Aha, you got them! i just sent you an email telling you I addressed them to the wrong person ! Supposedly from the best chocolate shop in Zurich so I hope they are good!

...I'm going to sit in in the garden for 10 minutes now while babies are sleeping and dream of a wild weekend in Paris!!!!

inamuckingfuddle · 05/06/2007 19:07

Mars your weekend sounds vraiment chouette

DT2 is now on antibiotics for her chickenpox, she was really suffering poor little thing, fever, couldn't walk or eat, spots all inflamed, she didn't know what was going on she's much happier now

frumpygrumpy · 05/06/2007 19:17

dingdong sounds hellish, wishing her better soon xxx.

Mars, take me, take me, take me

I wish you girls were all in the same city. I need you all right now. Too many life decisions, too little real friends.......

We are in the same virtual city FG and can be in the same real one as quick as a flash if you want ... share with us, we might be able to help, even just off-loading here will make it all feel a bit easier to deal with - go on, you nkow it makes sense

triplets · 05/06/2007 21:41

We are here for you Frumpy

Chopster · 05/06/2007 21:55

hope dt2 is better soon, fuddle,t aht sounds awful.

mars, I am soo jealous! We were so close to goign to paris but decided on Nice instead. I foudn that in France too, I had whole conversations where I spoke french and they spoke English, it was weird!

fg, ears are on standby if you want to chat. You've prob still got my email addy too, feel free if you want to talk. xx

triplets, it probably will all change again soon. I thought with my four it would be straightforward, dd and ds1 are really close and I assumed the dts would be. However, I'm currently having to console poor dt2 who is being left out of everything.

dp has been really ill with some sort of viral thing, worst I've ever seen him, so he has been laid up in bed for the past 5 days. Last week it was the dts, and I've managed to catch conjunctivitis - I need a holiday!

MarsLady · 05/06/2007 23:35

Fg you have my email. If you use it you can have my phone number too. As the others have said... we're a virtual family here. Lean on us babe!

Leoladyofleisure · 06/06/2007 08:26

What's going on FG?

Kelly do you have holiday planned?

We are deciding between visiting my sister in Mallorca or touring through France (with caravan) to (another) sister in s.w. France. Getting on a airplane and strolling to the pool everyday is seeming more appealing that dragging across france with a caravan at moment....

BTW, if any of you are interested my sister (the on in S.W. france) and her boyfriend run a vinyard and have just produced their first wine, they visited us last week (hence that glass too much that I had ), we were really impressed with the wine (even before we had a glass too many). They have found someone to sell their wine in the UK, so if anyone is interested in giving it a go send me an email and I will send you details of where you can get it - ldgldg at bluewin dot ch.

Chopster · 06/06/2007 10:07

ooh leo I will email you when I get a minute.

We are going back to spain again in august. I always swore I would't be one of those boring people who go to the same place every year but it's ideal for the kids, and until they get a bit older it's more practical. And it is so lovely there. I like the soudn of touring through france, but then I don't really do lazing by the pool type holidays. I'm totally anal and get a huge itinerary all worked out.

dp is still ill, gotta take him to the drs today. He can't drive atm with his eyes.

Chopster · 06/06/2007 10:09

I must say I am very envious of the caravan. I keep thinking about taking up camping, would love to tour round europe. It's going to have to wait until the dts are a bit better behaved though, atm I'd never get them to go to sleep in a tent.

triplets · 06/06/2007 12:39

We bought a trailer tent two years ago and I hated every minute. Took all day to set up, 5 days there, rained every day, then all day to pack it up, wet! We are off to the States for 4 whole weeks!

triplets · 06/06/2007 12:40

Frumpy,
Stop by so we all know you are ok. xxx

Leoladyofleisure · 06/06/2007 13:32

Kelly, I am also definitely not a lazing by the pool person although I do like to be able to have a good swim, but this year it would be really nice to catch up on some rest! My sister will also be around so will help with the dcs and her ds will entertain ds1!

Triplets, LOL, I can imagine it!

