Stuff you think must happen to other people - but can't risk asking?

IMissFrance · 03/02/2021 11:21

Anyone else have stuff happen to you that must happen to others.

But you can't really ask because what if they say "NO! How weird!" And then you can never talk to that person again. Wink

So I'm bringing it to the anonymity of Mumsnet.

I'd love to hear other peoples. And will start off.

  • whenever I wash my hair in the shower (I have long hair) loose hairs wash down my back and end up in my bum crack. End of my shower I have to check there's no hair left.

I can't be alone in this grossness! (Or can I)

Does everyone have a plastic carrier bag for nail cutting then? I mean do you have one each or all share. Do you put your feet in it? Do you empty it out and reuse it? What about when cutting the kids nails? I mean there are 80 nails need cutting in my house.

strudsespark · 03/02/2021 12:54

MisiSam me too, feels like cramps with knives. Not piles have had a scopy.

24x7 · 03/02/2021 12:54

Sometimes I will get a pain like someone has stabbed me up the bum, only lasts a second and it's really sharp!

It's muscle spasms.

jellybe · 03/02/2021 12:54

@1sttimemumtobe2021

Did you poo whilst giving birth? Key thought of mine being due in April with first baby. The stats are high for this from what I hear but I can't really ask haha!
With my first and second no with my third yes.
arethereanyleftatall · 03/02/2021 12:55

Fanny farts during doggy.

MythsandSparkles · 03/02/2021 12:55

@MisiSam javelin arse Grin was the term given to it one here many years ago on a similiar thread to this.

General consensus was that lots of people have it, no one knows why, possibly endo related as it seems to get worst during periods for some people.

PolarnOPirate · 03/02/2021 12:55

I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear about the bellybutton discharge Grin For years I've thought I'm an utter freak.

Also thought I was stupid for never knowing where is best to clip nails.

I have lots of these questions but they're not springing to mind!

PuppyMonkey · 03/02/2021 12:56

Well now I feel weird as I’ve never once fished hair out of my bum crack.Confused

I cut my nails over the bin. The cut off bits of nail go in the bin.

My own weird thing is that I am always getting bits of “sleep” in the corner of one eye, the corner nearest my nose. I mean sleep, as in random gunge - don’t know if that’s what others call it. Like every time I look in the mirror, there’s a bit of sleep I need to get out. It’s not an infection or anything, doesn’t hurt, I’ve had this for 20+ years. Asked my doc about it once and she said nothing I can do about it.Sad

MoltenLasagne · 03/02/2021 12:56

Apparently there's a really big link between digestive issues and periods, so some women will get constipation, others diarrhoea ahead of periods starting but they are massively under-researched because no-one wanted to ask if it happened to anyone else!

I also get hair in my bum - I do have a rather massive arse though, maybe women with more petite rears aren't as effected?

MoltenLasagne · 03/02/2021 12:58

Oh for the nail clippers we've got nail clippers with a cover that catches it all. Life changing.

PolarnOPirate · 03/02/2021 12:59

Does anyone else's pubes grow really far down their legs? My mum used to not shave the back of her thighs for swimming on holidays etc and always mortified me.

Also if you shave your pubes how the hell do you get right in there without cutting yourself.... this is always the main reason I have always just had a neat bush rather than all off. Also have never been for a wax because how do you prep for that, what if there is discharge etc present!! Horror! I have no-one to ask IRL haha.

FoxyTheFox · 03/02/2021 13:00

Does anyone else just not grow body hair? I have hair on my arms and legs but my bikini line is basically sporadic fluff and I don't get any hair at all under my arms. Am I a mutant?

LyndaSnellsSniff · 03/02/2021 13:01

@PuppyMonke I call it eye snot. I love it when you get a long bit that peels off your eyeball. Bliss.

strudsespark · 03/02/2021 13:02

Cut my toe naild over the loo, just need to flush.

GoBrookeYourself · 03/02/2021 13:02

When I’m on my period, a couple of days in if I’m standing up for long, my vagina starts to ache quite painfully- it feels like it’s going to drop off!

MoreMorelos · 03/02/2021 13:02

@PuppyMonkey eye gloop! Worse when wearing eyeliner/mascara and it goes black, then it's called mascara gloop 😂

Fanny ache! It's so weird!
MangoM · 03/02/2021 13:04

@hauntedvagina

Every so often I wake up to a two / three inch hair growing out of the middle of my forehead.

I wear make up daily and have a good skin care routine so I'd notice it if it had been growing for a while or had been lurking under a spot.

I get that too, but at the top of my neck. I've no idea how it always gets so long without me noticing.

I did poo when giving birth but the midwives quickly cleaned it so I didn't see it, except with my second DC when I was in the birthing pool and it floated in front of me.... the midwives arr usually quick to clean it up so it's not something to be too embarrassed about.
PurpleFlower1983 · 03/02/2021 13:07

I didn’t poo but my baby did in the pool. That thick black stuff!

Herdwick · 03/02/2021 13:07

@ILoveAnOwl

Sometimes I remember an event from the past and I physically inhale with the shame of it. Nothing bad, just mortifying things where I was a knob. They bring me physical pain.
Oh god yes this.

I spend my entire life trying not to be a knob now because I am CRIPPLED at times by flashbacks some of the really awfully knobby stuff I did (actually mainly said) in my late teens and early twenties.

Sometimes I consider cutting out an entire friendship group from my life because THEY KNOW stuff I've done and I'm sure still secretly judge me for it when I'm not there.

MsMiaWallace · 03/02/2021 13:08

The fanny aches yes!! Like you've been shagging for hours!

ImnotCarolineHirons · 03/02/2021 13:08

@1sttimemumtobe2021 no I didn't but some of my friends did. They ALL said by that point they really didn't give a damn (or give a shit Grin) and were just focused on pushing that baby OUT. Midwives have seen it all.

LagneyandCasey · 03/02/2021 13:08

Yep any crevice is a goal for long hair

ImnotCarolineHirons · 03/02/2021 13:09

@MisiSam javelin arse is a known thing! Can't remember what causes it but it's quite common!
