Can we stop talking about Carvery please? I'm starving!

Can the FC tow the car to double yellow lines somewhere (or leave it in the middle of a road) so the police pick it up?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 03/08/2021 16:21

Why abandon your car in the first place? I hope his cycling trip on Saturday was worth this.

I reckon he'll just turn up, unannounced.

Wow, how did I miss threads 2 and 3? Just caught up (ops posts only, sorry. I mean, there's nearly 3,000 of them...

You could play Queen's 'I want to break free' loudly when he does turn up.....

You need to read the rest! Some corkers in there!
WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 03/08/2021 16:28

Another tag line is ‘Radiate confidence’! CF is definitely doing that!

There's confidence and then there's just sheer arrogant nincompoopery.

NeedNewKnees · 03/08/2021 16:28

Not to mention helpful Yorkshire pudding tips, @Mummylovesmonkeys!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 03/08/2021 16:33

You could play Queen's 'I want to break free' loudly when he does turn up.....

Or assemble a MN choir to sing Dina Carroll, with a few slight changes:

"It must be gone tonight.... don't leave your Ranger!"

dapsnotplimsolls · 03/08/2021 16:33

The FC have already said they'll remove it. Once the 24 hours are up, ask them to go ahead and remove it as carelessly as possible. Film it too! No doubt CF is currently getting dodgy legal advice from a mate's mate.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/08/2021 16:33

Does the nitwit in fact know that the right of way being blocked by his car is not the OP's but the Forestry Commission's? I mean, has he been told this? If not, maybe OP's friend in the FC could send something to Facebook group to the effect "As you know, we need access at all times in case of emergency; when people block our access their cars will be removed, possibly with extreme prejudice if we happen to be in a hurry for any reason such as injured people or potential out-of-control fires. We know most locals know this, but in case there is anyone who doesn't, that's the situation. Leave your car on our tracks at your own risk." And a picture of the vehicle...

FamishedAtAnAirport · 03/08/2021 16:36

oh gosh. I wonder how long it would take to read all of them...

In other news, Montrose is not toooooo far up the coast from me...

HalzTangz · 03/08/2021 16:39

@JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue

No update since early this morning? I'm wondering of the OP has been told by the CF to stop.
Or maybe she's too busy tending to her farm
Laughingravy · 03/08/2021 16:39

@BlueEyesWhiteDragon
Is it that bloody simple? So at whatever point I could just message him and say that I am now giving him 24 hour notice that his car will be towed? Do I have to tow the car anywhere in particular or can I just abandon it the other side of the road? What happens if it gets damaged?

A few years back a friend had a car park across his up and over garage door which opened directly on to the street. So he couldn't get his motorcycle out one Saturday morning. He called the police who could do nothing but tell him to speak to the council. Not much use on a Saturday. He also called a friend who was then a traffic officer in the Met. He said as long as you do no damage you are within your rights to move it. So he used a trolley jack to swing the car 90 degrees across the road. The offending car was now blocking the highway. It must have been a quiet morning because as he was getting on his bike a police patrol happened by to take a look. They put an obstruction ticket on the car but said nothing to my friend. Later that day a very angry young man banged on his door waving the ticket he'd been given and shouting he'd 'park where he **ing well liked' but he didn't park across the garage again.

Another thread draws to a close...

My experience with drivers of black Rangers is that they are all arseholes. Have had so many of them behave in dickish ways it's unbelievable. They far far surpass the dickery of your usual 'flash' car knobheads.

@BlueEyesWhiteDragon

A vehicle parked on private land can be towed away a long as a written warning with towing date is placed on the vehicle. The OP could have placed a warning giving 24 hours notice and posted that warning picture on the Facebook post (as the car owner was on that post), if he then didn't collect the car the owner is legally permitted to remove the car

You'd think the bloody council man would have told me that rather than make me do this stupid give him 24 hours and then we'll consider it abandoned and then start the proceedings to move it malarkey!

Yes that simple, I do this week in week out to remove cars from private car parks

And the best thing to do is get a tow truck removal company, he will have to pay to have his car released
BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 03/08/2021 16:51

And yes crazy horse woman is also me. Well the post was me but it would be accurate to say I am also a crazy horse woman.

The update to that is that there's no update really. We back in touch but its very very limited.

I sent the snotty text message telling her if she kept messaging me Id report her for harassment and she disappeared. I received a letter from her a few months later. Maybe June? The letter apologised for the number of messages that she'd got carried away and asked if she could still keep in touch in a more ad hoc manner. It was all super reasonable. She did then text a week later to see if I'd got the letter and then followed that up with a text to see if id got the text checking i'd got the letter, then a text apologising for sending a text checking id got the text about the text about the letter and saying shed wait to hear from me Grin

I sent her pics of him on the beach in July and said I was happy to keep in touch sporadically. We exchanged a few messages over that and then its been quite since. We going to Somerford for a camp later in the year so I might send her some pics of him at that. I thought I'd see how it goes and check opening communication doesn't spiral again and if all is let her come see him.

All very well and good, but can we get back to the main point please...

Is DB still single? Grin

Seriously, I can't believe the effing twatmobile is still there until the FC relocate it , what is he playing at (other than Kerplunk with Kane)?

And in other news, I have been craving Yorkshire puddings since the weekend and am going to have to cave in and make some tonight and I will save some to have later while reading the next instalment on thread 5
