The Beginning

The Middle

The end?

So... Long story short... There are horses, soon there should not be (I'm not good at summaries, they make me sound unreasonable).

We have a date! This Saturday! The horses should be taken away to pastures new, so we can roam the meadow in gingham dresses (dh looks good in a gingham dress) and we can have FuckYouFestivals to our heart's content.

There will be choirs and drums and bands and weapons and stackable goats and so much more!

Anyone who's read the threads knows I love a lurker. I can you see you out there. Go on, jump in while the thread's all new and shiny. You know you want to Wink

Chris, what is your vantage point like? are you wearing camouflage of floral curtain fabric, or using a periscope?

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 10:30

And now nothing is happening. Horses are halterless.

This could be a long wait. No sign of the horse box yet. I'm guessing the person on the drive was HKL (horse knowledge lady) who has been haled as knowing her stuff.

I'm in an upstairs window with the lights off Grin

I looked away and now they've all vanished and I can hear gates opening (yes I really am going to post every tiny boring detail)

Thought I heard a sheep. Might have been dd1

Weather - rain is now chucking it down, wind is gusty. The horses didn't seem too fussed by it, which is good.

MiscellaneousAssortment · 15/02/2014 10:35

Could you saunter out to engage them in nice chat to see what's going on?

Sedative v good idea

All fingers and toes crossed

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 15/02/2014 10:35

Maybe they fed them to settle them down a bit? they might be right divas when they're hungry?

*can be hired for standup

AlpacaLypse · 15/02/2014 10:39

I nominated this saga for Classics way back in Thread One.

Meanwhile... it's sunny but blustery here (Wiltshire) - hope you have similar for horse-into-horsebox enticement!

AlpacaLypse · 15/02/2014 10:39

xposted.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 10:40

Misc, it's raining! Grin I'm afraid I'm going to leave them to it. I've offered a proper 4x4 if needed and told RL she has only to ask if there's anything we can do or provide to help.

Enrique, could be. Hopefully they've done something sensible and fed them half a feed to take the edge off but keep them interested. They're not usually fed until late afternoon.

AuroraRoared · 15/02/2014 10:41

Morning - just checking in to see if the horses had gone yet. It would be so good if they got it over and done with asap!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 10:41

Alpaca, I am humbled :)

OP posts:
FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 10:42

Aurora, it is a possibility that they just load em up and ship out. I'm not holding my breath though.

OP posts:
enriquetheringbearinglizard · 15/02/2014 10:44

I felt proud to see all three threads in Classics - a trilogy no less.

If they're not usually fed until the afternoon there must be a reason for feeding them now surely?

Back on the feeding topic and going back to vegetable cake. I make courgette cake when there's a glut. You can do chocolate and courgette cakes too and you'd never know the ingredients, well, unless you spy a little bit of green, but you can tell DCs it's pistachio. Unless they're allergic to nuts.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 10:45

And.. After RL's assurances, we have someone parked on our drive. I won't be annoyed if they get the horses gone!

OP posts:
FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 10:48

Courgette cakes are on my list to do.

They're now failing to catch the stallion. Why didn't they stick a halter on him while he was feeding? Hmm

OP posts:
SupervisorOfInsanity · 15/02/2014 10:48

FYC unfortunatly whenever I try to supervise anything chaos truly takes over.

Fingers crossed that Operation Fuck Off Horse is actually happening.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 10:51

Supervisor :) we might be pretty unorganisable.

Weather - wind north by west 7, it's really quite blowy!

OP posts:
AuroraRoared · 15/02/2014 10:51

Courgette cakes, parsnip cakes and any other random veg cakes are now on my to-make list!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 10:52

You won't be disappointed aurora.

OP posts:
FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 10:55

They're now chasing the stallion all over the field Hmm so far not caught him.

Shambles

OP posts:
AuroraRoared · 15/02/2014 10:56

I'm sure I saw some vegetable cakes on the last bake off. I think MB and PH were a bit scathing about sogginess though, but I think you have to embrace it by making them lovely and chocolatey and having them like a pudding, with cream. Smile

I do have a butternut squash in the cupboard so I might try to make something with that today.

AlpacaPicnic · 15/02/2014 10:56

Horsey horsey don't you stop
Leave chris's field with a clippety clop,
Your bags all packed, you won't be missed...
And when you leave we'll all get pissed :-D

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 15/02/2014 10:56

He's not going to react well to be chased is he. It reminds me of the attacks on the most dangerous animal programme, that was on last night, the adrenalin will be rushing and he'll surely be in fight or flight mode?

AuroraRoared · 15/02/2014 10:58

Argh - WHY DID THEY FEED HIM FIRST?!

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 15/02/2014 10:59

Aurora, I have this book marked
www.rte.ie/lifestyle/food/recipes/2011/1013/2852-flu-fighter-soup/

admittedly it's not cake Grin
