Stuff you think must happen to other people - but can't risk asking?

Anyone else have stuff happen to you that must happen to others.

But you can't really ask because what if they say "NO! How weird!" And then you can never talk to that person again. Wink

So I'm bringing it to the anonymity of Mumsnet.

I'd love to hear other peoples. And will start off.

  • whenever I wash my hair in the shower (I have long hair) loose hairs wash down my back and end up in my bum crack. End of my shower I have to check there's no hair left.

I can't be alone in this grossness! (Or can I)

Does anyone else struggle with the top of their bum crack sort of splitting after too much wiping. Stings something hellish and takes days to repair itself as you tend to need to poo daily 🤷‍♀️.

Yes to bum crack hair (also can end up in others crevices)

Also obsessed with any rare blackheads, block hair follicles or that crap that comes out of ear piercings when you haven't worn any for a while.

Plus, I always say excuse me if I trump even if I'm on my own, just in case any spirit life is listening 😂

Does anyone else struggle with the top of their bum crack sort of splitting after too much wiping. Stings something hellish and takes days to repair itself as you tend to need to poo daily 🤷‍♀️.

Sudocreme, I have always kept some in for sore bits.

Yes to.....smelly belly buttons and ears, single wiry hairs on chin that are spiky and not there the day before, strange sensation when bending forward, feels like my bottom ribs are stuck on something internally, swimming pool swallowing vag, I’ve found my people at long last!

I also, according to my sister and DD wipe my arse incorrectly, I stand up and bend as well as wiping from behind, I should say I have EDS type HT which means all my joints are hyper mobile and I am very flexible and bendy, but I have always wiped the same way, I thought everyone did it my way!

Oh, also yes to cyst type things that fill up with pus and never disappear, and also removing tonsil stones which absolutely stink to high heaven, always had tonsillitis as a child, until I was 27, when it just stopped. My sister suffered the same but her tonsil exploded!

Yes I get it, feel like my lowest rib has crossed under the one above it, and is an intense horrible pain/feeling. When it happens to me I have bend backwards or lie down and wait for them to uncross Me too a piece of muscle comes through like a baby hand across my top rib and breast bone I think there is a rip in my muscle it happens when I put on a pair of tights too I've to lean back and pop it in. Physio stumped too.
This happens to me too. Horrible feeling!

Similar to the hammer sensation, when I'm driving over a large bridge (I need to drive over one every day for work and back) I have a fleeting thought about how good it would feel to drive over the edge into the water. I've always had this since a child. I also sometimes fantasise about driving really fast, head first into a wall (maybe all those crash test dummy ads as a child?).

Anyone?

I get a horrible ache in my vagina after I orgasm. It lasts a couple of minutes and isn't bad enough to put me off, but it only started in the last few years. Anyone else?

This one is really weird but when I was a teenager i discovered that if I did enough sit ups I would have an orgasm. I have never heard of anyone else who experiences this - it’s so weird.

This is a coregasm, it can happen during abdominal excersise! Google it, lol!

Has anyone else had Braxton Hicks when they are not pregnant?

I get them a couple of times a year and haven't been pregnant for over a decade.

It's so weird. I expect to feel a rock-hard abdomen from the outside, but of course my uterus is buried between internal organs and a good healthy layer of fat so I just feel normal from the outside.

I also have the muscle memory of not being able to breathe properly from having BH in pregnancy but my lungs have ample space now so I have to remind myself that I can breathe deeply when it happens.

We might need to start a new thread soon. I want to carry on reading about everyone else's oddities.

I'm not admitting to how many of them apply to me without a name change.

Massive yes to so the maladaptive daydreaming, I live alone and my other lives have helped so much in lockdown. I actually do it too much I think.

One from me, as I sit down to poo I always part my bum cheeks. I also saw something on tv about a poo stool to put your feet on when going, it puts your colon in the right position. I didn't want to buy one so tried my bathroom pedal bin instead and now only poo with my feet up on my bin 🙈🙈

As a child, I could only poo if my feet were on a pile of books. Did that for years, but had forgotten until now.

I love this thread.

Tonsil stones!! I’ve had those for YEARS and the last one I coughed up like a cat with a fur ball whilst me and DP were cwtching on the sofa and made him smell it. He hasn’t ever had one or smelt anything that foul in his life😂🤷🏽‍♀️ I thought it was just me.

Happens if I'm sitting in the bath or lying in bed at that not-quite-awake phase. I never think "Oh my goodness, I'm pregnant!" I always think "ah, baby's fine". And so he is, and shaving.

Does anyone else prefer their reflection in one particular mirror over another? In the ladies' loo at work i always look tired, grey and haggard, but at home I look a bit more radiant and like Ive had a decent night's sleep. And as for the lingerie fitting rooms in John Lewis, i look absolutely fan bloody tastic! 💅

Fanny ache! Although it improved a lot for me when I switched from pads to tampons in my early 20s.

Mum used to always say ‘now that’s a good mirror’ ‘I’m not using that again’ etc. Always thought she was mad until I witnessed some horrific yellow lighting/weird angle mirrors in top shop and actually cried....went to the next shop and looked perfectly normal

Does anyone else just not grow body hair? I have hair on my arms and legs but my bikini line is basically sporadic fluff and I don't get any hair at all under my arms. Am I a mutant?

I don't grow hair on my lower legs - I used to but then I was a passenger in a car crash, bruised my legs really badly and then the hair just never came back!

I knew I would never BF either of my two, now grown up kids, because even if I brush against my nipples, it makes me squirm, not in a good way either, makes me feel sick followed by anger! Glad to see it’s not only me with weird things 🙄🙄😂😂

My ex boyfriend had no body hair, except a few weirdly straight pubes, legs as smooth as silk (so jealous), couldn’t grow a beard. Had one chest hair he was immensely proud of until it fell of.

Only had one ball tho so low testosterone? I have none tho and grooming is a blood mission, not fair.
