Oh my!! Only just seen this thread but I would buy the nesting set in a heart beat! Please update if you ever start selling. I desperately want a nesting set and I didn't even know what a spoon rest was until I saw this thread! The large ones would be good for a tablespoon while cooking, I'm always getting the worktop mucky putting cooking spoons down during cooking and the little one would be great for continuous cup of teas without having to use a million spoons!

I've only seen this thread for the first time tonight, and it's so heartwarming!!! Thank you @PeaceLoveAndCandy for introducing me to a teaspoon rest - I love the idea of a hug for the spoon 🥰
And @Sevensilverrings - your kind gesture really tugged at my heartstrings. Wishing you nothing but the best 💐

lotusbell · 27/01/2021 22:53

@Sevensilverrings, glad to hear you're starting to find a bit of joy again.
This thread has been a treat x

@Sevensilverrings, for sandtray therapy, figures such as the one in the picture, any human figure expressing emotion, also symbols, such as love (heart), death (skull), anger (volcano), etc etc. Sets of families. Human figures with an animal head (e.g. an adult figure with the head of a dragon), a human figure with a face on each side of the head expressing something totally different (double faced), etc etc.

For the palettes, for me it's got to be something like these:

Gorgeous thread - sorry for the deeply prosaic contribution, but for anyone looking Jacksons sell ceramic paint palettes. They are all very boring though.
Sevensilverrings you are so lovely, and so talented. Smile

Very quick update...everything in the kiln today. Had an electrical problem to deal with which is hopefully resolved. (Luckily discovered before everything ruined)!

I’ll post the finished things before I post them for those of you who have asked! I always hold my breath a little while the kiln is on, but hopefully everything will come out ok!

TheSpottedZebra · 04/02/2021 12:10

What a lovely thread!
Fingers crossed the Kiln Gods are feeling benign today...

IDontMindMarmite · 04/02/2021 12:19

Oh how exciting it must be to put your creations in the kiln and wait for them to be magically transformed.

SpikeDearheart · 04/02/2021 13:03

Gorgeous pottery! If you ever do start selling again can I suggest yarn bowls? They're surprisingly hard to get in the UK.

PeaceLoveAndCandy · 05/02/2021 07:55

Whatever comes out will be precious.Flowers

Yarn bowls, oh my god yes!

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 05/02/2021 08:25

What a lovely thread. Waiting for the finished pics. Also now feeling a need for nesting spoon rests.

Tequilasun · 05/02/2021 08:44

I really need a nest of rests and I never knew. Waiting and watching for the talented sevensilverrings to show her finished pics.

peridito · 05/02/2021 20:13

but cheese we want the dish to give the teaspoon a hug .

so they need to be smaller .

JellyMouldJnr · 05/02/2021 21:01

I've been checking back every hour! I want to see the finished teaspoon rest!

TheRealMrsJamieFraser · 06/02/2021 00:54

@Sevensilverrings I wish had an ounce of your creativity- those nesting rests are a thing of beauty that I now need Grin

BusterGonad · 06/02/2021 02:21

I love this thread. I can't understand why anyone wouldn't use a teaspoon rest. My husband leaves teaspoons everywhere. Leaving horrible sugary coffee stains all over the kitchen, I then have to put the washing up gloves on (allergic to detergent) just to wipe them off. Or he chucks the teaspoon in the sink and we run out. Don't even get me started on the way he chucks coffee in the sink and doesn't rinse it....

Sevensilverrings · 06/02/2021 08:05

Jelly, your looking at Sunday evening for the kiln to be done again and cold..possibly Monday morning if I get caught up with other things.please don’t check back every hour! (It’s going to be a bit of an anticlimax I fear)!

Ifailed · 06/02/2021 08:13

I can't help wondering if a teaspoon needs a rest, then surely the teaspoon's rest needs it's own rest?

StCharlotte · 06/02/2021 09:18

After an upsetting night, this lovely thread has soothed my soul.

Which is my clumsy way of placemarking.

That nest of rests really is lovely, even in its naked form Smile

peridito · 06/02/2021 09:19

Buster now I know where my partner has been when he's out on his long walks .Drinking coffee at yours!

Maybe a couple of these to solve the donning rubber gloves issue ?

Anyone know where in the UK I can get a teaspoon rest?
FlatteredRhubardFool · 06/02/2021 09:42

Never heard of these but I now want a metallic red spoon rest set!
