To realise I like old lady things

AiryFairyMum · 20/06/2020 15:13

I bought some Yardley perfume for my grandmother and haven't been able to give it to her due to lockdown. I really like it and am going to buy some for me.
Also, I've started looking at those pointy cross-your hearty bras and thinking they look comfy and I quite like the shape, without having to cope with underwires (which I hate).
I'm 37, not 73. Are there any other old lady things I might like please?

I took my old lady pillow on holiday. We only had one small suitcase each and it took up half of mine but it was worth it!

I love hotter shoes as they accommodate my wife clown feet. I'm 34 and I don't give a damn, I've done my time wearing unsuitable footwear, people spend less time in prison for murder.

I also like garden centres, and good jumble sale and teapots.

Love an electric blanket.
Talc
A slip (no pants revealed)
Slippers
I keep string, plastic bags, bits of envelopes to write notes on and I have a button box.
I tend to say things like “my dear”
I like washing out early as the morning is the best bit of the day.
Hotter shoes
Floral china
Small cereal bowls and side plates
Thank you letters
Notelets
A nice fruit scone
A nice sit down
A nice sherry

I like my garden too.

I've just noticed this is style and beauty! I used to love shopping for clothes, shoes and make up. Now I much prefer a garden centre or a rummage through the books in a charity shop.

There is nothing like a nicely gathered at the front nightie with a couple of buttons going down it.

@Sirthanksalot

This made me laugh. Have often thought those bras look comfy. I fall asleep to PG Wodehouse audiobooks

So do I, along with Miss Marple and Poirot

I love them all
