£10 a day thread, January part two

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

Has anyone got revolut and chip? Are they the same?

nothingchangesonnewyearsday · 13/01/2020 12:36

.

themoneyshed · 13/01/2020 12:45

@lilmishap

revolut and chip are different companies

Revolut is a smartphone app that is more about helping you with money management

Those of you who do utest. I'm just doing the mobile test cycle but I need to submit device logs am I correct in thinking that you need an actual computer to do this because yet again I don't have one?

I am assured this one should work. Sorry if it doesn't.

themoneyshed · 13/01/2020 12:48

@whereareyousleep

Yes for uTest you will need to use a laptop for the majority of the paid work available I'm afraid.

GailLondon · 13/01/2020 12:49

Just been paid my December appen invoice £1072!!! Shame the projects have dried up now but that was a very welcome boost

I've just done Chip but didn't see where to enter the code.

themoneyshed · 13/01/2020 12:51

@GailLondon

WOW! That's fantastic! Nice work!

MoreMoneyPlease · 13/01/2020 12:57

@GailLondon that's amazing, well done! My payment was about £300 - I blame bloody Christmas guests getting in the way of me doing any work...and now it's dried up completely for me too Angry

Lougle · 13/01/2020 12:58

Wow GailLondon I hope I can start some Appen soon!

@whereareyousleep yes, although you are creating the bug on your mobile, you need a computer to record the log via USB and the instructions clearly say that apps wasn't allowed.

Lougle · 13/01/2020 12:58

*aren't allowed.

MoreMoneyPlease · 13/01/2020 12:59

toastytea · 13/01/2020 13:09

I've been paid from appen, woohooo!

Now just need some more projects.
Have utest to get to grips with but I've read that that one takes a little time before you make anything.

I'm still waiting for Cala test. Is that just over with now?

rhij86 · 13/01/2020 13:10

@toastytea same here! in search of a double pram at a decent price so that I know the money has at least gone to something useful this month!

whereareyousleep · 13/01/2020 13:13

Thanks that's disappointing I can do everything else but the log screenshots and recordings etc what a shame Sad I did the introduction to testing bug easily.

whereareyousleep · 13/01/2020 13:14
  • I can do everything else screenshots and recording etc just not the log.
BertieBotts · 13/01/2020 13:21

That's annoying - on We Are Testers you can do some of the missions directly with a phone, BTW.

toastytea · 13/01/2020 13:35

@rhij86 we're putting ours towards decorating! Are you after double buggy or pram? If it's the former, I'd def look at second hand! I used mine for a few months and then sold on again. If you're having it for teeny newborns then ignore me Grin

rhij86 · 13/01/2020 13:39

@toastytea it will need to be part and part haha - my son is 1 so with another on the way I'll need one that does both the newborn carrycot and a pram seat. Still looking at second hand!

MoreMoneyPlease · 13/01/2020 13:45

@BertieBotts I've just signed up to We Are Testers but have no bug testing experience. Is it self-explanatory once you accept a mission or do I need to read up a bit before I start?

toastytea · 13/01/2020 13:51

@rhij86 you can get amazing deals second hand!We're on to the buggy board now and double buggy long gone. Good luck with the search!

Catatemyhomework · 13/01/2020 13:51

Thanks for the new thread @Otterses. Sorry you haven't been feeling well. It is a rubbish time of year. I have submitted my first test cycle bug report for UTest and have just found out that I passed, so chuffed with that. It has taken me all morning though! Does anyone know when you start to get a rating with UTest?

lilmishap · 13/01/2020 13:52

@whereareyousleep Have you looked at the mobile app testing sites?

rhij86 · 13/01/2020 13:53

@toastytea do you mind me asking how old the one on the buggy board is? I was trying to gague whether it was worth getting a double but I have no idea how long the older one will still need the pram/pushchair for so I'm stumped!
