The Beginning

The Middle

The end?

So... Long story short... There are horses, soon there should not be (I'm not good at summaries, they make me sound unreasonable).

We have a date! This Saturday! The horses should be taken away to pastures new, so we can roam the meadow in gingham dresses (dh looks good in a gingham dress) and we can have FuckYouFestivals to our heart's content.

There will be choirs and drums and bands and weapons and stackable goats and so much more!

Anyone who's read the threads knows I love a lurker. I can you see you out there. Go on, jump in while the thread's all new and shiny. You know you want to Wink

Delinking to say I'm on the edge of my seat here. It's so funny to think of all us MNers sat with baited breath all over the UK.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 11:00

Enrique, yup, they're not chasing aggressively, but they should have just done it with food!

Alpaca, excellent rendition :)

Aurora, ooh, I have a squash too.

They're off to the other end of the field again!

Chasing him round the field! Can't think of a faster way to get him all excited and refuse to load!

He needs to be calm, the other horse in there, and a Haynet and bucket of food to tempt him.

Or get the vet and dope him. But if he's too excited this won't work and will have to be done much later or another day.

If he won't box they'll have to dope him or lead him to his new place.

Lavender, they actually fed him before starting. His companion has been caught. Horse box isn't here yet.

OP posts:
DollyTwat · 15/02/2014 11:05

Can you video it and set it to Benny Hill music?

SlightlyDampWellies · 15/02/2014 11:07

marking. bleeding idiots feeding first. Sounds like sabotage to me. 'Oh we can't catch him'.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 11:08

Dolly, it would work! It looks like they're letting him be for a bit thank god.

Why didn't they feed him in the small fenced off bit and stick him in a halter there?

I'm beginning to think today isn't the day.

If they stress him out any more I'm going to have to go and stop them.

OP posts:
FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 11:09

Wellies, that was my first thought too. Especially since she turned up early to do it. Glad the others saw it.

The wind is getting worse.

OP posts:
SlightlyDampWellies · 15/02/2014 11:10

No, don't stop them. If they are deliberately winding him up then they say that you prevented them continuining to try and catch him. Let them get on with it.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 11:12

Wellies, I'll have to if he's genuinely distressed. I won't see an animal harmed through stupidity. Even if it means their departure is delayed.

Also de-lurking
waves from central London

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 15/02/2014 11:14

Can you actually tell who's there though Chris?
I'm watching Ken Hom on TV and there's nice gentle and restful music playing, you could do with some of that.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 11:15

Toomany, welcome! Central London seems a world away from all this mud :)

OP posts:
Toomanyworriedsonhere · 15/02/2014 11:16

sun is shining here!!

AuroraRoared · 15/02/2014 11:16

Oh, poor horsey. Why are they chasing him round anyway, if the sodding box hasn't arrived yet? (I know nothing about horses, but it doesn't seem sensible to me!)

enrique that soup looks gorgeous - I may well make that instead of cake, it is certainly healthier!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 11:16

Enrique, think we're just missing HBM. HKL is the one trying to get him on a halter. She's been walking calmly, but he's not happy.

Ooh 11.16, someone is standing in the road as though guiding in a horse box! Maybe they've caught him. Can't see. Stupid trees!

Toomany Envy

Aurora, cos they is right plonkers :)

OP posts:
enriquetheringbearinglizard · 15/02/2014 11:22

You're welcome Aurora, it's a good bad weather recipe.

I think it's as well if they can take him today, apart from not wanting the horses there anyway, it's not good if they people who've taken on responsibility for a frisky stallion don't have much idea how to approach and handle him.

I was going to offer a tea, coffee or hot chocolate all round, but I think we might need something a bit more bracing.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 11:27

Enrique, Irish coffee?

a reminder of why we are here today

OP posts:
FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 11:29

Oh god, you don't think they've parked the horse box in the layby and they're going to load them on the road?! Shock.

Still can't see horse box, but traffic is being slowed.

They wouldn't risk that? Would they?!

OP posts:
enriquetheringbearinglizard · 15/02/2014 11:30

Oooh yes, Irish coffees good idea. I'm not driving today.

Grin I drop stackable goats into conversation quite randomly these days. Am yet to meet anyone who has any idea what I'm talking about, but then again, nothing knew about that.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 11:32

Enrique Grin my problem is that someone will mention something like that, and I'll think "ooh an mn'er" and so I drop something equally bizarre into the conversation and get a Hmm look.

I've yet to get it right.

No more movement as far as I can tell. Maybe they were just out on the road looking for the box.

OP posts:
MagicLlama · 15/02/2014 11:33

Hopefully not Chris HKL is there isn't she - surely the best plan would be to back into the field? Although how wet is your ground? Maybe they are worried about getting stuck?!

Also ......

Weve got goats that stack Grin
