It’s a parking one!

Get on fine with house next door. Kids play etc.

About a year ago, her sister started coming to visit every single day. Weekends too. Fine. None of my business.

So we both have double drives and both have two cars. DH also has a motorbike but there’s space to keep it on our drive.

I work from home so I’m out to drop the dc to school then pretty much back for the whole morning. DH is gone in his car from maybe 7am. Motorbike stays on drive until weekends really.

So next door’s sister has a big 7-seater. But she’s taken to partially blocking our drive with it so next door’s car can get in and out.

So she parks up in the morning, partially blocks my drive. And then sometimes they’ll head out in next door’s car and my drive will be blocked.

I can (with ball-achey manoeuvring) get my car on. But if anyone was to visit, or DH was to come home, they couldn’t park on the drive. And they can’t park in front of my house without then blocking other next door’s.

It gives me the fucking rage! It’s so inconsiderate! I’ve said it to next door’s and her answer has been to knock in if I ever need her to move.

DH is so laid back he’s horizontal so he doesn’t see it as a big deal. But it’s just so selfish and irritating.

I’ve come back and parked up right behind her, as in touching the bumper, so I haven’t blocked other next door’s.

WIBU to roll the motorbike out and block her car?? If I put it sideways it won’t block the drive I don’t think.

I hope I’m explaining properly. I need to try to figure out how to post a diagram!

Bugger off and do some work!

painintheholeSIL · 04/03/2020 14:36

Can someone link the Christmas parking thread please?

TinyTear · 04/03/2020 14:52

@painintheholeSIL the OP has done so... at least read the OPs posts

BruceAndNosh · 04/03/2020 15:04

CSI Arse End of Connaught for her!

Christ!

I would SO watch that show!

OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 16:14

I don’t want to oversell it.

It’s essentially Sgt Olaf and Garda Dino on a tractor menacingly waving penises about.

But there are badges, so it’s official.

I may have got too invested in this thread. Had a meeting with school earlier that didn't go as planned. Ended up telling DH that next time I was going in with my own problem solving purple headed cucumber penis and that'd show 'em.

Think he's looking at getting me some help. But not of the kind I want Grin

OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 17:12

😂😂

He just doesn’t understand the power of a purple headed penis!

< wonders if that hammering sound is the TV companies breaking Captain's door down and begging her to sign contracts >

Well, OP, if you get fired from your job, you can always become a comedy writer for those tv companies that @ Schadenfreude mentioned
above are pounding on your door. Put the word out and your show will be a global sensation. I think I saw that this thread alone has had over 85000 views🤣

Sissymate2 · 04/03/2020 17:33

And don't forget the royalties you could be collecting from Disney alone for bringing Olaf back

Sissymate2 · 04/03/2020 17:34

@OhCaptain
Are your DC old enough to be totally mortified at mummy's new obsession?

BruceAndNosh · 04/03/2020 17:49

Obviously a post watershed programme

SlightlyJaded · 04/03/2020 17:53

I know it seems as though you've won but in my experience CF don't throw in the towel....

So, may I suggest 'Linda'. She's inflatable and I"m not sure she's sturdier than Olaf - but it doesn't hurt for Bull to know that there are numbers in your army.... In fact as you mentioned a supply of Hi-Vis jackets, a 'wall' (like when the other team take a free-kick) of various Garda would send a clear message that you are not resting on your laurels....

It’s a parking one!
OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 17:53

I’m more than happy to take millions from Disney.

I could build my own CF theme park. The Bull Pen where I will provide a host of CFery scenarios and a variety of paraphernalia with which to deal with them.

I’ll even throw in a neighbour who solves problems with a penis sidekick. In a cape, naturally.

Kids are mortified and scared. Possibly have PTSD.

DH is very likely googling divorce lawyers.

As long as I get the wheelie bins and a decent sized portion of the hi-vis vests I’ll agree to it.

I can’t stay around these parts anyway. Not with a theme park to open.

Me, Sgt Olaf, and Garda Dino will ride off into the sunset together. It will be a thing of beauty.

You won't get decent footfall in the Arse End of Connaught (I've just checked the spelling and Google told me it's now Connacht)
You'll need to move to that there Dublin

UkuleleRose · 04/03/2020 18:11

I just tried explaining this thread to a coworker when she asked why I was snort laughing. Not sure she understood. :-)

winterisstillcoming · 04/03/2020 18:49

Mmmmmmm. Maybe need to threaten to complain to the council about the fact that they are using the house as a business premises is affecting parking. Maybe ask if they should be paying business rates? Or if the taxman knows about their little business?? She'll soon stop.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 04/03/2020 18:51

I explained the basic gist of this to my 11 year old as he wondered why I was practically pissing myself laughing.

I showed him Olaf.

He is extremely impressed and amused.
He said we could post DDs giant unicorn and DS2s giant elephant to help Olaf and Dino in their efforts to protect your parking space.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 04/03/2020 18:52

On a side note, DD has that Olaf. She is 6. It is bigger than her. although that isn't difficult as she's tiny

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 04/03/2020 18:52

Oooh, I could send Olaf too. Double the snow power!

OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 18:54

Good god! Imagine an army of Olafs and inflatables!

I’d be unstoppable.

Why settle for parking spaces when I can block the WORLD???
