£10 a day thread, January part two

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

@SlidingDown Webusability.co.uk are looking for testers,
they say
We also test sites with users with disabilities to ensure our clients’ websites can be accessed by all. We need testers with visual impairments, (especially those who use screen readers and screen magnification software), motor impairments (e.g. people who don’t use a mouse or who use other input devices) and people with cognitive impairments (e.g. dyslexia, learning difficulties).

mummaaw · 14/01/2020 10:25

Free instant £10 if you use his referral code

mummaaw · 14/01/2020 10:25

That was for chip

themoneyshed · 14/01/2020 10:33

@Catatemyhomework

Profit Accumulator is, without doubt, the easiest to use / most helpful. There's a special link for £70 odd quid off their membership on that blog post I linked you to ;)

SpinneyHill · 14/01/2020 10:35

20cogs What happens if you already signed up to some of the offers previously, Does a new email cover it?

Catatemyhomework · 14/01/2020 10:46

Thanks @themoneyshed, I will definitely look into Profit Accumulator.
I am now trying to sort out the fact that I have set up PayPal account with Coral and Betfair. It is difficult and I'm not really getting anywhere with the help menus on the sites. All I want to do is add my new Monzo account when the card arrives and transfer the money from the Paypal accounts on Coral and Betfair to Monzo. It seems to be an impossible task. Hopefully, when I add the new account, it will become clearer. The bet has to be placed with a debit card for Coral to qualify for the free bets. Not sure about Betfair, they might be alright. I am looking into it. This is a minefield!

Sallycinnamum · 14/01/2020 10:50

I've signed up to avert Appen project and thought I was getting somewhere but it's ground to a halt. I'm guessing they receive alot of applications in January and I may not suit their requirements for some projects so it might be a case of just biding my time.

Boobahs · 14/01/2020 10:53

For people who are working for Crisp, did you just get a random email one day when they wanted you? I passed the test at the beginning of Sept, it's just so frustrating having no updates to go on! Envy

Yugi · 14/01/2020 11:05

Boobahs Yes, after months of waiting an email appeared from nowhere

buffythevampireslayer91 · 14/01/2020 11:10

Hiya, I've been watching these threads over the last year and I'm interested in some of the ideas. But I can't commit to £10 a day - have loads going on. So far I've signed up to appen, waiting for my first qualification - anyone know how long this can take? It's been two weeks already. I signed up to crisper but only got 80% and pass is 90% any chance they will still contact me?? I've also signed up to Neevo and done the listening test but no jobs showing yet? And could you tel me what CHIP is?? Thanks all. So inspired by all the post

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 14/01/2020 11:13

The most offensive things i've seen on Appen are pro-Trump ads and 'treatments' for Autism. Not sure that's quite what they mean by offensive though!

themoneyshed · 14/01/2020 11:15

@buffythevampireslayer91

Chip is an app you can use on your smartphone to save / stash money. It's VERY clever and you'll be amazed at how much it can make a difference to your finances

Details (including a £10 for EVERYONE code) in here

themoneyshed · 14/01/2020 11:15

@Catatemyhomework

Is there a practical reason why you can't just use a regular UK debit card for Matched Betting or am I missing something lol?

themoneyshed · 14/01/2020 11:21

@Sallycinnamum

Sites like Appen tend to be a law unto themselves and are very much 'all or nothing'. All you can do is keep applying and hope for the best with them ;)

Catatemyhomework · 14/01/2020 11:24

@themoneyshed, no reason at all. I've just been a bit stupid and jumped the gun a bit. Am waiting for card for new bank account and it hasn't yet arrived. Didn't want to use existing bank account in case I have issues re-mortgaging further down the line. Anyway, I signed up last night using PayPal. My mistake and it will teach me for diving in too quickly. All sorted now. Have withdrawn the PayPal deposits and will set up with new card when it arrives. After all, there is no rush! Wink

themoneyshed · 14/01/2020 11:26

@Catatemyhomework

Great that you've got it all sorted!

Need to invent a rhyme/mantra for those starting Matched Betting!

Debit Debit NO PAYPAL!

MoreMoneyPlease · 14/01/2020 11:31

Thanks @rhij86 @SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock I'll say I'm happy (won't be happy to see Trunp though Hmm)! Hopefully, I can then get some hours logged on this new project Smile

QueenOfCatan · 14/01/2020 11:39

Once Appen have approved you for a project and you've sent in your documents, how long does it take them to check them? I got receipt of my docs on the 28th of December and I can't apply to anything else via Appen as they are still reviewing them?

MynameisJune · 14/01/2020 11:42

@QueenofCatan it took about 6 weeks for me

whereareyousleep · 14/01/2020 12:02

Freetrade link if anybody still needs one

freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=1TVQE0MRUY&sender=HPpbSrT3 You should sign up to Freetrade! It’s an app for investing in the stock market with no fees. Plus, when you sign up, we both get a free mystery share!

QueenOfCatan · 14/01/2020 12:03

@mynameisjune thank you! that is reassuring! I'm struggling to get any work of any kind at the moment and was excited when that came through, looks like I have a wait on my hands then.

MynameisJune · 14/01/2020 12:04

Crispers when do the invoice emails hit? Just want to make sure I don't miss it.

Patapouf · 14/01/2020 12:14

I've just had another Freetrade link come through if anyone is still looking for one?

freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=BLWRLLILOO&sender=SAocjP7z You should sign up to Freetrade! It’s an app for investing in the stock market with no fees. Plus, when you sign up, we both get a free mystery share!

I got as far as opening a tab with profit accumulator on last night and decided I was too tired to start matched betting. I want to make sure I get it right so I need to have a fresh head for it.

Whatsmyname2019 · 14/01/2020 12:24

@MynameisJune I just came to ask that too lol. Are you still in monitoring? I’ve only been into mod2 once !

ZetaPuppis · 14/01/2020 12:34

How are all the new C risp people getting on?
@Whatsmyname2019 haha that’s what I did and I got a bit scared Smile
I’m only averaging around £3 per hr.
