The Beginning

The Middle

The end?

So... Long story short... There are horses, soon there should not be (I'm not good at summaries, they make me sound unreasonable).

We have a date! This Saturday! The horses should be taken away to pastures new, so we can roam the meadow in gingham dresses (dh looks good in a gingham dress) and we can have FuckYouFestivals to our heart's content.

There will be choirs and drums and bands and weapons and stackable goats and so much more!

Anyone who's read the threads knows I love a lurker. I can you see you out there. Go on, jump in while the thread's all new and shiny. You know you want to Wink

Pedant, it's possible, or they may decide that their actions trigger such good things that they get even worse Shock

Mistle, that's pretty much how we left it. She was also very clear that she would be letting UW know that the field was now locked and everything would have to be prearranged.

Steppe, it is. The moon is shining brightly down on to this big, empty field. What it needs is

Ooh FYC, you are up too! Joys of children!

Ds has just eaten a banana and no sign of it making a reappearance yet!

I am envious of your field now, we have a tiny garden on a slope, so the trampoline is butted right up to the house on the patio. We are surrounded by fields, but sadly they aren't ours.

Oh to frolic in a meadow.............

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 16/02/2014 07:15

Glaikit :) dd2's squawking like a good un :)

Hurray for disappearing bananas!

I've always wanted a place with land. It was a bit of luck this place. Everything needs a lot of work, but we've got a lifetime ahead of us!

mistlethrush · 16/02/2014 08:00

I wish I had discovered MN when DS was tiny... it was the nighttime vigils between 1am and 5am that got me down until we managed to sort it out...

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 16/02/2014 08:08

Mistle, it's a godsend. Don't know what was up with dd last night. Really not a happy monkey. I'm so sleepy. But there're blue skies out there and the birds are singing and I can't hear anyone feeding horses or parking on my drive :)

GlaikitFizzog · 16/02/2014 08:33

Obviously she is missing the horsies! Wink

MrsNutella · 16/02/2014 08:39

Good morning all!
FYChris I'm so pleased that so many enjoyed shipping forecast style weather reports and posts in general! they were all brilliant!
Sorry DD kept you up but maybe a wade through the mud walk through your lovely field and some fresh air will help her relax.

I also think that when someone with a horsey scarf is spotted we should walk over to them and say "can I lick your cheesecake" because it's wrongness really made me laugh!Grin

And again, yaaaay no horses!!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 16/02/2014 08:43

Glaikit! Nooooooooooooooo! Shock

MrsN, I like it.

"Can I lick your cheesecake?"

"Have the goats been stacked?"

"Yes, the meadow is filled with mothers"

"then let the fuckyoustival begin"

OP posts:
MrsNutella · 16/02/2014 08:46

Yay! That sounds great.
Now all I need is some pennies to get me to England for a week or two so that I can wander around and harass horse-scarf-wearing strangers Grin I'll harass DH to donate to my cause Grin

GlaikitFizzog · 16/02/2014 08:50

cough Wales!

MrsNutella · 16/02/2014 08:57

Good point, ok how about England and Wales.... You know, to find the highest concentration of people wearing scarves without having to walk too far. (lazy & four months pregnant... and whinging teething DS aren't making me very energetic)

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 16/02/2014 09:00

Excellent coughing Glaikit Grin

True MrsN, there will probably be more scarves over the border, but mine will be the most authentic

Hooray!! Delurking (again...)...got a bit lost for a while but am very pleased the horses are gone! Am making cheesecake today in sisterly celebration...and buying a scarf...

Am waiting on tenterhooks for the tickets for FYFest to be released....

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 16/02/2014 10:43

Mostly Grin I wonder how many families are having cheesecake here

The sun is shining. It's a beautiful day here :) all is well with the world.

Meerka · 16/02/2014 11:54

are you all going for a walk in your newly vacant field? :)

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 16/02/2014 11:55

Meerka, just back from one Grin dd1 lost a boot and got all muddy and it was great :)

Jux · 16/02/2014 12:03

Morning! Lovely bright sunshine here, enhanced by the knowledge that there is a horseless field over the border.

I was going to make chocolate orange cheesecake for today to celebrate FYF (and my brother's return from skiing) but dh persuaded me that brother was coming back next week instead. So I have no cheesecake ingredients Sad. Not even biscuits Shock

Jux · 16/02/2014 12:05

Sounds great! DD's friend lost a boot walking on one of the mudslides in Charmouth once. It was very dangerous eventful.

AlpacaPicnic · 16/02/2014 12:07

I have plenty of ingredients - come on over!

Jux · 16/02/2014 12:17

On my way, Alpaca!

Jbck · 16/02/2014 12:26

Have I missed the FYF ticket pre-sale, damn rubbish O2!

Have lurked throughout, might have psted on first thread even. Great to hear it's nearly all over bar the shelter.

Bring on the goats Grin

Morgause · 16/02/2014 14:03

Is it Pick Your Own goats?

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 16/02/2014 15:00

Jux, sorry about the cheesecake, I love Charmouth! Now that's properly sticky mud.

Alpaca, could you make me one too please

Jbck, I'm sure the shelter will end up being its own fiasco. They want to keep it but have no where to put it at the moment (the field the horses have moved to is only temporary) so would rather get it when the horses are settled, we would prefer it either goes now or not at all. But that belongs to RL and we like her.

The trailer could maybe be dragged from the field by us and stuck in the layby. This would be a hassle and potentially a problem because I don't think it's road legal. This belongs to UW, but her car isn't good enough to get it out of the sodden field. So we'd have to wait for better weather. She's happy to get it from the layby if we choose to do that.

I'm happy to call the police the second she takes it on the road

But those are problems for tomorrow. Today we're just going to enjoy it.

Morgause, can you have pick and mix goats?

OP posts:
bolshieoldcow · 16/02/2014 15:37

So, so happy for you in your horse-free field Chris Smile! It sounds perfect (couldn't find the photos, though…). And glad that RL lived up to her name and made the transition from paddock to field an easier one. Hurrah!

Envy that I've missed out on all the cheesecake though
