The Beginning

The Middle

The end?

So... Long story short... There are horses, soon there should not be (I'm not good at summaries, they make me sound unreasonable).

We have a date! This Saturday! The horses should be taken away to pastures new, so we can roam the meadow in gingham dresses (dh looks good in a gingham dress) and we can have FuckYouFestivals to our heart's content.

There will be choirs and drums and bands and weapons and stackable goats and so much more!

Anyone who's read the threads knows I love a lurker. I can you see you out there. Go on, jump in while the thread's all new and shiny. You know you want to Wink

Right, our lights keep flickering.. What is the done thing to prepare for imminent electricity loss? Where are the candles???

IdaBlankenship · 12/02/2014 17:01

More importantly, should I eat the ice cream in the freezer just in case?

AlpacaLypse · 12/02/2014 17:08

Ida, yes you absolutely should eat the ice-cream!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 12/02/2014 17:08

Ida, icecream is your priority Grin

Candles, matches and torches. If you've got jars and tea lights then that's ideal.

We're getting short power cuts every 5/10 minutes.

A couple of cars have been hit by fallen trees and most roads are now closed.

Good Afternoon, awful weather here too.

EduCated sorry to hear you're laid up in bed, but turning a negative into a positive just imagine all three threads to plough through Grin

I have a new proposition as must have accessory. I bring you
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Horse-Print-Scarf-Large-Celebrity-Fashion-Scarves-Wrap-Animal-New-Soft-Ladies-/251146972066?pt=UK_Scarves&var=&hash=item3a7986aba2
a new-ish MN Scarf Wink Everyone who wears one can be clearly identified as inaugural IFYFâ„¢ members. People Who.Were.There. and yet need not be outed if the situation calls for discretion Grin

Mr FYC could get one too, might distract from the gingham Hmm

PS I got a bit excited when I first thought I'd found a commemorative IFYFâ„¢ horsey scarf, until I peered closer and realized they were giraffes Blush

AlpacaPicnic · 12/02/2014 17:45

Thank you for all the messages of sympathy regarding the chocorange cheesecake! I did ponder for a good few minutes about just cutting off the licked bits but then saw my cats licking their own bits and just felt a bit about it...

Cantabile · 12/02/2014 18:12

Blush (I would eat the cheesecake) but not the stackable goats. I would eat ordinary goats, and horses. Don't forget that I may be bringing my butcher so line up any unwanted animals.

IdaBlankenship · 12/02/2014 18:20

Foiled by the kids - I had to share the ice cream - pah.
Enrique nice idea - should we be colour coded according to our festival status and sleeping arrangements? Only blue scarves admitted to the Posh Turdises - that sort of thing?

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 12/02/2014 18:34

I think we'd better get the curry on already, goat needs long, slow cooking I think.

Alpaca I have to go back and read about the cheesecake related disaster.
Sounds a bit grim.

Ida ooh I wouldn't want us to become elitist, but we could have identifying colours.
They have the following (have added categories, subject to change following suggestions)

white - first aiders
pink - catering
brown - practical assistance
black - security including H&S
beige 1 and beige 2 - supervision of children and the elderly
green - animal husbandry (including goats)
sky blue - musicians and circus entertainment
blue - everything else

Should purple, grey and dark brown come back into stock I'm sure we can allocate those too Grin

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 12/02/2014 18:45

oh oh oh, they have more

teal, grey 2 and red. Red should be first aid really shouldn't it.

IdaBlankenship · 12/02/2014 18:48

Maybe security?

CherryLips1980 · 12/02/2014 18:50

Delurking too - fab news!

UniS · 12/02/2014 19:07

stackable goat curry would freeze well.

littledrummergirl · 12/02/2014 19:10

Power has been off for four hours and just came back on. I was reading this thread at the time so wasnt impressed.
Thank you all for making me Smile

littledrummergirl · 12/02/2014 19:11

Also, I can wear white!

Pixel · 12/02/2014 19:19

I'm not wearing anything red, I've seen too much Star Trek.

I've heard Lynton is having a goat cull if you need free goats for curry. As goats can easily jump six feet you'll have no need of fences (unless yours are six feet high?!) so we can safely use them for caber tossing followed by a lovely big bonfire for toasting marshmallows like in the guides. Btw if scouts are coming will they please make camp doughnuts? I haven't had one of those for years Smile.

Pixel · 12/02/2014 19:22

Glad to hear you'll be horse free at the weekend.

I'm starting to get jealous. Having spent the afternoon wading through knee-deep water and standing in howling wind and torrential rain just so ours could have their feet trimmed I think I'd quite like to be horse free by the weekend!

IdaBlankenship · 12/02/2014 19:24

Frozen stackable goat curry would fit nicely in the freezer - kind of like Jenga but with goats

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 12/02/2014 20:23

Pixel do NOT bring horses to the IFYFâ„¢

Whispers.
I've actually bought the scarf. I think it'll make me smile at inappropriate moments. You are the only people who know. Say nothing to anyone.

Pixel · 12/02/2014 20:33

Enrique not even a very small one? I'll make sure she wears a scarf.

AlpacaLypse · 12/02/2014 20:42

Hi Chris and the Organising Committee (aka WingDefence).

I have informed the girls that they are booked to appear at FYF. They have kindly volunteered to add Fuck You by Lily Allen to their playlist.

Also DTD2 wants to know if Camp Doughnuts are the ones wearing feather boas? (The joys of teenage humour...)

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 12/02/2014 21:08

Pixel you've gone giddy and in danger of losing sight of the raison d'être - you may find yourself relegated to the layby (sans scarf)
*looks sternly in Pixel's general direction

IdaBlankenship · 12/02/2014 21:09

Enrique I'm a bit tempted. What colour did you go for - animal husbandry, catering or entertainment?

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 12/02/2014 21:13

Ida was very tempted by animal husbandry, due in no small part to added goats and also the 'everything else' was calling my name. Not quite sure but I settled on practical assistance.

It's so wrong when put like that.

UniS · 12/02/2014 21:15

my thoughts exactly Ida. I do love a good bit of curried goat. Sadly , living in rural white monoculture Devon I can only get my hands on a good curried goat when I see my fav Caribbean/ Devon caterer at festivals and the like. She makes good cream teas too.
