It’s a parking one!

Get on fine with house next door. Kids play etc.

About a year ago, her sister started coming to visit every single day. Weekends too. Fine. None of my business.

So we both have double drives and both have two cars. DH also has a motorbike but there’s space to keep it on our drive.

I work from home so I’m out to drop the dc to school then pretty much back for the whole morning. DH is gone in his car from maybe 7am. Motorbike stays on drive until weekends really.

So next door’s sister has a big 7-seater. But she’s taken to partially blocking our drive with it so next door’s car can get in and out.

So she parks up in the morning, partially blocks my drive. And then sometimes they’ll head out in next door’s car and my drive will be blocked.

I can (with ball-achey manoeuvring) get my car on. But if anyone was to visit, or DH was to come home, they couldn’t park on the drive. And they can’t park in front of my house without then blocking other next door’s.

It gives me the fucking rage! It’s so inconsiderate! I’ve said it to next door’s and her answer has been to knock in if I ever need her to move.

DH is so laid back he’s horizontal so he doesn’t see it as a big deal. But it’s just so selfish and irritating.

I’ve come back and parked up right behind her, as in touching the bumper, so I haven’t blocked other next door’s.

WIBU to roll the motorbike out and block her car?? If I put it sideways it won’t block the drive I don’t think.

I hope I’m explaining properly. I need to try to figure out how to post a diagram!

Don't you think Garda and Olaf are somewhat identifying?

OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 10:06

Probably, actually! Grin

But I can’t photograph what no longer exists! Didn’t think it would be that big of a deal.

If the need for one arises again I’ll be sure to do a full photo shoot before the rain comes!

How did I miss this thread on Monday?!

To confirm is Olaf a large Olaf?

DandyAF · 04/03/2020 10:09

If there is a next time, remember that bin stickers or other identifying stuff can very, very easily blurred or scribbled out by photo editing tools. See loads of other photos on Mumsnet for reference. Smile

OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 10:22

He is a sizeable Olaf! Maybe like the height of a six year old?

@DandyAF honestly I was doing 99% of this in real time. If it's not up to your exacting standards, accept my humble apologies. Wink

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I don't get the fuss about this thread and I don't think it's a classic.

Thank you.

Your opinion is important to us and has been noted.

(HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!)

DandyAF · 04/03/2020 11:01

No exacting standards, just spoilt by the bloody brilliant Christmas parking thread. Smile

OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 11:07

That's fair. I actually went and read it after people had mentioned it.

I wouldn't dare to compare my situation with the sheer genius of a stealth nativity!

Saw the first post the other day.. thought it’d be one of those “oh what shall I ever do” bullshit posts..

I’m glad there’s someone else as batshit as me out there. I’ve borrowed a horse box before... DA wouldn’t let me borrow a full on tractor, that’s apparently a stage too far. Never even thought of an Olaf or a simpler Powerful Penis rePlacement.

OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 11:09

I salute you, Luna!

A horsebox is marvellously in-your-face. Grin

You need to start a new thread, OP.

Scoobydoobywho · 04/03/2020 11:26

We all salute you ohCaptain

I don't have anything new to report Sad

Sorry this thread has had me in hysterics, Captain, many thanks Grin

BrainBetrayingMe · 04/03/2020 11:57

Thoroughly enjoyed your thread...its like I'm back at home in the wild west of Connaught. 🥰
Any chance someone can post a link to the Christmas parking thread that spoilt Dandy? I missed that one it seems. ☹

OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 12:06

Enjoy!

Thank you OhCaptain - for your thread and the Christmas one. You have spread much joy!

BruceAndNosh · 04/03/2020 13:16

I think you should get on Amazon and order this
www.amazon.co.uk/Crime-Scene-Police-Tape-30/dp/B002FABANO?tag=mumsnetforu03-21
Just in case. Sadly this is not on Prime delivery (if such a thing exists to what I believe the OP referred to as the Arse end of Connaught).
But it doesn't say Police which is why I chose it. You might find Amazon.ie offers Gardai Crime scene tape....

OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 13:21

Am 100% getting police tape.

I'll paint the Garai on myself if I have to.

Unfortunately for all of us she appears to be behaving herself.

However, I will remain vigilant and the second she parks over my drive, it's CSI Arse End of Connaught for her!

OP posts:
OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 13:25

*Gardai

OP posts:
BruceAndNosh · 04/03/2020 13:25

I mean technically blocking your drive is an offence so Crime Scene is perfectly accurate.
Hopefully she won't do it again until you are armed with the correct tape, a large piece of white chalk (to draw "body" outline round her car) and some folded white card with numbers on like they use to mark evidence. Pop one on top of her car.

OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 13:27

I'm going to pop to the euro shop and get myself a police badge.

It would just be silly in the extreme if I didn't have the correct paraphernalia.

OP posts:
BruceAndNosh · 04/03/2020 13:29

You and I have too much time on our hands OP!

I thought you worked from home - are you getting any done this week?!

OhCaptain · 04/03/2020 13:31

I have done NOTHING this week!

And am still mumsnetting while trying to cram the last two days into this morning so I can do this morning's work this afternoon. There won't be a child washed or fed in the house!

Will possibly get fired. Then I'll have to ask them for a job in their new business...