I also prefer camping but couldn't get dh to do it and a caravan is easier with children definitely, I'm not sure I would have one in the UK though but we have italy, austria, france, germany all on our doorstep (not to mention Switzerland itself).

Leoladyofleisure · 06/06/2007 13:48

I meant to add to the list of things I am often asked by total strangers when out with the dts -

  • were they born by caesarian !
  • am I breastfeeding!

Are either anyone's bloody business????

I've also been asked how old I am , but I think the woman who asked me was absolutely desperate to have children and wanted to check I was older than her to reassure her she still had time left!

Went supermarket shopping today and there is a lovely lady I always see there working in the dairy section who always stops and asks me how we are doing - i do appreciate that!

.... and finally, i have to rave about the Ergo baby carrier. I've just brought one and it is fantastic! ds1 loves riding on my back in it, and its much less strain on my back than the baby bjorn when front carrying and much less faff than one of those long wrap cloth things. I love it!

Chopster · 06/06/2007 16:01

Ooh I forgot you are in switzerland. You are so lucky, I'd love to be so centrally located.

I actually got asked if mine were twins again today. And if they were boys.
They were both dressed identically, sitting side by side in the buggy in navy tshirts and short dungarees. I hadn't heard it in a while so was too surprised to get in a witty comeback.

Has anyone ever worried that their kids might be too close? dd and ds1 seem to be gettign worse now they are at the same school, and they seem to lack any independance. It is very sweet to see them so close, and they do fight a fair bit too, but one can't even go to the toilet without the other following. It's absurd - we call them tweedledee and tweedledum.

Chopster · 06/06/2007 16:13

jsut realised we need to start thinking of thread titles!

d'ya ever wonder how many times you will be asked if they are twins?

triplets · 06/06/2007 16:22

Can`t remember how mant times I have ben asked how on earth do I tell mine apart! Urghhhhhhhhhhhh..........two boys and one girl to start off with. Girl blonde hair and the biggest hazel eyes I have ever seen. Boy 1, blonde hair and very blue eyes, boy 2, dark brown hair and dark brown eyes! If anyone else says on learning they are triplets says, "rather you than me", or the worst thing is how kind we are to be taking our grandchildren out", I shall scream!

frumpygrumpy · 06/06/2007 17:15

Sorry to worry anyone am ok really. Finding it difficult to chat, DP about much atm. Just life/work stuff with DP. We have some choices to make and its tough. Could use everyone's opinion but (a) can't get time on here and (b) wouldn't want to post all the detail. OOOhhhh what am I like. Anyway, will do what I am really, really good at. Gona shut that elephant in that cupboard and carry on like it aint there

D'y ever wonder how much popcorn you could eat in one go?
D'y ever wonder how many bras everyone else has?
D'y ever wonder if leg hair could be plaited?
D'y ever wonder if men oggle your legs/arse/boobs? (delete as app)

OP posts:
Chopster · 06/06/2007 17:45

Ooh I like the leg hair one

You thinking of moving again, fg?
Hope it all gets sorted for you soon anyway, whatever it is.

marie22 · 06/06/2007 19:11

ummm i like the popcorn title! im going to the cinema tomorrow to see captain jack! cant wait! just hope the babies dont want to watch it too! im so bored of laying around! should be interesting to see if i can still fit in the chairs and sit still for 2/3 hours!
f/g sorry to hear your having problems!

estar · 06/06/2007 23:39

I'm up for yours Kelly - 'd'ya ever wonder how many times you will be asked if they are twins?'

My second most common comment atm (after 'oooo, you've got your hands full') is 'gosh, aren't they different?' in a totally amazed voice like it had never occurred to people before that twins can be distinguishable from each other.

And the reason? Because one has curly hair and one has straight hair. It makes strangers gawp at them in shops like its the wierdest trick of nature they've ever seen....

MarsLady · 06/06/2007 23:56

got bored.... went with estar's preference and started a new thread cos my pc is too full to deal with such a long thread. We'll have to use the leg hair one next time. Sorry!!!!!!!! The Mars has spoken! lol
