The Beginning

The Middle

The end?

So... Long story short... There are horses, soon there should not be (I'm not good at summaries, they make me sound unreasonable).

We have a date! This Saturday! The horses should be taken away to pastures new, so we can roam the meadow in gingham dresses (dh looks good in a gingham dress) and we can have FuckYouFestivals to our heart's content.

There will be choirs and drums and bands and weapons and stackable goats and so much more!

Anyone who's read the threads knows I love a lurker. I can you see you out there. Go on, jump in while the thread's all new and shiny. You know you want to Wink

How do you inadvertently make marmalade? Confused

I often have conversations with Deja dog. She's a great listener and doesn't answer back, although her eyes/facial expressions can speak volumes. She's very good at the Hmm look Grin

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 15:27

Pedant, I laughed so hard Grin Grin Grin

You realise you're going to have to do all of yours at the FYF?

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 15:28

Deja, the puppy just enthusiastically agrees with everything I say. It's very affirming.

PedantMarina · 14/02/2014 15:29

Well, I'll second DP for that - he's got it memorised (and has a beard!) (fool).

We also do the Horrible Histories, songs, including Kings & Queens. Be impressed.

Name. The. Date.

DejaVuAllOverAgain · 14/02/2014 15:30

Brilliant Pedant Grin

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 15:36

Pedant, I love the horrible histories songs, they are so brilliant. Fantastic.

Date? Might need to wait for better weather Wink

PedantMarina · 14/02/2014 15:42

Oh fuck. That'll be 2030-something, then.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 15:48

Pedant, don't be pessimistic! There's usually half a day in June that's ok.

DejaVuAllOverAgain · 14/02/2014 15:49

Just long enough for us to get there then the heavens will open,

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 16:03

Deja :)

Littletabbyocelot · 14/02/2014 16:10

Yay! I'm coming to FYF! I will keep my calendar for 2030 completely clear.

Love the idea of inadvertent marmalade, how did that happen?

Deja, you're kids are very welcome to help themselves to cupcakes (as long as they are not driving, think it only takes a couple to put you over the limit) but guessing they won't want nursery rhymes?

I used to have long conversations with my cat. She did a perfect copy of DH's 'WTF, are you serious?' face, to express sympathy when I was ranting about things. Sadly, the cat decided to live with friends (they had a garden) but I could borrow her back for FYF if we want a line of expressive animals to tell UW what we really think?

AuroraRoared · 14/02/2014 16:13

I delurked on the previous thread I think, but then absentmindedly relurked!

I'm so pleased the horses are going to be "trotting on" tomorrow! (See my amazing horsey lingo there Grin)

I can offer FYF a delicious gluten free lemon drizzle cake made with mashed potato, and a bbq mad dh who will literally try to barbecue anything in sight - may be useful if the horses return! Wink

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 16:29

Littletabby, I love the idea of a line of animals giving UW Hmm faces, preferably with a line of mners doing a slow handclap behind them Grin

Aurora welcome back de-re-de-lurker! I am intrigued by your mashed potato cake! Your dh will definitely come in handy :)

Littletabbyocelot · 14/02/2014 16:34

AuroraRoared, lemon drizzle cake is my favourite food in the world and I have just gone gluten free. I haven't figured out gluten free baking yet, so am mainly baking for other people. I may have to be prised away from your cake.

AuroraRoared · 14/02/2014 16:49

Tabby while we're waiting for a firm date for FYF Wink, you can make your own lemon drizzle cake - here is the recipe. I was a bit Hmm when I first made it but it really is tasty, and I've made it for lots of gluten-eaters who tell me it is really good too (hopefully not just massaging my ego!)

I saw a similar mashed potato cake recipe in the Guardian a few weeks ago for lime and passion fruit drizzle cake which I've been meaning to try. I must get on and make it.

Rowgtfc72 · 14/02/2014 16:51

Aurora when I was ten my dad made us a chocolate mashed potato cake, alas thirty two years on can we heck as find the recipe! You wouldn't like to share your recipe would you ?!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 16:52

Looks like we're turning into a cheesecake and mashed potato cake thread Grin

AmyMumsnet · 14/02/2014 17:09

Oh gord, RL troll-swatting?! I'm not so bolshy without my big red button... may have to dig the candyfloss stand out.

We've moved this now, hope you like your new home!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 17:17

Thanks Amy :) tell you what, we'll get you a big red button, when you spot UW you press it and the Vikings will attack. You can sort that, can't you, Pedant?

OP posts:
AuroraRoared · 14/02/2014 17:21

Row unfortunately, the only recipe I have is for the drizzle cake. Perhaps it would be possible to fiddle around with it to see if you can recreate your Dad's recipe?

Sorry for the derail into mashed potato cakes FYC!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 14/02/2014 17:24

Aurora, never apologise for cake. Never!

Grin

This could end up being the best week ever!

Horses gone, thread in classics, great new friends :)

Potato sponge is potato sponge! I can just add cocoa powder to it!

Morgause · 14/02/2014 17:44

Did someone mention Cake?

I have some strawberry vodka and I know how to use it.

PedantMarina · 14/02/2014 17:48

FYC you will have to label it 'Red Mist button'. see what I did there.... hope you've read enough about Vikings to geddit

IIRC, River Cottage did something with mashed potato cakes. in their 'restaurant leftovers' episode, I believe. worth looking up if you like that kind of thing.

mistlethrush · 14/02/2014 17:49

Could have a variation on a wellie wanging competition if they leave lots of stuff in the field.....
