To realise I like old lady things

I bought some Yardley perfume for my grandmother and haven't been able to give it to her due to lockdown. I really like it and am going to buy some for me.
Also, I've started looking at those pointy cross-your hearty bras and thinking they look comfy and I quite like the shape, without having to cope with underwires (which I hate).
I'm 37, not 73. Are there any other old lady things I might like please?

You aren’t alone OP, I started wearing massive pants, no going back now & I wear Rose perfume, it’s gorgeous.

I am currently contemplating getting a granny trolley for going shopping with. My friend has one and it's actually clearly the right thing. Not sure why I haven't always had one.

I bought one about 5 years ago when I was 35 but never had the guts to use it. Now I don't think I would anymore. I've never seen anyone young with one.

Great thread. Big pants. Tea. Early nights every night Antiques Road Show. Pearls. Aiming for elegant rather than cool (never was cool so easy to give that one up).

@SpeckledyHen

Try Sketchers Go Walk . Your feet and face will be in heaven

I wear those, but I didn't know they were for old ladies!
My grandmothers wouldn't have been seen dead in anything resembling trainers.

This made me laugh. Have often thought those bras look comfy. I fall asleep to PG Wodehouse audiobooks

I am an old lady! I'm in my 70s. I wish I'd known about Skechers Go Walks years ago. I've currently got three pairs on the go.
I've always loved lavender and rose scents, big comfy pants and stretch bras have been my go to clothes for years. I like Vera, I have my hair cut in a very sensible bob (no dyes or perms, too much work) but it gets compliments! I miss going to the tea room with my friends for coffee and scones.

Yes to all of these things.
But then, I am an old lady I suppose.😊

I got one to comply with the go shopping as infrequently as possible thing. I wouldn't need one otherwise.

Definitely setting lotion if you have longish hair and like curls. I often put my hair in foam rollers with setting lotion overnight, my hair is then curly for days. I might look like a granny in my rollers and hair net, but theres nobody to see me.

Does setting lotion make your hair crispy? I plait mine at night for waves next day and setting lotion might make them better but not if it’s crispy waves 😂

I like a bit of talc. I have a dress with shoulder pads that is really flattering. A nice piece of Victoria sandwich is by FAR the best cake.

I love everything on this thread Grin except naps, sadly I always feel groggy afterwards.

May I also add marmalade, the programme New Tricks, and cross stitch.

Make sure those shoes are in white or pale beige for the summer 😉

Give the "trouble with my waterworks" a miss though 😳

Elvesdontdomagic What did you get? My friend has a Rolser and honestly the only reason I haven't got one is I think they are too expensive. But it was properly good. Hmmmm.

I don't want to buy something I don't use.

Ah seeing tobee on here has prompted me as this is probably an "old lady" thing as well (although it shouldn't be): black and white films.

vegancow I tend to dilute it with water in a spray bottle, it doesn't go crispy then.
