Sok- Fee is having Endovascular Neurosurgery (it's a mouth full!). They're attempting to close the deep, hard to reach artery that feeds the AVM with micro coil, and use glue to close the other vessels. That's the plan anyway. He will have to be put to sleep and monitored by EEG. They say it could take up to 9 hours - he's been under for 3 hours now and I'm a friggin nervous wreck. They won't yet give us an estimated date of when he could go home so he'll be in over Christmas :(

I love bats. We have some that habitat in our loft in July. We also have put up bat houses in trees and back of our house in case they come back. If you have bats you don't have to remove or worry about them; they've very clean (they groom), they don't infest females only usually have one baby and are only usually seasonal visitors. Check here to see if you have them. Don't think you have though as they're more active in summer. I'm sure no-one will now if you remove squirrels back into your garden Wink No-one likes to put an animal, even pesking rodents, down.

No snow here :( Just a mix of cold sunshine, rain and clouds! I want some snow! :)

bubby64 · 07/12/2014 17:07

hi all. just got up early to put up tree and decorated living room. also put on dinner, I am due to do another night tonight so can't be arsed to put up decs I rest of house yet. Really not in a festive mood. we couldn't afford to go to my work Christmas do on Friday, going to have to put presents on credits card and can't afford much anyway. we should be sorted out again by end of Jan/Feb, but thats not much use atm. also, have no idea whatcto get ds, as there is no way I can afford what they asked for, and the only other thing they want is cash!
mama, hope fee is ok following op, I'm sure he will be, but it is always a worry.

bubby64 · 07/12/2014 17:08

sorry- just read what a self obsessed rant I have postedSad

Chopstheduck · 07/12/2014 17:25

aww, bubbs xx

You are trying your best, try not to beat yourself up over it all. The boys are old enough to understand.

soks, my inlaws had squirrels. I think they put poison down :(

MultipleMama · 07/12/2014 17:34

Rant away, bubs. I have many of times! My brother is always a PITA to buy for and why does everything have to be expensive these days. I hope you enjoy your Xmad though and your boys are happy with what they get xx

Fee is still in surgery. Can't believe how long it's taking and no one will tell us anything yet. Tried to nap with DH but we're both restless. DC and family have been up to sit with us but are now at home with Petrov, Halo has stayed with us though.

Hey, chops :)

MultipleMama · 07/12/2014 19:49

Fee is in PICU and doing very well. There was complications during the neurosurgery so took longer than they expected and he coded but brought back quickly. They also managed to close all the vessels now we just have to monitor him as over time they can reopen. His laser surgery went perfect. He'll be under observation for 12-24 hours then moved back to NICU. Now it's all up to him to recover and get stronger :)

triplets · 07/12/2014 22:56

Very relieved all has gone to plan Mama, must have been hell waiting for him to come out of surgery.
Bubbs, mine have only got what they have because of Tesco double up vouchers! Thank God for Tesco! I no longer work out what I have spent on each one, I try and get what they ask for within reason, and so far they all seem happy, so this year I have actually spent more on J than the others because their main present was paid for in freebie vouchers! I spent ALL day writing cards, going to make the kids hand deliver a whole load this year and have really cut down on the ones I have to post. Will no doubt feel a twinge of guilt if I receive one from someone I have struck off, but really the postage is shocking. Kale Nits all xx

Minisoksmakehardwork · 07/12/2014 23:01

End of jan/feb feels such a long way away right now Bubs. It will soon be here but doesn't help with the 'right now' when it's the time of year purses feel like they need to be bottomless.

We've got some Rat/mouse poison as had mice in the downstairs loo and couldn't get hold of traps at the time. I'm reluctant to put it in the loft though as I don't want to come across dead bodies while in sorting stuff out.

It's all quiet right now but did sound like something was being dragged across the loft this morning.

Glad Fee is out and doing well. Hope the complications aren't going to set him back further. And having the eye surgery done too. Poor sausage. Fingers

triplets · 07/12/2014 23:27

I have a very hungry cat you could borrow?

MultipleMama · 08/12/2014 04:05

I have a dog that will chase anything. You can borrow the daft bugger if you like!

I'm impatient so the wait was horrible. The hospital phoned and told us that Fee has had a little hiccup and is back on 100% oxygen from 40% :( but he's still doing well. DH has gone back to the hospital while I stay with a cranky Halo who has suddenly got a runny nose... DC will be up soon and I haven't sleep yet. Urgh.

