so have I read that right, you are going to be running antenatel classes? That sounds great!

agree about the ld cake. I really must make some for the next school cake sale. I went to one today and it was a sorry trun out. I've never actually donated yet. B ut I bought lot of cheap school uniform bits for the kids. I've still yet to pay £10 for a school logo sweater

Harrogatemum · 28/03/2007 07:53

Hi all - Mars do tell what the great name for the antenatal class was that has already gone, then we can come up with some snappy alternatives!

MarsLady · 28/03/2007 09:01

It's called (and it's such an obvious name) Expectancy!

Isn't that great? Why didn't I think of that 10 years ago? Sigh................

Twinmummyx2 · 28/03/2007 12:05

frumpy grumpy...i am in Jersey, where are you?

a question-are we allowed to put our e-mail addys on these sorts of posts??

me.x

Harrogatemum · 28/03/2007 13:10

oh yes!! What a great name! Hmmm, must get thinking cap on.....

Twinmummyx2 - if you want to email someone you can click on the envelope sign on the bar where their user name is.

MarsLady · 28/03/2007 13:11

I'm supposed to be writing an essay HM but I've found myself caught up in the funniest thread... though I'm being truly wicked in linking it! lol

Kelly1978 · 28/03/2007 13:12

Hi twinmummy. I missed your other thread, but welcome to mn. Wow at the 8 kids! I have four and lots of people I meet think that is more than my fair share.
You can post your email address if you want to, there aren't any rules against it. MN is a very laid back place mostly.

frumpygrumpy · 28/03/2007 13:18

Wished I'd stayed up last night! I got my head on the pillow and DT2 then kept me up until 2am She is not quite herself. Nippy bottom with happy rash and a sore throat I think (dodgy breath). Poor wee thing.

I'm sitting having lunch so I'm dipping into that thread Mars.....

Dodgy pizza, I think dt1 had stomach ache.

that thread is very funny!

largeginandtonic · 28/03/2007 15:11

LOL at that thread!!!! Easy solution, eat all the food in the fridge Actually id only be upset if he was necking my bottle of chilled white too......

Twinmummy, 8 children!!!!! I am not going to be catching you up any time soon. I always wanted an 8th though, love the name Octavia\octavius, but not enough to do this again twice!

Have eaten an entire toblerone.....all for the baby obviously he has been behaving so thought he deserved a reward

Packing up as i will be off to Plymouth tomorrow, yay! Hope i make it.......

MarsLady · 28/03/2007 16:43

I'm sure you'll make it to Plymouth. Is that where you'll get your vaginal breech?

It was too too funny. Bless the OP. Another MN baptism of fire (almost!)

You all have to be good to me. Make me stop posting. I have to complete this essay. It's worth 15% of my overall grade. Sigh..........

largeginandtonic · 28/03/2007 18:00

Off you go Mars > very stern voice.....

That is hopefully where i will get my breech birth, Derriford hospital. He may turn i suppose, not convinced really though. Oh well, another box to tick in how many different ways a woman can give birth >

I read the Mary Cronk link, thanx Mars. Im sure it would be ok, it's just having an experienced midwife would make me feel better. Not some jumpy nervous one with a bloomin consultant itching to take over and screw it all up.

Poor op, wonder if she has already downed a bottle of wine and several G&T's

frumpygrumpy · 28/03/2007 18:27

LG&T, good luck my darling. Babies can turn anytime can't they? I remember when DT2 did the opposite and turned breech! It was one night when I'd just got into bed. My bump went in all directions and I felt like I would burst or crescendo into labour any second. It was uncomfortable and scary I was over eight months and there cannot have been much room in there. Anyway, I'm just saying, there's still plenty time. Bum in the air honey, that'll turn our little fresh one. Watch out for DP though

Mars, the sooner you cut the plug off the pc the sooner you can re-cable it and bash back in to the party. Gaun yersel hen, we'll see you when you return. Now bugger off, write like mad, and get your sweet arse back in here.

frumpygrumpy · 28/03/2007 18:34

For Mars to read 3.4.07 (i.e. once the deed is done)

I thought of another name for your classes:

Sign In Here If You've Swallowed A Space Hopper

(sorry two glasses of wine in a short space of time, I shouldn't do it)

rosmerrin · 28/03/2007 18:53

Yahooooooooo - DT2 has been cleared to go back to pre-school tomorrow and DT1 on Friday.

