Well ... it's been one hell of a month hasn't it? I hope everyone is safe and well (and not going too mad with kids and partners at home!). As always, referral links and new starters are welcome, think we're all going to need a boost financially over the next few months.

I think my prolific must be broke I haven’t had a survey for weeks :(

BertieBotts · 19/04/2020 18:19

Prolific is alright, it's fairly consistent but I only make about €20 a month from it.

Some of the UHRS jobs are extremely frustrating because it just seems totally random what you're being asked to do to qualify, especially when there are no pepper guidelines.

I failed a neevo test where I couldn't see what I'd done wrong, that was frustrating. I've only got one task from them so far. Everything else has been full before I got onto it.

When they have the video uploading tasks - do they actually want you to go out and record videos for 8 cents apiece? Have I massively misunderstood that one because it sounds like a pisstake. Obviously can't go out to record now anyway but even so!

Kaylsar · 19/04/2020 18:25

For Neevo, I think the video task is 80p (0.80) not 0.8 not that even 0.8 is worth it

BertieBotts · 19/04/2020 20:11

Ah, that makes more sense. I suppose if you recorded loads it might be worth it then. But not really if you're just trawling through videos you've already taken.

TheLolaMontez · 20/04/2020 08:58

Hi everyone,
Terrible month for me again so far, I just don't have the time or energy to dedicate to anything right now!

NCforsafety · 20/04/2020 10:19

@girlicone how do you see the queue length on Potato? I go in and it just gives me the two queues I can work in but nothing else (specifically the size of the queue). Thanks :)

Suebnm · 20/04/2020 11:48

@NCforsafety

I know you have asked someone else and this answer might be irrelevant but the queue is on dashboard or klipfolio. Not on the UI bit you go into to moderate.

NCforsafety · 20/04/2020 15:46

Thanks @Suebnm - I don't have klipfolio log ins yet so that's prob why I can't see it.

Wheelyyyy · 20/04/2020 16:13

I got in!!!😲🥳🥳🥳🥳

Wheelyyyy · 20/04/2020 16:19

Oh i need to catch up on this thread. Congratulations everyone and fellow newbie potatoes xxx

Fedupandpoor · 20/04/2020 16:38

New potato people, are you working in both queues or just the one? Did you read all of the wiki first? I've sat down twice to get started but all the info gets overwhelming and I chicken out Sad

justtheonethen · 20/04/2020 16:47

@Wheelyyyy yay!!!

@Fedupandpoor I wouldn't do both at the same time- that would be confusing I think. I wouldn't read the whole thing, lots of it will be irrelevant to you. Better to read the guidelines on each item as you work through and any relevant wiki pieces for those.

Fedupandpoor · 20/04/2020 17:05

@justtheonethen Oh I didn't mean at the same time! I was having a read through the wiki and it was saying unless you read and like the text then you cannot access the monitoring queue. I really struggle with reading instructions and applying them in real life, once I've got the hang of it I'm fine it's just the beginning.

Kaylsar · 20/04/2020 18:01

I’ve got a question about b@-!
Are the top 5 URLs the first five that appear in results or the five that i think are most appropriate
I am getting so confused 😐

margaritasbythesea · 20/04/2020 18:11

I am having a lovely afternoon filling in my tax return and I can't find the answer to a question I have. I was wondering if anyone else knows.

If I am registered as self-employed but earning less than £6365 and claiming child benefit is there any advantage to me in paying voluntary contributions?

I am going round in circles on the HMRC website trying to find an anser but the most secure information I can find is that I can pay if I want to (but not why I would want to) and that I 'could' be covered by my child benefit for NIC Class 2 (but not the criteria for being covered or not).

It's not that much and I don't mind paying but I am confused about whether I should or not.

Lougle · 20/04/2020 18:14

I think I've lost heart with UTest and I'm debating whether I should click the link on B*.

margaritasbythesea · 20/04/2020 18:18

BTW I just noticed that Bane had me down to qualify again even though I have already worked it. I didn't get a link and I am wondering if this is why. It might be worth other people checking. It took a minute to fill out the form, if that.

Catatemyhomework · 20/04/2020 18:31

I've finally been sent a B* link. Been out so only just seen it. Came home and tried one and timed out. Not sure if I'll continue with it now. Maybe if there's some left tomorrow I'll take another look but don't fancy it now. It isn't enough time.

Starlight2004 · 20/04/2020 18:34

Hmmm this new timeframe on B**e really has gone from one extreme to the other. How they can expect quality work combining 2 parts in 2 minutes is just crazy! I keep timing out just taking a second to check if two links might be duplicated or something. They are going to get a lot of mistakes!

Loopyteddy · 20/04/2020 18:36

Against my better judgement I clicked the B* link. I timed out the first time and thought I must've taken longer than I realised. I tried again and took 3 minutes and it still timed out...

ifuckarses · 20/04/2020 18:42

I got my B* link too. The email was worded as if I'd just been accepted, despite the fact I did 16 hours last month Hmm

I'm going to have a look later, after the 3 year old is in bed. I'm not holding out much hope, but quite frankly I'm desperate as it's the only A*n project that I actually get any work for.

tootyfruitypickle · 20/04/2020 18:45

I’ve just got bane link too. Is the consensus that there’s no point ?

tootyfruitypickle · 20/04/2020 18:46

2 minutes for part 2 definitely isn’t possible - is that what it is?!

DarkPassenger · 20/04/2020 18:49

I received a B* link too. However when I click it I get taken to an Appen page, not F8, and after several attempts with both my Ap and F logins I am now down to 4 attempts left and if they fail I'll be locked out for an hour.

I've had a look on both the Ap chats but can't see anyone else has raised this as an issue.

Have you guys just got the normal F8 page? Or which log in worked for the new one? Very frustrated and not even started yet!

unicornpoopoop · 20/04/2020 18:49

I just got the bane email and clicked it not realised it took you straight to the open task and I was on my phone. So I had to leave that to open the laptop. Then out of the 5 I've done so far I've timed out on 3 despite them being easy ones that just needed a straight copy and paste without much thought.

How would you possibly do it if the term needed researching??
