My first parking thread!

So, I'm off work on annual leave with DS. Just been out for the day and just got home to find that it's school run time. We live near a first school so obviously the streets are lined with cars. Someone has parked on my drive and someone else is blocking them in!
Now I imagine that as no one is ever here during the day, these people have been doing this for some time (we've only lived here 3 months and the house was emtpy for a year before that). I've squeezed in beside the car blocking the drive so they won't be able to get our (remember the scene from Friends with Ross's sports car?) and therefore the car on my drive can't escape either.
AIBU to just sit here with a cuppa and watch this all play out while pretending not to be in?

Wish you were my neighbour! I'd be out watching..

Bubblysqueak · 15/06/2018 16:02

Can you get a neighbour to go out and find out and report back what they are saying?

billybagpuss · 15/06/2018 16:03

Typical, these things always perk up just as my afternoon work is due to start (unless my 4pm student is your CF parentGrin)

Lweji · 15/06/2018 16:04

Oh! This will be fun!

I wish I could have legally blocked the guy who parked in front of my building's garage door a few months ago.

I'll take my revenge vicariously through you, OP. (if anyone is interested, I called the police and they showed up Halo but it's not the same thing as blocking a CF until the next day)

LongtimeLurker29 · 15/06/2018 16:04

Oh exciting! Never caught a live one before!

MadMags · 15/06/2018 16:04

Can you see them??

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 15/06/2018 16:04

Good idea to get reg incase they decide cause any damage in frustration though.
Hope you have glass handy? Blackcurrant would do in a wine glass!!. Lots of tinkly laughing if they knock - in true mn style!!

spiderlight · 15/06/2018 16:04

Legend, OP! Grin

itsBritneyBeach · 15/06/2018 16:05

I can't believe someone would have the cheek to park on a drive anyway, regardless if they thought it was empty or not!

SharronNeedles · 15/06/2018 16:05

Sorry about the delay, in trying to entertain DS as well ha!
So they shouted in the street
"Can pinkcar please move as they're blocking us in and we'll have to call the police!"
I'm just cracking up watching them from my son's bedroom window.

billybagpuss · 15/06/2018 16:05

Actually someone at our doctors surgery did the same thing a while back, someone on the school run parked in a doctors reserved space so he blocked them in and refused to move until surgery was over 4 hours later.

StaplesCorner · 15/06/2018 16:05

See how the OP is quiet? That's because she's in the street, engaging in hand to hand combat with the CFs. They are going to tell her how she is BVVVU. You know it.

MadMags · 15/06/2018 16:05

If they knock, say you’ve lost the keys and they’ll have to come back tomorrow when DH is home with the spare Wink

SharronNeedles · 15/06/2018 16:05

There isn't as many of them now so I'm wondering if some of the adults have gone back to the school? Or perhaps knocking on doors?

OP posts:
MadMags · 15/06/2018 16:05

X-post!

Let them call the police!!!

StaplesCorner · 15/06/2018 16:06

Oops, cross posted.

Shouting about pink car. I must admit I wasn't expecting that. Good update OP.

billybagpuss · 15/06/2018 16:06

Oh thats brilliant

o0o0o · 15/06/2018 16:06

Call the police?!?! The CFery knows no bounds Grin. Stay hidden OP !

Idontevencareanymore · 15/06/2018 16:06

Cheeky beggars! Leave them stewing.

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 15/06/2018 16:07

Or say that you are just house sitting and they have gone away for a fortnight and haven't left a key!!

LandOfOddSocks · 15/06/2018 16:07

Teehee! How wonderful if they call the police to complain that they have parked illegally. Grin

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 15/06/2018 16:07

Brilliant? I hope they do call the police Grin

SharronNeedles · 15/06/2018 16:07

I may just pretend that the car isn't mine even if they do catch me peeping

OP posts:
Ginosaji · 15/06/2018 16:07

High 5 to that dr @billybagpuss, thats brilliant!

HoneyBadgerApparently · 15/06/2018 16:07

Brilliant. Can you pretend you're in the shower if they knock?
