My first parking thread!

So, I'm off work on annual leave with DS. Just been out for the day and just got home to find that it's school run time. We live near a first school so obviously the streets are lined with cars. Someone has parked on my drive and someone else is blocking them in!
Now I imagine that as no one is ever here during the day, these people have been doing this for some time (we've only lived here 3 months and the house was emtpy for a year before that). I've squeezed in beside the car blocking the drive so they won't be able to get our (remember the scene from Friends with Ross's sports car?) and therefore the car on my drive can't escape either.
AIBU to just sit here with a cuppa and watch this all play out while pretending not to be in?

Quartz2208 · 15/06/2018 15:56

I wonder how long it'll take them to figure out that nobody is coming to move the car. GrinGrin

StaplesCorner · 15/06/2018 15:58

I think the OP should be awarded for services to Friday Mumsnet, it sets you up for weekend doesn't it, a nice parking thread. Grin

If this is true my heart is actually racing. I absolutely LOVE a CF parking thread, I get so invested and so wound up.

violetbunny · 15/06/2018 15:58

Don't cave in OP! If it was me, I'd leave them at it for at least an hour so they really get the message (but then I am evil).

Busy77 · 15/06/2018 15:58

Please don't give in.... keep them waiting for hours if need be, teach them a lesson!

FuzzyCustard · 15/06/2018 15:58

Ooh long will they wait? I'd be out there weeding in my front garden and earwigging

Busy77 · 15/06/2018 15:59

At least an hour. Inconvenience them as much as possible

TERFragetteCity · 15/06/2018 15:59

Pour yourself a glass of wine then when they figure it out - you can't drive til tomorrow lolz.

Bubblysqueak · 15/06/2018 15:59

shall we start a sweepstake ? I'll have 4.07. butbtheybwont known on the door til 4.13.

ParentInCharge · 15/06/2018 16:00

I'd be tempted to hop over the back and casually walk up the street/emerge from the neighbour's property and ask em what's going on? "Has some rude person blocked you into your own drive? Shocking! What? It's not your drive? Oh then why's your car on it?"

Ginosaji · 15/06/2018 16:00

They probably assume your car is another parents, wonder how long you can make them wait before they realise it cant be cos no one has come back, grab a glass of wine op and enjoy the fun 😁

MadMags · 15/06/2018 16:00

This is marvellous!

I can’t see the diagram though Sad

TimeIhadaNameChange · 15/06/2018 16:00

This is great! Can you go and spy on them from upstairs? But, whatever you do, don't let them know you're there!

Bubblysqueak · 15/06/2018 16:01

you can see it on the app.

Busy77 · 15/06/2018 16:01

Or tell them it can't be moved until tomorrow as someone else has the keys

o0o0o · 15/06/2018 16:01

Yes! So what Parentincharge said. Then stroll down the road and sneak back in your house from the back and take a nap!

crazycatgal · 15/06/2018 16:01

I hope you're enjoying a nice glass of wine OP.

siwel123 · 15/06/2018 16:01

honeylulu · 15/06/2018 16:02
