CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL - TUESDAY 12th - FRIDAY 15th MARCH 2019

The offers I am planning to take advantage of are:-

  • Skybet - money back as cash if you lose - up to £20 - 1st Race every day of the festival. Expected Value: £16 per day, £64 in total
  • betway - if your horse loses in the first or last race at Cheltenham each day, we’ll refund you with a Free Bet up to £/€10 in each race. Expected Value: £6 per race, £48 in total
  • Ladbrokes - £1 free bet each day of the festival. Expected Value: £0.70 per race, £2.80 in total
  • William Hill - I have a few £5 free bets already set up which should credit to be used on Tuesday.
  • Matchbook- £20 free bet sign up offer.

I'm interested in the extra place offers offered by Betfred & Paddy Power but don't think I know enough about horse racing to do these and also I will only be online early morning and evenings after 9pm. Also the double winnings at Coral are interesting. I wish I understood the offers at Betfair Sportsbook & Exchange as these are probably good too. I might look into all these a bit more.

I've discounted using Racebets and Sportspesa as they have bad reviews and/or are super quick to gub. I didn't get the Bet365 offer Sad or I'd be taking full advantage of that!

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm feeling a bit bamboozled, so much so that I'm just want to close the laptop down and run away and forget the whole thing is happening! So to keep my sanity, I'm probably going to choose just a few good offers as listed above and concentrate on those and maybe some Cheltenham casino offers too. I'm aware there's stacks of cash to be made though, hopefully you are going for the big £££! That being said, I'd absolutely love your tips and to hear your plans so thay we can make some money together! It's also be interesting to know targets. Mine is £250 for the week but this will include weekly stuff (bet clubs, price boosts, darts) and also casino.

If anyone has bet as a matched bettor at Cheltenham before, I (and am sure everyone!) would be grateful for your advice and help so please post!

I've not lay my sky bet (again!), as it's risk free

DonkeyScramble · 15/03/2019 18:04

Phew, I'm definitely taking the week off next year! I reckon I've made around £550 since Monday but that includes a few other offers and casino, no major casino profits though.

miltonroad · 15/03/2019 18:31

I’m definitely taking some time off 😂 head is done after all the racing - just checked smarkets and have placed 177 bets so far this month 😳😁

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/03/2019 18:39

I’m not onto WH flash odds. Is it everyday?

miltonroad · 15/03/2019 18:40

Yes every day at midday I think

Coppermine · 15/03/2019 20:07

Today was my worst day profit wise. However I watched the race where Sir Erec fell and just lost all motivation Sad and another horse died in the 3.30 race. I'm questioning whether I feel comfortable betting on the horses. It's just so sad Sad

I'm glad Cheltenham is over. It's been so full on. Got s couple of free bets to use tomorrow then I think I'm going to have a break for a few days. No way could I do this full time, it's too intense!

KOKOagainandagain · 15/03/2019 20:31

I was just talking to DH about poor Ballyward who died/was euthanised. Same horses in prior races all race at Cheltenham. I am also not hardened to it.

Golden0ldie · 15/03/2019 20:49

I’m exhausted after that!! Was doing well today. £61 up on Cheltenham and £7.50 from free spins but then I did the Boyle free spins offer. Won £6.96 which went into bonus funds subject to x5 wagering. So I got it wrong. I thought wagering came from bonus funds first, no warning it was coming from cash. Counted each and every spin and used my £7 ... from cash not bonus. Bugger, wouldn’t have bothered had I known.

Chelt was okay. Exhausting and I missed watching the racing as I do every year ... because I was sat at the laptop, frantically trying to find good matches. Saw a couple of races including Sir Erec’s accident. I grew up in a racing stable so saw good and bad but that upset me. Made £220 over the 4 days but my March profits, to date, are just over £400 which is double what I aim for each month so am more than happy.

A couple of football bets for tomorrow and that’s me ....

DonkeyScramble · 15/03/2019 23:41

With Boyles you can move the £ to poker apparently. I withdrew all mine before doing the free spins as I knew they'd take it before the bonus.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/03/2019 06:25

I always assume wagering will come from cash first.

Miltonroad · 16/03/2019 10:59

Don’t forget WH scratch of the day today and tomorrow easy bet 10 get 5

thefavourite · 16/03/2019 13:06

And Sky PBs and WH enhanced odds ACCA - can lock in a couple of quid each on these or underlay for a risk free way to possibly make a profit.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/03/2019 15:07

I’ve done the matchbook £20 risk free and won at the exchange. How long did everyone’s refund take to come through?.

Golden0ldie · 16/03/2019 17:48

About 48 hours for mine Fluffy.

thefavourite · 16/03/2019 18:50

My back bet won at Matchbook Fluffy so I didn't have that problem. I haven't worked out yet how to get 0% commission with them (as an OM member).

I have had a brilliant week, further helped by another extra place coming in yesterday and a couple of underlays coming good this afternoon. I will declare my week's total on Sunday evening though as that a when I do all my withdrawing and totting up. I know what I have calculated, let's just hope the figures at the bookies & exchanges tally up with mine!

Btw, should we all migrate back to the original MB thread?

I’ve been gubbed by Bet365 I’m fairly certain. I can’t believe it! Has anyone had any offers through from them recently? Damn.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/03/2019 17:29

Have you had an email from them?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/03/2019 17:38

I haven’t had an email but when I clicked on the offers bit on their webpage it says ‘new and eligible customers only’I was definitely logged in, and tried not to press it to many times in case it looked suspicious 😀. Is there hope? I was wondering if anyone had any Inplay freebies as England etc are playing this weekend.

thefavourite · 09/03/2020 21:55

Hello!

Anyone madly trying to work out what they've got the bank and the time to do this year? Starts tomorrow Tuesday 10th - Friday 13th March. I've been out of the game for about 6 months due to moving house and mortgage application etc although would like to get back on track and earn a wee bit extra each month- how times have changed though!

I'll give Chelts a go and see where I'm st I think. Frustratingly I've spent my bank so have to find the actual money I can spare to help build it up again.

Happy to post what I'm doing here if anyone is interested. Fingers crossed for a wee profit this week!

Ooh hello ... I'm very new to mb, I mean literally 5 or 6 sign up offers in and am quite daunted by Cheltenham! Especially as everyone shouting about it being the most important week in the bettor's calendar, yikes.

Never put a bet on a horse in my life. Any tips you got I'll happily take Grin
