowbee · 14/01/2024 16:09

A friend's cat stole a kitten. They never found out who the kitten belonged to so cat got to keep her 'baby' 🤣

TooMinty · 14/01/2024 16:09

My cat brought home a sausage that he had clearly stolen off a BBQ. He looked very pleased with himself 😂

tedgran · 14/01/2024 16:09

When my DH came back from work one Suday lunch time he saw a Siamese cat dragging a cooked leg of lamb along the road! My lovely ginger boy also had form for this!

LaughingAtClowns · 14/01/2024 16:09

Well done, that cat. 😂Did he enjoy his roasted chicken?

One of mine once came home with a large sausage from someone's BBQ

MrsMitford3 · 14/01/2024 16:09

My cat was in cahoots with our dog.

Cat spotted huge Easter dinner ham that was resting on the counter and pushed it to the floor where she and the dog devoured it as quickly as possible until they were rumbled...

No lessons learned.

You do realise that your cat has possibly done a poor (MN) woman out of her entire week's dinners for a family of 5?

And stopped her from boiling the bones for stock? 😳

Oh my god that's awful!!?

Please post a pic this is hilarious!!

Also can just imagine the confusion "where the fuck is the chicken?!"

Cattymonster · 14/01/2024 16:13

This is the funniest thread I've read in ages! I really needed to laugh. Please keep the stories coming 😂

(My mind is boggling over the cat that stole a kitten, and the one dragging the leg of lamb along a road 😂)

FloofCloud · 14/01/2024 16:14

lol is his name Boots? My old cat used to bring all sorts home, one day he brought what was left of a beef joint - probably saved for someone's Monday sandwich... he wouldn't even eat it he just plonked it at my feet and ate cat food 🤪... apparently it's because they think you're a rubbish hunter

Horriblewoman · 14/01/2024 16:15

I wish my cats brought home a kitten!

Mine turned up with a small packet of biscuits, text to our road WhatsApp revealed a lady had put them on her bench when going into get a cup of tea. I was very embarrassed.

IonaPenis · 14/01/2024 16:15

Bother that cat!

Finders keepers though.

WellThisIsFun1 · 14/01/2024 16:15

Every cat I've had was a pork product thief - at half 7 one morning came up to the back door dragging a massive slice of ham in his mouth. That'll be someone's lunch mysteriously vanished in a blink of an eye then.

The other cat stole two chipolatas - one cooked and one raw.

SisyphusDad · 14/01/2024 16:16

@FloofCloud I'm feeling unloved now! Why doesn't mine bring me home the odd dinner 😢.

McConkeysPlate · 14/01/2024 16:17

A friends beagle once stole a whole cooked turkey from the kitchen of a fancy country club
