Barmbraic, I’m impressed and slightly struggling with your puppy eyes, but I really have such a list to work through right now I’m not taking orders. Homeschooling slows everything down.
Why don’t you tell me what your after, and then if I get to it I can let you know if it’s something I’ve got in stock? Is that fair? (Also, you might not like my stuff anyway)!

@Sevensilverrings you are beyond lovely
If you did make several I'd love to buy one , it's just the thing I didn't know what to look for but need! This thread shows that most people are good and warms my slightly frozen heart ❤️

Sorry, Sevensilverrings, that was unfair of me. Flowers (the spoon holders are just gorgeous and I got carried away.)

Barmbraic, absolutely no apology needed! I’m just juggling everything same as everyone right now! I can’t wait to have the space to do some making properly again, but it’s going to be a while! Spoon rests have been a lovely distraction though!

Brief update now ‘schools’ out for the day! Kiln load dry and going in tomorrow for bisque fire. Will be out, glazed, and back in by Sunday....hopefully! Here’s the other set, thanks to the PP who suggested nesting set!

Ooooooh! I never thought I needed a teaspoon rest in my life, let alone a nesting set, but look at that!

Lovely set @Sevensilverrings !!

Oh my god I NEED that nesting set of spoon holders.

When you set up your pottery shop after ALL THIS MADNESS, please post on MN as I would love to support you.

@IBelieveInAThingCalledScience

Oh that is such a lovely offer!

On a separate note, how great must it be to be able to just "throw" utilitarian and beautiful objects together?

Yes! Flowers

@Sevensilverrings, take my money right now! I'm after one to rest my wooden spoon on when cooking so I'd love a version for that. Please let us know if you end up selling again. Your work is beautiful.

You're amazingly talented @Sevensilverrings. I hope you follow our advice here and set up your Etsy shop. In addition to teaspoon rests, there's a real shortage of ceramic watercolour palettes, brush rests, sandtray therapy figures & symbols, and other life essential items like that. I'd keep you in business!! Flowers

Kitchen shops, probably the range, any little gift shop. Possibly Robert Dyas and they are OPEN.
Definitely Asda

Oooh. Like the sound of making therapy figures and symbols...do tell me what you mean?
I already do porcelain watercolour palettes....

@Sevensilverrings, such a tease!

Report
Sevensilverrings · 27/01/2021 21:49

I’m not trying to tease! I just like the sound of fiddly things I can make while half listening to the kids tell me about Roman Britain or whatever!
(Also I trained as a therapist, so I like the idea of overlapping the pottery and therapy).
I don’t want to sell bits right now, I’m just happy to be making. It’s been a crap few years health wise, so it’s a joy to have the strength back to sit at my wheel again. I didn’t know how important it was to me until it was gone for a while. So, I’m just catching up with things friends and family have waited on for a while and enjoying finding my groove again and remaking all the crockery my clumsy kids have broken in the last five years.....(And then came covid, and my youngest child who should have started school full time last Easter didn’t....so all my plans crashed. But I know how lucky I am, and it will work out eventually)! Meanwhile, I’m tinkering!

I think Florian Gatsby also makes palettes and brush sets, if your looking for them Peace. His work is truly stunning. (Worth digging out on Insta for anyone interested)!
