The Beginning

The Middle

The end?

So... Long story short... There are horses, soon there should not be (I'm not good at summaries, they make me sound unreasonable).

We have a date! This Saturday! The horses should be taken away to pastures new, so we can roam the meadow in gingham dresses (dh looks good in a gingham dress) and we can have FuckYouFestivals to our heart's content.

There will be choirs and drums and bands and weapons and stackable goats and so much more!

Anyone who's read the threads knows I love a lurker. I can you see you out there. Go on, jump in while the thread's all new and shiny. You know you want to Wink

Row, let us know if it works :)

Morg, made with real strawberries?

Pedant, will you go Baresark?

OP posts:
FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 17:51

Mistle, excellent :) I will also report back on what is left. I can't necessarily blame UW about that since the house people could have left it. We shall see!

OP posts:
Morgause · 14/02/2014 17:58

Oh yes, real strawberries are involved.

When I was a teacher we held a fund raising fun day for the school. There was a committee that I was forced to be on, being young and bullyable. The vicar was the chairman - being a governor and all.

It was all going really well until one mum said she'd be in charge of the welly wanking. I managed to keep a straight face until the vicar caught my eye and then I lost it.

Jux · 14/02/2014 18:05

Ooooh Morgause, strawberry vodka cake! Brilliant.

Inadvertent Marmalade is made thusly:

Wonder what to do with tangeriney things no one wants to eat because they are nasty.
Assume that you can crystallise them without looking at a recipe (very important).
Put lots of sugar in a pan with some orange juice.
Chop up nasty tangeriney things and chuck them in.
Boil for a long time.
Taste and realise that chopped tangeriney things are bitter and hard so take them out.
Continue to boil the liquid while you wonder what to do next.
Pour into a tray to see what happens and hope for orange fudge.
Get up in the morning and voila! Inadvertent Marmalade!

PedantMarina · 14/02/2014 18:18

FYC, bless, but I don't think anybody will thank you for that suggestion.

Cinnamoncookie · 14/02/2014 18:27

Delurking after three threads, can I come to FYFest please ? I'm currently on a rail replacement bus to the depths of Wales, it is ver' ver' wet. Maybe by 2030 the floods will have gone ?

I can offer banana cake and organisational skills.

AuroraRoared · 14/02/2014 18:30

I hope it works Row Smile

Strawberry vodka sounds delish!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 19:23

Morgause, Grin I wouldn't have kept a straight face that long, love it.

Jux, that might be the best recipe I've ever seen. :)

Cinnamon if you're willing to brave this weather then you're the right sort. Welcome aboard!

OP posts:
catsrus · 14/02/2014 20:07

Jux if you add your inadvertent marmalade to copious amounts of brandy you will find you have you have a rather wonderful orange brandy liqueur :-)

Not surprisingly I can offer interesting cocktails to sustain the organising committee while simultaneously running one of the food outlets. How about some nice wraps? Veggies well catered for, cooked on a separate griddle natch.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 20:44

Cats, sounds like you know your stuff. Grab a folding table and a canopy and get to work! :)

It's The Day!

Hopefully RL is currently applying a pitchfork to UW's withers and they will be on the move shortly!

steppemum · 15/02/2014 08:20

morning all, just sitting here laughing at inadvertent marmalade, welly wanking and the Armish song.

priceless.

Got to go out before 10:30, so hoping all is sorted when I return, sending virtual champagne, cheesecake and sunshine your way Chris.

(and you are right, a good dh in a crisis beats a present buying git any day!)

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 08:31

Skiing Grin even better if she's just told her the wrong time. Then RL and the other two can get it done with minimum of fuss!

Steppe :) I hope so too. Dh sent RL an email yesterday thanking her for all her efforts etc. and she sent a very lovely
one back.

The weather here is drizzly, a bit gusty (but not too bad), and I can even see some blue patches out there.

10.30 is only 2 hours away now! Dd kept us up all night so we're running on no sleep.

Keep all those body parts crossed!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 08:59

So... How do you want me to do this? It's a horrible day, so inbetween amusing the dcs and breastfeeding I don't have anything on :)

I'll happily do a:-

10.32am - no sign of anyone. Thought I saw a tiny farmer in the field, but it turned out he was just very far away. Weather - blizzard.

10.34am. - I now have a cup of tea. The steam is fogging up the window Shock I haven't thought this through! Weather - tornado.

And so on and so forth...

Hello, just popping back to say let me know the exact date of FYF so that I can buy the pretzels V fresh. The wurst I can start to stockpile anytime!Grin

Like the sound of potato cake... I'm sure I've made potato biscuits at some point... I know I've made chocolate courgette cake and chocolate beetroot cake... All very yummy!

Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes to plan later today FYChris.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 09:01

MrsN, will do. :) I've made parsnip cake. It was gorgeous.

OP posts:
MrsNutella · 15/02/2014 09:02

FYChris I like the inclusion of weather updates. Perhaps you could do them in a shipping forecast style?

mistlethrush · 15/02/2014 09:06

We had areally nice 'garden' cake at a NT property during 'grown your own vegetables' week - I am pretty sure it has potato, parsnip AND carrot in it - it was delicious and moist. I think it was orangy.

WhatAFeline · 15/02/2014 09:12

Waves at FuckYouChris and asks if the invisible wavers can come to FYF?

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 09:16

Feline, of course they can! :) we need wavers to greet everyone. Then anytime anyone looks like they're on their own and need some company, you can swoop in and make them feel all warm and included.

Mistle, I do like random veg in cakes.

MrsN I like it! Weather - gales north by north west, moderate or good.

I won't know what I'm talking about though. Will that matter?

OP posts:
MiscellaneousAssortment · 15/02/2014 09:17

Hello you, can I come in? I promise to leave muddy shoes at the door (waves through window, buffeted somewhat by wind and very muddy).

I tried to come offer you a glass bottle of wine last night, but couldn't get onto mumsnet for hours grrrrrrrr! Do you want a snifter in your breakfast tea?

X

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 09:19

Misc, I think that would be most appropriate. I can only apologise if my posts become increasingly incoherent and I keel over before the final update Grin

There's mud everywhere here. I've resorted to leaving a towel on the floor by the back door as a mat just wasn't cutting it.

OP posts:
MiscellaneousAssortment · 15/02/2014 09:21

Makes polite conversation, 'sooo, how's the weather? And the horses? Blood pressure?' gives up and gives you a big hug (huuuuuug).

Seriously, how's you coping today Flowers? offers hand to hold x

I have decided to buy horsey scarf only when the real ones have finally moved, so am hoping to use PayPal today :)

MiscellaneousAssortment · 15/02/2014 09:24

Yay for shipping style updates! And no, obviously you won't have a clue what you're talking about, cos I don't actually think anyone does with those things, they just sound cool :)

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 15/02/2014 09:37

Misc :) nervous but ok. Thank you for the hug. Think I need it. I'm assuming it's all going to go horribly wrong, they'll get stuck/drive into a fence/horse will bolt, but hoping for the best.

Weather - visibility poor, dd's Lego building skills moderate or good.
