Stuff you think must happen to other people - but can't risk asking?

Anyone else have stuff happen to you that must happen to others.

But you can't really ask because what if they say "NO! How weird!" And then you can never talk to that person again. Wink

So I'm bringing it to the anonymity of Mumsnet.

I'd love to hear other peoples. And will start off.

  • whenever I wash my hair in the shower (I have long hair) loose hairs wash down my back and end up in my bum crack. End of my shower I have to check there's no hair left.

I can't be alone in this grossness! (Or can I)

Belly button gunk, yep. Bogeys, yep. I also have one scaley elbow (I suspect psoriasis) that I can pick. Nipple hair has diminished, chin hair has increased.

Sometimes I will get a pain like someone has stabbed me up the bum, only lasts a second and it's really sharp!
I have one, like a runners stitch, across my heart . Unbelievably painful for a couple of secs. Then gone. Not had it for many years though

Does anyone else get an achey shooting pain their legs when they're scared, or scared for someone else? I get it a lot when I get scared of heights or watching DS trying to hurtle himself off things.

I've never met another person who has it, I must be weird. Grin

Yes! Though I’d describe it as a shooting tingley pain rather than achey. And yes to it being when you’re scared for someone else. Lately I keep getting it when I’m just drifting off to sleep and starting an almost dream. Wakes me up. Not entirely unpleasant but weird.

Not whilst giving birth, no. But yes whilst asleep - I've done it a few times.

I can also orgasm whilst I am awake by really concentrating and thinking of something that turns me on. I often do this when I am sunbathing on holiday, to while away the time. It takes a while - about twenty minutes of really focussed fantasizing, but i don't have to move a muscle. Also, I get really annoyed if I am interrupted and have to start again Blush.

Haven’t R all TFT, but the thick, blunt, black hairs that appear from nowhere, on the chin and sides of face. I check in a magnifier mirror every day so I know they appear literally overnight, a few centimetres long. I heard Angela Barnes describe it as ‘Like a massive spider is hiding in your face and trying to escape, one leg at a time’. Yep, that’s me. So sexy.

You have to be careful to wash the hair out. I know someone who had the hair mat up and form a cyst in her bum crack which had to operated and packed. Apparently its common in people with long hair.

I get javelin arse - but I knew I wasn’t the only one as Ive discussed at length with my family & friends!

Oh and I often talk to myself - I don’t realise I’m doing it and then when I suddenly “come too” i have to look around to see if anyone caught me doing it!

On the note of orgasms, I’ve often wimped out of starting a thread about this - as i’m orgasming I always transport back to a friend’s house where I spent most weekends as a kid, I’m walking through her (horrid) house and there is fancy art on the wall and 2 or 3 people who I’ve fallen out with....... I hate it! Does this happen to anyone else?? 😂 will this kill this thread?? I’m such a freak.

Regularly have a sizeable scab that forms only in left nostril every month, then bleeds, then heals till next time - for 40 years.

Re the hair in buttocks thing mentioned upthread, some people grow hair in that area (evolutionary?). I recall once assisting in a surgical procedure there, and extracting lots of deep embedded 2’ long blonde hairs growing there for a lady.

When I was still breastfeeding DS, whenever he fed in the night it made me really need a poo. This was to such an extent that I used to have to rush off as soon as he had finished feeding. Once I been had to take him with me, poor lad.

Did you poo whilst giving birth? Key thought of mine being due in April with first baby. The stats are high for this from what I hear but I can't really ask haha!
I’ve given birth 3 times and only pooped during 1 😂 I was in the birthing pool so the lovely midwife just fished it out with a little net, if it hadn’t of been for OH laughing I’d have never have even realised it happened!

100% yes to the inhaling with cringe. I sometimes get really bad build ups of solid wax in my ear, feels like I've just got off a plane, had to put one of those melty solutions in once, said to leave it for about 12 hours. Off I went on my merry way to work, (this was when I was at uni and worked on checkouts in a supermarket) was halfway through serving a man when there was this sudden shift in my ear, I kind of startled with the sensation and the whole lot just plopped out onto the conveyor belt Blush
Please tell me the name of the "melty solution" you used. It sounds very effective.

Does anyone else have a little pointy bit of skin above their arsehole? On the fanny side. I’ve had it all my life, it’s not a pile and it’s bloody annoying. My 3-year-old does. She's had it since birth. The doctor said it was a skin tag and wasn't willing to do anything about it.

Yes to javelin bum, yes to diarrhoea as a reaction to nerves, no to hair in the bum crack or pooing during childbirth (although I did fart a lot while pushing!)

So here's my oddity: Throughout my entire life, I sporadically get a strange sensation in the back of my neck that lasts around 5 seconds. The only way I can describe it is like ballbearings rotating in the handle of an old-fashioned skipping rope, only they're in the back of my neck and the movement creates a shimmering sensation. It feels far deeper than my muscles and in some way related to fluid. It's in no way uncomfortable, it's just bloody weird - am I a complete freak or does anyone else know what this is?!

I’m the only person I know who gets diarrhoea as a reaction to nerves, excitement or adrenalin.

I’m like this. When I was single dating was a nightmare as I’d always need a poo if I had first date nerves. And I mean while on the date, not before or after Blush