I am so relieved - its not that I dont enjoy time with my gorgeous boys, but put them all together at once and they just fight, fight, fight and it drives me crazy. Each individually is an angel or either DT with DS3 is ok but the DTs together can be diabolical.

My dad and I took them all to the beach today, one of the advantages of living in Cornwall. Where we are there are both north and south coast beaches within 15 mins car drive away. DT1 had complete hysterics when we went down to the water as DH and my BIL took them and my niece and nephew at Christmas and, typical men, managed to get everyone soaked by a big wave (in December I ask you) All the children came home semi naked and shivering. So now DT1 wont let anyone paddle - which is a bit of a problem living down here. The other problem that I keep forgetting is that when you get home and take boots and clothes off there is usually half a ton of sand deposited in the car and the house. My favourite is the trouser turn ups - gets me every time - all over the bedroom floor.

LOL at that poor lady posting about the toddler in the kitchen (open plan dont forget) I had 3 baby dan playpens put together to line the dining room into an enormous play pen and I think they lived in it for about a year - until they learned how to climb out and we moved onto dog gates! Much higher!. I am a firm believer in a fully segregated house!

largeginandtonic · 28/03/2007 19:03

baby egg bearers

Class for how to squeeze something the size of a watermelon out of something the size of a lemon.....

ummmmmm

frumpygrumpy · 28/03/2007 20:08

OK, so I don't want to cook, the cupboards/fridge have/has nothing enticing in them/it. I won't order take away for one. So wtf can I have for dinner? Wish DP was here, then we could persuade each other that we need/deserve the local italian that does a lovely dish to collect.

Last time I did this dingdong persuaded me to have fish fingers and beans. Its a possibility but offers on a Turkish Delight please..........

OP posts:
dingdongjustforyoufg · 28/03/2007 20:17

did I really, how naughty of me so what do you have in the house?

dingdongjustforyoufg · 28/03/2007 20:22

I can recommend the wine and nuts diet, which I am currently following very carefully

frumpygrumpy · 28/03/2007 20:44

oh I have had 3 too many glasses of wine already and I wasn't going to drink tonight (said the AA newbie ) and a packet of crips

Can you believe I have booked a gym induction on Monday I mean, FFS, its ME we're talking about. I'm not overweight by any means but MY GOD, THIS BODY WILL BE IN HOSPITAL BY TUESDAY!!!!

Anyway, I have:

frozen : fish fingers, chips, corn cobs, or soup or bollognese or curry (none of the latter will defrost in time)

cupboard : pasta, rice, beans, olives, tuna, corn and many more dull things

fridge : smoked haddock that I bought on Friday that I would be too scared to eat, cheese, eggs (NO, I hate omlette), rollmops (ate at lunchtime with salad), half bag salad, tomatoes, avocado, yoghurt, carrots, cucumber.....

I need a ready meal. Something HOT and requiring no thought or prep.

Beans on toast its gona have to be I fear. I hate cooking for one

OP posts:
dingdongjustforyoufg · 28/03/2007 20:49

umm, at the risk of sounding repetitive, I'd suggest fish fingers and beans with bread and butter to wipe up the bean juice, or even to make a fish finger sarnie, coudl quite fancy that myself, but have had chicken salad tonight

dingdongjustforyoufg · 28/03/2007 20:50

btw well done on the gym induction

Leoladyofleisure · 28/03/2007 20:51

Hi all, I am feeling totally out of this thread now but just popping into say hello and let you know that I am still happily surviving !

I am getting almost no sleep due to very unsettled babies with unbelievably bad wind, but the doctor has given us something like infacol so I'm hoping for a better night tonight.

Absolutely loving and adoring my beautiful little boys (all of them!) - Ds1 seems to be much more settled again and is the most adorable 2 year old!

....that's it for now.