I still find buying presents hard, can't imagine what I'll be like when they're teenagers. That's a scary thought!

Hope tomorrow is lovely for you ladies. How is the leg, Shabs? And your burns, Bubs? Xx

bubby64 · 08/12/2014 09:37

Just got in from work, trying to stsy awake as much as possible today, to try and get my body clock back in sync.
Glad Fee is doing well again Mama.
Trips- I have 3 cats, but only Rosie hunts, the one who dissappeared for weeks at a time several months ago -she returned whilst ewe were on holiday! Unfortunately, she keeps bring both dead and live mice for us to admire, so it's her bringing in vermin, not the vermin coming in by themselves!!
I don't know what to get for DH, apart from the mini bluetooth speaker I have already got him, I think that will have to do. As for the boys, M wants a model kit and J wants an xbox game.

Minisoksmakehardwork · 08/12/2014 14:01

Well this morning the noises honestly sounded like something moving stuff around! Although I did venture up there last night to get the Christmas cards down and didn't see anything hugely worrying. Just need to make sure all the premmie clothes are ok as am sending them on to my friend for her boy.

This morning James performed inn keeper number 1 beautifully. He did his one line word perfectly. Although was telling us this morning that he would rather have had number 2's line ('book early to avoid disappointment').

Emily's year/class were all chorus line. But they did really well to manage 3 outfits and 3 songs/dances within an hour.

I too have no idea what to get dh for Xmas, beyond the usual pile of hideous socks/pants which have become tradition. He's a sod for buying whatever he needs/wants though. He's also already given me my new slippers. They are cosy warm though so I've forgiven him.

MultipleMama · 09/12/2014 02:14

I attend my first school play this Friday - K is a star and he is not impressed as he wanted to be the top half a donkey Grin Then Monday it's his and A's Christmas party. And so it begins...

You could always try both the cat and dog! Grin Did he enjoy playing the innkeeper?

I have some amazing proud mama news. Halo sat up unassisted for the first time ever today!! Took 14 months but he did it!! He was laid on his back on the bed and I thought he was just rolling over put he pushed himself to sit for a few seconds and then reached for me - all while having a tantrum! DH and I are too excited by this! Grin

Chopstheduck · 09/12/2014 08:02

Morning ladies x

Happy birthday to shabs! Hope you have a lovely day xx

I never know what to get my dh neither. He is impossible to buy for - everything he likes is usually technology based and costs £££!

Minisoksmakehardwork · 09/12/2014 08:17

Oh half my message was missing! I was wondering about putting cat and dog together...

Alternative plan is to get the children to listen to the noises and then tell them Santa's elves keep visiting to make sure they're being good. Do you think I can pull that one off? So many of my friends are doing elf on the shelf and it does look so much fun. But such hard work to keep up. I just wouldn't have time.

Well done Halo! By Christmas he will be tearing your tree down mama Smile how is fee doing? I assume he's still in picu at the moment.

James did enjoy inn keeper. He was a bit confused about going back to school for the evening performance, which they will do again tonight. But I sent him in his all in one pjs to make changing easier. His TA was very pleased Grin plus it meant I could send them straight up to bed when they came home. Although they were all still bouncing at 9pm last night.

Did someone say birthday???Wine it's been a long time since I've been on to say hello but I can't miss Shabs birthday!! Hope you have as good a day as poss Shabs, I've read through a bit of the thread but time waits for no woman so if anyone wants to do me a round up of the last year that would be great!!!

Hello to all my old pals and hello to any new folks who probably aren't new at all just I'm a slacker!

News in the hm household, twins turned 10 last month and dd was 8.....time flies! Dh continues to work like crazy and never be at home. He has has two heart procedures this year a cardioversion and an ablation to get his heart in sinus rhythm which seems to have worked fingers crossed!!

MultipleMama · 09/12/2014 15:25

Happy birthday Shabs!!! Grin Cake

Minisoksmakehardwork · 09/12/2014 15:35

Sounds good for DH that the ops have worked so keeping fingers crossed for you. X

I had a visit from a friend today. I say friend, I'd kind of downgraded her to acquaintance as she's cancelled the last few times we were supposed to meet (she and her ex, who is still a friend, split last year and I think she found it weird to be friends with us too) I honestly wasn't expecting her to turn up today Blush. But she did and we had a good old chin wag. Said we mustn't leave it so long and she's going to join my rainbow unit as a much needed volunteer. Fingers crossed because we were yapping away like nothing had changed.
